100% felt that chat about felling like you’re falling behind in your 20’s, thank you for that💗
I have been feeling the exact same way as you!! I'm not even kidding, I've been seeing all the euro summer trips on social media and feeling like I'm not "living it up" like I should in my 20s. Being in your 20s feels so confusing cos everyone is in such different life paths, it's so easy to feel like you're falling behind and you're on a time limit when that's not the case! I just really appreciated you talking about it, because I relate so much!
I'm in my mid twenties and even like a year ago I had major FOMO about not being able to travel internationally especially seeing other people in my life do it (but they also have rich parents so I shoudn't compare at all). So now I just accepted I may or may not get to travel internationally and just make due with cheaper and more affordable trips around the US where I live and I appreciate those trips alot! Besides, I don't wanna get too caught up in making my self worth about how much and where I travel because then that just becomes an idol in my life and my identity should be and is in Christ 🙏🏻💕 just keep this in mind and the FOMO disappears pretty quick!
I'm 19 and I feel like a failure and like I'm behind my life. Thank you for talking about this topic x
I took my first major trip at 24 and been travelling ever since. I'm 31 now but remember feeling how you did. However I find your journey with social media incredible and can't wait to see where it goes. We're all on our own journeys and it's cool that we're all different and that's totally ok!
my Sunday routine is to watch your vlogs while I do my cleaning/week prepping and I will never get tired on it
Sorry late to commenting on this! But it is crazy because I am the same age as you and I look at you and see you’re married and seemingly have your life together and think I am behind. On the other hand, I’ve been travelling all over the world and yet you’d look at me and think you’re behind! We shouldn’t feel pressured because other people are doing something differently to us! Keep being you and there’s no such thing as being behind!!❤
I didn’t go overseas until I was in my 40s. I’m so glad we waited, we were able to afford to do it really well, not rush, see everything and stay in gorgeous places. Backpacking or staying in hostels and three cities in one day was never for me. I wanted to travel in style. Each to their own.
Regarding the “falling behind” with the travelling, I think it depends on your priorities. I’m from Mexico and I’ve been to europe 5 times because I LOVE travelling and It’s my number 1 priority to see the world. But I have friends who don’t go anywhere and just want to work work work, and aren’t interested. It depends on every person but don’t think that you “have time”, no one can say how much time we have left in our lives, we have to live our life to the fullest of our capacity always. ❤
Okayyy, that interlude in the middle of this vlog about appreciating each moment of your life and chilling out about what you’re *not* doing was so needed for me, so thank you so much for your insights!! I’m 24 and I’m constantly trying to make impulsive plans to travel or organise events because I feel like I can only do it when I’m young and that life as I know it now will essentially be over when I settle down etc. And while those things are great and exciting, ordering a takeaway at home with a good film, or just walking down to the coffee shop are just as exciting and lovely 🤍 thank you again for the reminder xo
This chat was so refreshing! Thank you so much Rachel. I think a lot of us needed to hear this! x
Hey! I just wanna give my input, I’m 30 and have traveled a lot! Especially in my early 20s I was traveling a lot more low budget than I do nowadays. I do disagree on the ‚i have time‘ mindset, you never know how much time you have left, this is why I believe you should do all the things you wanna do and not wait. Tbh I feel like you are convincing yourself that you are ok with it, but I believe that if traveling and having fun is sth you deep inside want, maybe you should try and get out of your comfort zone and just do it. I have traveled a lot by myself and always had the best times. Plus traveling in your 20s is a complete different experience than later in life. It doesn’t have to be europe immediately, but asia is super close to you, it’s super cheap and super safe! 💖
I totally agree. I went to Bali recently and amazed at how fantastic it was and how cheap, especially for Aussies. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, especially if you're in that influencer/RUclipsr world is so important. Now os the perfect time to travel, you don't need to do what your friends are doing if that's not in the budget
About at the travelling: I think its easy to forget how quick you can go to other countries as well in europe. depending on where you live, you can go to another country, spend an entire day and be back the same day - i can personally do it with sweden and germany so i've been there a bunch of time
The chat you had about your 20’s is so relatable and so great to hear someone else say, but also if you don’t frequently listen to Vienna by Billy Joel you so should cause it touches on this idea so beautifully!! 🩷🩵
i loved the travel chat. i'm in england so it's summer here but i have no plans to leave the country & i feel so much fomo!! i'm craving the south of france right now... but my time will come. 🙏🏼 plus there's something to be said for spending time in your own country when you might otherwise have been away.
Loved the chat about feeling behind in your 20’s! Its so true that everyone takes their own path in life- I grinded for years to accomplish my goals and they all happened to come together in my late twenties (just turned 30). It’s definitely one of those things in life that reminding yourself of your passions and sticking to it will ultimately provide you with the best life for you!
It is so funny to see how people from Europe want to go to Australia! And that it is the same the other way around. Australia really is a bucket list visit! 😊
Rachel is so so motivating and every time she posts it puts a smile to my faces!🙂💗
I’m 28 & have felt like that too! I remind myself I’ve traveled all around my country and I’m so blessed to do that. This year I went to Mexico for the first time & was honestly happy I waited! I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much I think at 18/19 years old. ❤ loved the chat!😊
Thank you for talking about the privilege of travel! Feeling that so hard and I’m 30!
"this body is where I live, so why wouldn't I want to feel my best" made me emotional
Really needed that chat about feeling like you’re falling behind in your twenties! Your positivity inspires me! 🥺💗
this chat was so refreshing and really needed to hear this, thank you for that
I just have to say that your bunny pajamas are so adorable , i'm obsessed
I always appreciate Rachel’s chats about being in your 20s so much ❤️
I am literally turning 21 a month today and I definitely feel like I’m falling behind… everyone around me is having children and going travelling and learning to drive and moving out and I’m not… I am currently at university… however that being said I’m definitely grateful for where I am because I know there are so many people that want to be where I am in life to… I always try and stay positive but sometimes I find it really hard 😌
Also reading everyone’s comments is so heart warming… I love this little community ❤
It’s so refreshing to have someone to release to! I’m 27 and when I watch your vlogs it doesn’t make me feel like I’m behind in life and that there are other people like me at my age they enjoy reading books on a Friday night lol❤❤
Seeing your videos on a Monday morning is the absolute best 😍 thank you for always being the perfect balance of real and positive 💕
I really needed to hear the falling behind in your 20's chat, Rachel! Thank you so much for that!! 💕
Come to New Zealand! Many places to love around our little country. Not too long of a flight either, few hours!!
Tysm for that travel chat. I’m 23 studying full time (nursing) and can’t afford to travel and have placements. I struggle to see all of these Europe trips all over my friends instagrams
Yes, my parents were the same... They only started traveling once us kids finished High School/Got Licences/Jobs...We tend to travel overseas as a family (only 4 times so far 😆) but maybe going overseas by themselves will be next for them. 🤷♀BUT they have been LOVING traveling Australia together though = Caravan Life!!! 💖
I loveeeee your videos!!! I’m an 18 year old going into freshman year of college and have been beating myself up for just staying in and reading and spending time with family when I should be going out and partying. But the thruth is I am a home body and I love staying in and reading or watch a movie with family! So trying to remind myself that I’m young and have many many years of going out and partying 😅😍😘
My mum did similar in the last 10 years. Did Europe. Did South America and went on an Antarctica cruise. Amazing
I needed the pep talk. I’m going through a sickness era and can’t work so I’m feeling this so hard. I want to get back to being on Prac and working and seeing everyone go away is hard because I’m nowhere near that.
That comparison chat you talked about really hit home for me. Thank you, Rachel, for the reminder. we all really appreciate it
Hi Rachel good morning happy Monday morning and happy summer day and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Can relate so much with the travel thing. I have people say to me all the time that I need to travel before I have children and while I'm young but I honestly have no desire to and I'd rather save my money for things that are more important to me such as buying a house and children. Their reaction when I say I'm not interested makes me feel like im a weirdo lol
Exactly! I am the biggest introvert and don't really have any friends to travel with, and travelling alone is just too much risk so I'd rather stay safe. I would love to travel someday, but I want to save up to go all out rather than go to week-long trips bc I don't enjoy fast-paced travel.
@@Seolhwaneul there's no wrong or right time to travel. Whenever is right for you! 😊
Thought I'd let you know we get two lifeline bookfests a year in Bris. One is on for a week or so in January and the midyear one in June is usually 3/4 days :) lots of love
Ooooh an thrift store vlog would be such a throwback 😍😍😍
Hey Lovely, I just wanted to say your rant really helped me feel at ease xx I really appreciate it !
Thank you Rach for always blessing us with such wholesome content 🥰 Praying for God's continual favour and blessing upon your life and a fresh sense of joy 🤍 His plans for you are SO good!
random, but i love your voice! it's so calming like your whole channel. a real safeplace!
Same here! I just never really had the travel bug. I've only been out of my country like once and I'm 26 😂 But ofc, I would want to go to Europe someday. Mainly to visit my niece 😅
I really resonated withal the chat about feeling behind in life
I love that Winston was watching the haul!!
Loved that chat Rachel, I needed to hear that today tbh, great vlog as always!😸
You’re such a comfort RUclipsr 🥰
To be fair, a word of wisdom. I would not "wait" to travel.... I would honestly do it whenever you can. Life changes so fast. I've travelled to over 30 countries and I am only 26. My friend who never went out of the country decided to go travelling with me suddenly got ill and cannot travel anymore. And taking a note from her book she said she would have done things much younger and experienced the world.
Tbh when I hit my 30s I didn't even wanna travel anymore. Just too tired and over it lol. So I would definitely recommend traveling in yours 20a when you have the energy and desire.
For some reason, some people, myself included, just never had wanted to travel. Idk, as Rachel said, we have different priorities in life, and if you want to and can afford to travel, then go for it. But it's not a necessity, by all means. I'm 26 myself and travelled to one country for a semester abroad. I don't think I have the capacity to travel alone and the planning is too much to bear lol 😅
Some of us aren't born with silver spoon. Yet we all keep on hustling not to impress or to be in a competition with anyone, we just want to change the storyline. We just want to give our family a better life. Build for the future and fight battles our parents never won.
I really needed that conversation today😊🥰thank you!
Looooved the walk on the beach & breaky clips :)
perfect timing, love a good vlog to unwind to in the evening 💖
a video I needed... I've been feeling behind all the ppl in my life and I'm not even 20 yet lol
When one of my favorite people posts on my birthday🥰🥰
Happy birthday 🎉
another perfect vlog ! 🥰
Loved this video❤
is it just me that is always confused first when she says it's winter rn 😂 I know she lives i Australia but I just always forgett bc it's like 30°C here rn
Hi Rachel!
Hey Rachel
Is there a reason why you and Liam don’t want to travel at the moment?
I got the vibe they're saving for a house deposit
Hey Rachel. Good video.
I'm 45 years old and have never been able to afford to travel, even in my own country, really. I'm okay with that, since I know that unless I win the lottery or marry a wealthy man, I will never get to travel. I agree that you can romanticize any part of your life. I really don't mind that I've never travelled. I do have a bucket list but it's okay if I never get to it. Thanks for the video! By the way, you look so different with dark hair, but still beautiful!
Am I the only one who is over the kita skin ads? 😂
Confidence is forgetting about others and doing exactly what you want. Stop thinking, start doing
I help set up lifeline bookfest! crazy our worlds almost collided
wait do you keep your house at 80 degrees????? I'm so curious
Fahrenheit not Celsius
These euro summer chicks are finishing their holiday in under 6 weeks... and they'll be back at work.
❤
I would love right now if it was 5 (43) degrees. It’s 37.8 (100) here today.
The problem is the area isn't set up for 5°. It feels really cold because the houses are set up for hot humid summers
@@JB-vd8bi same here which is why winters are so dangerous when the temps fires dropped. Still, I would give anything for 43 degree temps right now
Georgia looks so unimpressed during the hall
okay but this video and this advice are things I didn’t know I needed today 🫶🤍
Unfortunately you don’t always have the rest of your life to do things- life is fleeting 🥲
