One of the hardest things about getting older is having a razor-sharp mind, and a young playful spirit trapped inside a shitshow of a body. You feel invincible when you're young, and then as you get older, you start ignore the extra clicks and cracks and aches, until you can't any more and you have to be honest with yourself. Your show is very entertaining, and I catch it every week, sometimes at premier, so you must be doing something right. Keep up the hard work, it's much appreciated.
I just had this conversation this morning, young ones don't understand, your mind is still 21, the body feels like a collection of auto accidents trying to function as one !!!!! {I'm almost 61}
Hi Ola, I know you are trying to avoid surgery, I did the same and lived in pain for 10 years, eventually I did get the surgery since I could barely walk for more than a few minutes at a time, and I am living a second life now , I barely feel any pain at all and when I do, it doesn't hurt much for long. I am so glad I did the surgery and regret not doing it sooner !!!! I just wanted to share that with you brother Ola......Cheers from France🤘
Ola thank you for being honest and open about your physical issues. I'm so sorry that you are suffering. I've been living with moderate to severe chronic pain every second of every day since October 2001. I wish you the fastest of complete recovery sir, & please know that there really are people out here who are listening and pulling for you. And a few of us who can unfortunately relate personally to what you are experiencing. ☮️❤🤘
I absolutely love Woff Hoffmans playing, Been listening since the 80's. So glad the band is still going strong, The last 3 albums have been great, they are better than ever, cant wait for this new one.
Been watching you for like a decade man and SWOLAs are literally the highlight of my Sundays when watching TV. I especially love all your outdoor adventures. Take care of yourself and I know all this shit with your back will eventually pass.
I’ve had chronic pain for 20+ years from an accident that triggered a neurological syndrome. You’re doing great. Seek out mainstream and alternative care, never fear getting second and third opinions, hug your doggo lots, and always do your best without beating yourself up for what you can’t accomplish on a particular day. That’s the best advice I can provide. We ❤ and appreciate you! We all enjoy whatever you’re able to upload, and I know it sure does distract me from my own pain for a little while. Thanks for everything you do for us! Be well!
Hey Ola just wanted to say sorry to hear you are struggling with your back pain just now . Stay strong and thanks for all you do . SWOLAs are such a highlight in the week. I’ve had my T2.6N for about a year now and I love it . Look after yourself. From a 50something in the Uk 👍
sundays with ola are Literally the only good thing about sundays i look forward to, it takes away from the hangover, doing laundry getting shit ready for the work week, thank you Ola you and your obnoxious burps are doing a noble service for us workingman guitarists!!! also im getting into swedish metal ( something i never really was crazy about cause the vocals were just screaming) but i really like amon amarth, that guitarist has the best tone and some of the best riffs i have heard man!
I started listening to Accept back in like 83. In 85 I saw them front row at Red Rocks when they opened for Maiden. That crowd was insane that day. Best show ever.
HAPPY SWOLA!! Wolf is AWESOME! Congrats dude! Also as a 39 year old approaching 40 in June I feel the need even more to go to gym. GET WELL OLA! KICK SOME ASS DUDE!
That intro song was pure fire! And don't feel bad because you don't upload as much as you would like to because of your back pain, it's important that you take care of yourself! You are a big inspiration for me! have a nice week Ola! Cheers from Montréal Canada
Accept is not talked about nearly as much as they should be! They have helped shaped metal a lot and I see very few people talk about them. I have searched a lot for bands that sound slightly the same as Accept and haven't found anything. Accept is by far my favorite band!
As someone who has suffered from 25+ years of untreatable chronic pain I can more then understand the missing energy to do something and difficulty concentrating on things. I really do hope it gets better for you soon because you don't want to be on those pain meds to long as your body will slowly become immune to them and you're gonna need stronger doses of it to help until the point that there isn't stronger anymore. I quit pain meds a long time ago and you will feel like end of world hell when you do but your brain will get used to the pain and it will get (a little) better. That way on really bad days you still have something to ease the pain. Living with pain truly is hell on earth and very few people really understand what it's like. Get well soon, I really enjoy SWOLA a lot and hope you can do it for many many years to come.
I have a herniated disc and a torn disc. I feel your pain man. I got a rhinoplasty and it helped me. Now I can work again. The pain comes and goes. I have good and bad days. Be careful with painkillers. I did that for 3 years and I was hooked on them. Wishing the best for your health and well being.
Good luck Ola, I have sciatica and severe migraine issues, so I totally understand. Go easy on yourself and thanks for all the great content that you make.
Ola! Long time subscriber here, I wanted to tell you I empathise with you and understand the sciatica issue. I had struggles with it from the time I was around 25 until this last year. I just turned 41 in January so I believe we are about the same age. This could be isolated to me personally and my own body type but I found that the more I actively tried to work on the sciatic issue the more trouble it gave me. It wasn't until this past year I started a new job that involves a lot walking, and it's usually mindless walking from the end of one space to another repeatedly so I find myself speed walking. I noticed a couple months ago that I haven't had a flare up at all in at least 9 months maybe longer. After much thought I've narrowed it down to the intense purposeful walking... It must have something to do with moving the hip flexors. Think of old wamen at the mall on Saturday morning. Hahaha! Anyways, thinking of you my metal brother. Much love from Ontario Canada
I deal with the back stuff too Ola. Mine unfortunately hasn't gone away, but you learn different ways to deal and it gets a bit more manageable. On a different note,I enjoyed you running out of frets on the x...lol, seriously though., since you released it,I've been begging you to make one 25.5 24 fret for us shredders. I've wanted one since they were teased, and haven't bought one yet because of this. Hopefully now that you've experienced that,u might change your mind. Good luck with your back,we all love ya man!
Hi Ola, thank you for delivering every Sunday! It is so nice to put this on every morning. If you know Andy Gillion (fellow composer/guitar god/ tall guy) he suffered with a similar kind of back pain in the last couple of years. He recently managed to get off the pain meds and is feeling a lot better! Maybe get in touch with him to see how he managed to get out of this clearly painfull and long lasting issue! 😊
I totally understand and empathize with your pain Ola. I have permanent pain from a motorcycle accident in 2020. I work 50+ hrs a week selling cars and it's tough to have the energy to even jam anymore. Get well soon 🙏🏻

Back pain sucks, I’ve stuffed for years with it so know how you feel. I switched over to Strandberg guitars a few years back because regular guitars were too painful to play. It’s awesome you’re still managing to put out excellent content, absolutely love the Swola’s. Wishing you all the best with the back problems and hope you get something sorted soon 🤞🏼
