Nice. Feeling like sitting in class room. Even cute Cat on the sofa set behind taking keen interest and listening carefully. At the same time she is changing her poses very well. As a naughty student she has courage to sleep in the classroom.
Namaste Anuja ji, Indeed an important discussion and thanks for sharing your knowledge. I was fortunate to have an exposure to this subject long back during one my visits to Pt. Vijay Ragha Rao ji (🙏) when he was discussing “nava-rasas). I He also used simply a three-word sentence to demonstrate fascinating variations yielded by slight changes in pitch, timing, and amplitude.
Your episodes are always so delightful and informative. I also have been thinking along the same lines as you. Every sentence we utter is a musical composition. Apart from frequency and rhythm, there is one more important element. That is silence. Periods of silence, when used properly, are often pregnant with meaning.
Pitch and timing are also important for actors for spoken language. And also fore salesmen, politicians, teachers, public speakers, etc. to increase the chances that their message’s meaning will be conveyed.
Although I'm not learning music, I'm learning a lot from your videos... Your explanations are very easy to understand. You are making me to like hindustani classical music too..
Great Information....What ever we actually speak is in some kind of scale (Moods) the only thing it differs is time is not assigned to it..if we apply both then its alreadu music... If we observe ,,
I always has this want to know how to turn spoken sentences into music n what's the difference between the two. Now i understood it finally. Particularly the meter part
your voice is a miracle your gestures are original your teaching is an honorary service to all the music lovers You Are just Yourself 🌷 one of a kind 🌷
Music is, in a sense, more predictable speech. It's hard to predict in advance how long a speaker is going to say the next word, or at what exact pitch they will say it at. However, with music, you know that the length of the word is going to fit into the tempo, and that the pitches are going to fit into the scale, making it easier to follow along. For the real nerds out there, another way of saying this is that a melody has lower information entropy than spoken word.
Very informative and your way of teaching is quite entertaining 😊 Reading and studying about the technical aspects of poetry such as how meter works also helped me understand how words, if put in a certain order, sound percussive and therefore rhythmic to the ear. Using that knowledge, one can enhance one's songwriting to spectacular levels and make one sound more professional and polished.
Hi Anuja Very Nice & informative video I m a sound engineer n I find dis every time i record songs, dubbing or while recording voiceover so I need to explain it, now i can send dis video. Keep it up. Thank you
"She has a mobile," with rising pitch isn't exactly exclamatory. The rising pitch at the end connotes an interrogative in English. The possible exclamatory component is an expression of incredulity, which merely modified the interrogative nature of the sentence.
Very nice! Also, one more difference - in spoken language we do not conform to ( or are aware of) any particular pitch (sa, re, ga, ma etc Or C, C#, D, D# etc) or pitch interval.
Anuja, the tone of your voice is very sweet. Touch wood, and God bless you. Have you considered releasing your own albums? This video of yours is the first time I am commenting on your channel.
Hello! I have a question. If you answer in detail it would be highly appreciated. Why does professional singers sound so good even if they are not doing anything fancy. Like the first half of Arijit Singh's performance in gima awards 2017 is so simple but it is still mesmerizing even when he starts Janam Janam it sounds so good but when I do the same thing it's not even close.
Hello Anuja, Could mood also be connected to the 22 shrutis of the 7 notes. The names of the shrutis like dayawanti, ranjani, raudri etc suggest that each shruti stands for a specific human reaction.
Singers like Anup Jalota use timing a lot. Ghazal singing is a lot about timing. Some new singers may use timing just to show-off their lung capacity. It should be used for emphasis or conveying the meaning such as duuuuuuuur (faaaar), duuuuuuub (sinkiiiiing), etc.
Hello mam, am a student of Hindustani classical music but I want to make my basics really strong. Could you please what and where should I start from? Please guide me 🙏☺️
