Sir I am watching cricket since 1974-75 West indies tour of India under Clive Lloyd captaincy. Iwas 13 year old then.now iam 62.I have have followed 1983 world cup all matches through radio commentary.all are 60 over matches India under Kapildev captaincy played extremely well.Semifinals we defeated England.Finals with west indies ,India scored 183,sreekanth scored 38 He hit a six of Andy Roberts..while Windows batted Bal winder sand hu in swinger clean bowled Gordon Greenidge.Ulmately when Richards was hitting boundaries ,we lost hope but Kalil took a magnificent running catch.that was turning point.with the help of all rounders Roger Binny,Madam lal.Kirti Azad, Mohinder Amarnath. We won the world cup Next day the Head lines in news papers Was Kapils devils did it for India. Beautiful memories.Amaranth.Yashpalsarma,Sandeep patil,played excellent cricket.

Amongst all World cups 1983 is very great & most memorable bcoz we were underdogs at that time & match against Zimbabwe 17/6 stage Kapils knock 175 not out & in final defeating the greatest team at that time WI is stupendous. All time best world cup 👏🏻👏🏻

In 83 I am in 6th class,we are not having TV at that time,I watched at my maternal Uncle house in Lalita Nagar Colony,Ramnagar at Hyderabad,in 2007 I watched it in my home along with my family of my wife and my two sons at Ananthapur, in 2011 I watched it in my home along with my family including my parents at Guntur, and Finally 2024 Final watched along with my Wife,my Elder son and my Mother, my younger son was watched at IIT Varanasi

Sir, I too watched 1983 world cup by commentary in radio . I also anticipated our teams victory for one reason because our team has defeated WI just before the world cup in their home land and registered first victory against this mighty side. Moreover our team defeated WI in their first league match of that worldcup.
My second observation regarding our victories in all the worldcup matches is India never defeated Australia in a knockout match. This might be the reason for Rohit's aggressive play against Australia in super 8 match atleast to take one step positively to ensure Australia 's elimination in super 8 itself ofcourse by God's grace Afghanistan completed the rest. In this view we have to appreciate Rohit's thought, planning and approach.

But now 2024 i got emotional because in between 2013 to 2024 there are many many heartbreak moments. Still now i am not coming out of that moments. I am waiting for another i mean rohit's team roadshow in Delhi.

Anyhow, i have come here to remind Venkatesh garu that morning in March 2007 when he was a analyst on TV9 and can see the gloom in his words when India were knocked out 1st round unbelievably which i can never forget as those were the darkest days of life personally too.
