      Safety is just a fairy tale our parents told us so that we would sleep in our own beds. What's gonna happen is gonna happen. I don't worry about much. There's no point. I have good instincts because I was a feral seventies kid and I just do my best to stay alive. If you're worried about someone getting in your door I found a great lock at the hardware store when my granddaughters were younger. It looks like a door latch. It does give a lil extra security if someone were to try to kick the door in.

    • @neuralmute
      @neuralmute 5 лет назад +11

      Why would it be a strange hobby? Ann Rule wrote true crime books into her 80's; Agatha Christie and P.D. James wrote crime fiction just as long! I'm 40ish and been into true crime since my teens and don't intend to stop! It's fascinating stuff, and let's face it, as women, a lot of these stories hit us a lot closer to home than they do guys.

    • @michelewalburn4376
      @michelewalburn4376 5 лет назад +12

      I don't think it's strange at all. My six year old granddaughter asked me why I watch true crime videos. That threw me for a minute I explained to her that I study these cases in hopes that I can help figure out how to get them help before they get to the point that they kill. I want all men women and children to be able to walk this planet without having to worry about being attacked by another human.

      We don't think it's strange they just don't get it like its not like we like that these things happen it's just interesting and the mystery of it is like a puzzle and our human brains to want to solve puzzles (that's why escape rooms are so popular now) so it isn't really strange if it was strange than there wouldn't be 8362884628 shows on these topics

      I remember that case. I was very young. I was born in 1970. Even though we were up in Ohio and we white girls, our dad kept an extra close eye on us for awhile. This was on the news every night and that was long before the 24/7 news cycle. It had to be something huge for us to hear about anything that happened outside our local area. My dad swore until the day he died that the guy they arrested was innocent. He studied that case until he knew it inside out. He knew it better than the police and prosecutors involved with the case. He was brilliant and could just absorb information. I trust his judgement. I believe that guy is innocent.

    - Larry was caught for the rape and attempted murder of a businesswoman in her 20's... Not a 15 year old.
    - He never actually did any work for Deirdre's grandmother. They just found a flyer he had left at her store, in which he was advertising for work. Would of handed out many in the area.

    Thank you so much for covering these girls cases! I am from Ireland and I live very close to the Dublin mountains, growing up my parents would tell me in detail about all these cases and I could see the fear in my mother's eyes as she spoke. In her generation women were disappearing at a terrible rate with no real understanding what was happening and why. My own mothers friend, her sister who she knew very well disappeared from her car in the 1990s six months later her body was found but still to this day her killer has not been found. I want to thank you on behalf of all Irish women for giving these girls a world wide voice, telling people their stories and not letting them be forgotten. I've been binging your videos for a week now and just found this one of the missing women in Ireland. Thank you so much Danelle for covering these cases. I believe Larry Murphy is linked to 2 or 3 of these but not all. I'm from the same town as Fiona Pender and it is common knowledge here that it was someone very close to her that is responsible for her disappearance. He seems to have gotten away with it but everyone including authorities know it was him but can't prove it. Fiona's mother sadly died without ever getting justice for her daughter and unborn grandchild. This man also went on to be very abusive to his wife in more recent years and was on trial for this in Canada. All of these womens names are remembered here in Ireland and we hope one day the families will get answers.

    Love hearing cases from Ireland x I’m from Dublin so it’s really interesting learning more about local cases. You should do a video on Graham Dwyer and Elaine o hara if you’re doing a solved series again. The case was massive over here and really frightened lots of people. Elaine was completely taken advantage of and manipulated the poor thing and deserves her story to be told with a focus on her rather than the monster who committed the crimes against her.

    Hey Danelle, thanks for covering these cases. There is definitely a strong indication that a serial killer had been operating in the Kildare/Dublin/Wicklow area during the 1990s who has never been caught. Its so sad for their families & our nation still reals from their unresolved "dissapearances". This was an era when hitchhiking was normal & mobile phones were not really common.

    Danelle I am so so happy that you’ve covered this case! As you must know, irish cases get very little coverage, even here in Ireland!! I love that you’re raising awareness for these cases, especially this one which is so close to my heart. Deirdre lived about 20 minutes from where I do and it’s a case which has always had my interest due to that! I have my tea and snacks and I’m ready to watch this, no doubt learning stuff I’ve never even heard! Thank you so much for this💕

    I wouldn't read too much into the whole post office thing..... As an Irish person this is definitely just coincidence. Also as an Irish person I am ashamed to say that the Irish authorities decided to leave Larry Murphy out of prison after serving just ten years of a 15 year sentence! Yes everyone, Ireland iam ashamed to say is ridiculously lenient on scumbags! Larry Murphy deserves the death penalty, which we don't have in ireland!

    From Kilkenny, Ireland
    The name Larry Murphy terrifies people, especially women, he walks the streets of Ireland fearless.
    Deirdre's aunt and uncle owned a shop in Kilkenny city, I remember when Deirdre and JoJo went missing, to think they've never been found is heartbreaking 💝

    It does sounds as if these women had to have been stalked and followed for the person involved in the in disappearances to know their habits, etc. and be able to take advantage of them. Good job on the video. It really is terrifying to know that a person could just disappear only a few yards from their own home.

    I just love listening to all of the information that you're able to dig up on these missing and murdered people you have a great heart and are so compassionate is that I so wish that I could strive to be like you and find out information especially on the use of excessive force against my son not once but twice here where we live. No one seems to what to help out and I have spoken with the FBI the two agencies involved such as the police department as well as the sheriff's department I do have an attorney a bunch my son was injured so bad that he now has traumatic brain injury with seizures and has been in jail since January the 4th 2022 and still nothing is happening. But there was one strange thing that I found out. One day while being at the county clerk's office going through my son's records I heard a gentleman at another window asking about my son's case which of course peaked my interest and I went to speak with him and he said that this deputy had used the same charges at least three other times on three different non-associated people and as far as this attorney could find out everything was a lie. But that did not seem to make a difference as on the 14th of September my son was convicted and remains in jail until sentencing on November the 22nd which will have been away over a year that she has been incarcerated. Whatever happened to a speedy trial?

    Ireland/Northern Ireland was in such a mess during those years it doesn't surprise me most haven't heard of this theory or these cases. The reality is you can get to Dublin in Ireland to Belfast in Northern Ireland within 2 hours, and then drive your car onto a ferry and be across in Scotland within another two hours so God knows where those girls could of ended up. We've got a ferry from NI to Scotland then drove the whole way to the bottom of England before dinner time, I think when people from other countries think of numerous towns, cities and villages in their countries especially America it's probably very difficult to realise just how close all these cases were even if from different towns

    This is not a missing persons but a very strange death case. Female tourist from Poland traveling to Egypt. About a week after arriving to Egypt she ends up being admitted to a hospital and ultimately jumped out.of the window and committed suicide. This case has a LOT of conspiracy theories, sex trafficking being a big one. Lots of eery videos too. Magdalena Zuk was her name.
