Namaste The Rig Veda has 10,552 mantras grouped into 1028 suktas or hymns each having roughly ten mantras. The suktas are further grouped into 10 mandalas. Rig veda has only Rikmantras which have a metrical structure. Of these 2456 mantras are in the well known Gayatri meter ( The popular Gayatri mantra is also in this meter). As per Shri Aurobindo Ghosh , Rik is the mantra of divine consciousness.Its brings its light of revelation. There are around 400 rishis in the rig veda of whom atleast 25 are women.
(00 mins to 2.45 mins) Medha Suktam One of the most beautiful suktams in Sanskrit is the medha suktam. This can be chanted at anytime and is a way to invite the deity of intellect - medha devi, to enhance the intellectual capacity of anybody, ideally of students. Goddess "medha devi" guides and guards the intellectual faculty in living entities. Some think that this is a "religious" piece. It is or it is not depending on how one wants to see it. One can see this as a glorification of the intellect or the glorification of the personified deity (abhimAni devata) of the intellect - medhA devi. Without intellect no learning is possible, so this is the glorification of that intellectual faculty in us all. I am in awe of how one is using the intellect to pay tribute and reverence to itself. @नमो नमः depends on what benefits you are expecting. My wish is for experiencing the highest state of consciousness. Meditation is the key. A Guru is of critical importance. Reading scriptures recommended by the Guru is another element. Finally, Divine Grace is the only thing that matters. If the Lord wishes, everything else becomes easy

The Rig Veda has 10,552 mantras grouped into 1028 suktas or hymns each having roughly ten mantras.
The suktas are further grouped into 10 mandalas.
Rig veda has only Rikmantras which have a metrical structure. Of these 2456 mantras are in the well known Gayatri meter ( The popular Gayatri mantra is also in this meter).
As per Shri Aurobindo Ghosh , Rik is the mantra of divine consciousness.Its brings its light of revelation.
There are around 400 rishis in the rig veda of whom atleast 25 are women.

Medha Suktam
One of the most beautiful suktams in Sanskrit is the medha suktam. This can be chanted at anytime and is a way to invite the deity of intellect - medha devi, to enhance the intellectual capacity of anybody, ideally of students. Goddess "medha devi" guides and guards the intellectual faculty in living entities.
Some think that this is a "religious" piece. It is or it is not depending on how one wants to see it. One can see this as a glorification of the intellect or the glorification of the personified deity (abhimAni devata) of the intellect - medhA devi. Without intellect no learning is possible, so this is the glorification of that intellectual faculty in us all. I am in awe of how one is using the intellect to pay tribute and reverence to itself. Beautiful.

Om, the universal rhythm, that which is the most exalted in all the sacred texts (brahma, sciences) [the superior most pleasure, wish]. Oh Lord, may I become the possessor of the eternal nectar (of divine wisdom).

@नमो नमः depends on what benefits you are expecting. My wish is for experiencing the highest state of consciousness. Meditation is the key. A Guru is of critical importance. Reading scriptures recommended by the Guru is another element. Finally, Divine Grace is the only thing that matters. If the Lord wishes, everything else becomes easy
