    The last thing I would need while shopping at that place is a drink, lol. It would lower my inhibitions and I would walk out with at least one of each plant 😂

    Ashley, Ashley, Ashley I have watched this video about 4 times now! 😮 this is my DREAM store and it sucks that most plant nurseries and big box stores aren’t like this. I’m going to fly to visit Horrocks to buy everyone of the plants you showed. I’m so sad there are no places like this on the east coast.

    Hi Ashley that's pretty cool I'm in Detroit Michigan and I'm really enjoying your plant haul.. I also truly enjoy watching your channel.. also you can take the plants out of the pots and out of the dirt and put them in plastic or something like that and put them in your suitcase or your carry-on..

    That mojito was a steal! Mine grows like a beast, especially compared to my albo (which struggles with too much white). That place looks heavenly for plant lovers, but like others have said, way too tempting. I would never have been able to resist a good-sized Thai con for $89 😮

    Michigander here. FYI the snow starts to fly in GR in November and I am pretty sure you will want to avoid that. The original Horrocks in Lansing is easy to get to from GR. Fredrick Meijer Gardens has beautiful grounds and the indoor arid garden is right up your alley. During Christmas they have a beauty display of trees from around the world (different countries and cultures). Highly recommend.

      Apple season is coming up. There are a ton of orchards to visit. We're known for our breweries. Founders, Brewery Vivant are favorites. The GR Market is a great place to visit they have a little greenhouse area on the 2nd floor where they have weddings and receptions. East Grand Rapids and Eastown area have great little shops. Rockford is a great place for shops and has Zen botanical shop with rare plants. And I think you would love the Fulton Street Farmers Market.

    It's so interesting how different people have different experiences with the same plant. My Tetrasperma is one of the slowest growing plants I own. She's under a good light and on a plank, yet still just creeps along…

    What a giant plant market. Visiting GR in a few weeks so will definitely check out Horrocks. Our local succulents and plants are looking weary which is typical for late summer. It'll be difficult to restrain myself.

    I don't know if that plant you can't keep alive was actually called Heartburn (that's what the captioning called it), but the plant to the left of it, maybe a Selaginella or Frosty Fern -- that's one that I cannot keep alive. I don't know if the plant is just too delicate to keep from drying out, but I have had trouble with the light green one and a darker green one. They're pretty, and I think I tried keeping it in a terrarium, but it either dries out just sitting in the pot or gets too wet in the terrarium. I'm going to try a terrarium again. Had one in a big glass jar with lid. This time I hope to get the house shaped on from IKEA.

    Anyone know what type of succulent is in the succulent garden at 3:33? The ones that look a bit like a pine tree.

    • @jhowardsupporter
      @jhowardsupporter Год назад

      Are you asking a cactus and succulent enthusiast what that succulent is? I'm fairly certain it is peperomia nivalis but it could be peperomia dolabriformis, definitely not peperomia axillaris. Hey I'm a cactus and succulent enthusiast not a peperomia enthusiast. The cactus were astrophytum myriostigma var nudum. The plants were all quite large sizes and I would potentially buy those if I had space for such things which I never do. I'm currently setting up another shelve with grow lights and a fan for alpine plants, they wouldn't sell me a dwarf rhododendron yesterday because they said I wouldn't be able to keep it alive. It comes from high elevations in the Himalayan mountains but I want it! 😡

    Horrocks is wonderful, the one in Lansing is the place to be on a Saturday night with the food and live music.
    Just wondering how do you get plants back to Charlotte if you bought them in Michigan? Do you ship them, or have a way to pack them for the plane?

      It was incredible! I will definitely be back. I just take it in my carryon or in a bag. They allow it domestically. 🪴
