    If you’re looking at audio interfaces for OBS and don’t have any MIDI devices that require monitoring, don’t even hesitate. Just get this. I upgraded to the iD14 MK2 from a 2nd Gen Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 after 9 months of audio issues trying to get OBS to stream Ableton to Twitch without any major latency issues. The difference in build quality and functionality between the two devices is astounding. I did some test calls in Discord and a few people noticed an improvement in my mic audio from the preamps alone. And Loopback with Ableton was a breeze to set up once I designated a separate Cue and Master output within Ableton. I can keep the 1/2 Desktop Audio and 5/6 Cue within direct monitoring and set Loopback to my 3/4 Master so that I’m the only person who hears the metronome. And when I expand in the future I can connect the iD14 to a rack with the optical input.
    I’m ridiculously happy with this interface. Hands-down this is the best studio purchase I’ve made since I started on my content creation journey last year.

    M1 Pro Sonoma Fix: I was having some issues with loop back in FaceTime, Zoom and Quicktime and found the following to work. Make sure that the sound isolation option for the particular app is set to standard. It's the orange microphone icon in the menu bar. This seems to work with most audio/video related apps that I've tried with the exception of FaceTime. FaceTime with Loop Back on Sonoma and Ventura was basically a no go; for me at least. I hope this works for anyone else who had issues.

    My DAW (Reaper) can't see headphone output! What can I do now? ID14 is a great hardware, but what is wrong with this output?
    Headphones playing but I trying to separate signals to send on headphones custom mix.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  2 года назад +1

      I'd recommend opening the Mixer's system panel and setting the headphone output to "DAW THRU" mode. This then will route the audio directly from the DAW to the iD14's outputs. In Reaper, you'd just need to ensure that you are feeding the audio to output channels 3+4 (MKI) or 5+6 (MKII). Also in the mixer, ensure that the DAW 3+4 and DAW 5+6 faders aren't pulled up or this will send the headphone audio to the speakers as well.

    This went mostly over my head. It would be great if there was a manual that I can follow step by step.
    I am looking to record vocals and I want the singer to hear his voice coming out of the DAW, as I applied some reverb to it, and not to hear his voice going straight into the mic, as that's too dry.

    Hi guys, so am I correct in assuming the DAW 1+2/DAW 3+4/DAW 5+6 sources are essentially virtual cables? If so, would I be able to use the Audio Output Capture on OBS to utilize them to separate audio between applications (so DAW 1+2 used for game audio, DAW 3+4 used for VoIP audio), or would that only capture what's being routed after using the iD app?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  3 года назад

      The DAW 1+2, 3+4, and 5+6 are all separate feeds to the iD app and the Audio capture in OBS would pick up the output from the iD app where these three feeds had been mix3d together into a stereo pair.

    How do we mix mic audio and DAW audio into Zoom / OBS / Google Meet? Can id14mk2 loopback be used for this?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  3 года назад

      You can do this using Loopback.
      In the iD mixer, setup a Cue Mix which contains both audio from the Microphones and the Playback from your DAW. Then set the Loopback source to the CUE mix.
      Then in your Streaming/video call software, set the audio device as iD14 MKII Loopback 1+2.
      Please note that on macOS is isn't always possible to select which input channels you are using so this setup may not work with some apps.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  3 года назад +2

      We don't have a definitive list for this at this moment in time as different versions of these apps will have different behaviour. I believe Zoom and OBS will sum all 4 channels down to stereo and the other apps will only take inputs 1+2, however you may need to verify this for yourself or with the developer of the app.

      OBS on macOS only picks up Inputs 1+2 from the iD14 and not the loop back inputs which are found on channels 11+12. It's therefore not easily possible to use the loopback channels in OBS on macOS, you may need to look at an external app to send audio to OBS because of this limitation.

    the feature for loopback is really good. the only that look not nice is that the ID knob need share for loudspeaker and headphone volume too. there seem no indicator if speaker out is mute or not or at which level position it is. I really like a own knob for master volume at least. because when some time no audio output is use and then want play a youtube video, there is no information how high the level would be. and when neighbours hear video too before i switch to volume control and reduce volume is not nice. open mixer is aditional work.

    Hi guys! Recently just got one of your iD14 MKII interfaces and stoked with it!
    I would like to ask, how would you set up for the following scenario?
    --------
    DAW Stereo Output (ASIO)
    Computer Audio (Native)
    --------
    Combined these as a stereo mix and send to loopback for OBS, Zoom or Skype, and monitored through my speakers/headphones.
    --------
    This way I can just have Cubase open, do all of my audio routing and processing in this, and have it combined with my computer audio to send to those sources. I read below that you would recommend using a 'Cue Mix' and I've set one up in Cubase's Control Room, I've sent audio to both DAW Mix 5+6, and to Cue A, but when I choose either of those as a loopback source, it doesn't seem to send any audio to it.
    Previously I've had a lot of trouble sending DAW audio anywhere due to ASIO not being used by native applications.
    I've had to work around this using ReaStream and a fiddly virtual cable in OBS.
    I'd much prefer to use the onboard solution, how would I set this up?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  3 года назад

      In the iD mixer, you can setup your loop back source to capture your DAW and computer output, possibly using a Cue mix if you'd like to have a different mix to the mix being sent to the monitors.
      Then in OBS/Zoom/Skype, set your Input channel to the Loopback inputs. The important thing to check is that your DAW session and the your Windows System audio is set to the same sample rate.

      Now in the iD mixer mixer, click on the Main Mix button, we'll use the Main Mix as your own monitoring mix. Pull up the faders for the tracks you want to hear, such as the click, backing and instruments.
      Then click onto CUE A where we will build the mix being sent to Zoom. Pull up the faders for the Backing and instrument channels.
      Finally, in the iD menu, adjust the Loopback source to CUE A and you should now be getting audio into Zoom.

    Is it compatible with Linux OS? If not full functionality at least the basics?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  3 года назад

      We offer no official compatibility on Linux but as the iD14 is class Compliant, it may work on some Linux Distributions as a USB Class Complaint Audio Device, however as you cannot access the software you would lose access to features such as direct monitoring, cue mixes and the optical inputs.

    is this something that will be able to be integrated into existing iD44 or is it just limited to the MKII of any of the versions? i'd love to be able to use this with my iD44

    Guys, I have an ID44. Can I use this feature here? @audient

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  3 года назад

      Unfortunately, Loopback is only available on iD4 (MKII), iD14 (MKII), EVO 4 and EVO 8.

      @@Audientworld Thanks for the answer guys. Have to say I'm sad about that considering I have a flagship model of yours. I could imagine you guys have some implementation problems in "old" interfaces, but as a consumer, it opened my mind to research another brand. Unfortunately, because I love your products, I already bought 4 interfaces and I have 5 friends who brought the same interface due to my recommendations.
      I know LoopBack is not a decisive feature to buy a interface, but I understand that this is just the first feature my interface doesn't get access to. From now on, it's just the beginning.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  3 года назад

      Hello again,
      Just to clarify, the only reason we're unable to add loopback to the iD44 is because the hardware on the interface itself doesn't support the additional channels required for loopback.
      With the MKII and EVO interfaces, they were designed from the beginning to support loopback which is why they have this feature. We have no plans to stop supporting the iD44 at any point in the near future and will continue to provide updates and new features going forward.
      I hope this helps to explain our process regarding updates.

    How can I use Loop-Back in discord?

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  2 года назад +1

      If you are on Windows, you should be able to select the Loopback inputs as your audio device in the Discord audio settings.
      Unfortunately, on macOS, you're not able to select the audio channel you are using so its not possible to access the loopback channels on Discord at this moment in time.

    This is all good when the id14 mk2 doesn't crash. Never had a usb audio interface crash on me like this does. Fortunately, I'll probably be sending it back.
    Oh, by the way Audient never returns my email.
    Another red flag.
    Now when it works it works well. I even did a clean install of windows 10 which didn't help.

      Hello, it's certainly not normal for the interface to be crashing so it does sound like there's a USB connection issue occurring here. Can you let me know you ticket number that you have open and I can check why you've not heard back as we do try and get back to all tickets as soon as we can, despite a particularly busy time at the moment.
