Exactly. I only recently transitioned from part time to full time because I wanted Amazon to pay for some of schooling because iiii don’t want to be their for years and years like some people and never go on to do something better with their life
Im a current employee at Amazon and this video really helped me put things into perspective and to go ahead and quit. I’ve been thinking about quitting for the past month and now I’m just going to go ahead and do it. You are absolutely right… they do not care anything about their employees. You are literally expendable.
I think it is important to remember that no matter where you work or what field you are in. Their will ALWAYS be something you don't like about it. Every business has it's politics and drama so to speak. On the outside, every job seems fun/promising. Once your in the field, all everyone talks about the problems within the company. I have not met 1 person that says something nice about their job. Just the way it is....
I love boring and repetitive, I start next week, my only concern is I just hope I don't get sick, or get hurt, or get in an car accident that leeds me to me getting fired, because my only objective at amazon, is to pay off my car note, build up an emergency saving, then I will look for a job that pays the same, close to my home, so I don't have to waste gas.
I applaud you for lasting as long as you did. Three years, damn! You're young, intelligent and articulate. You have way too much going for you to settle for sweatshop brutality.
@@celestebrusciano3637 I’m glad you brought this up. LOL “my job is so tough sitting behind my desk!” I’d like for some of these scrawny higher up guys to try working a shift at least once a month so they can see how SHITTY the work experience is!
@@swordfish3720 yeah. I have a job as a production assembler at a Health company labeling, counting and packaging COVID 19 testing kits and I'm literally standing on my feet 12 hours a day packaging boxes upon boxes upon BOXES of kits. I'd much rather work where the Assembly and pouching actually takes place because it's all automated lol my job in the cell was to make sure the machines didn't fuck up which they did a lot anyways...
I started working in July and within a month, I saw all the politics, the favoritism, the injustice of the associates and the complete lack of respect for people and the fact that we are currently working 60 hours to just please customers. I’m more mentally tired that physically. It’s horrific and I need do this to be able to survive.
Alma, listen Darling, just between me and you, I could definitely throw some dollars ur way if you know what I mean honey. You won’t have to please customers, just ME, an Amazonian like you. See we already have something in common. Now it may be demeaning but not as demeaning as working at Amazon .. 😉😉 👫 🤰🏻🤱🏻
Bro! 3 years?!?! I just quit tonight. I was a packer. I did my absolute best for the full 10 hrs a day. After my first 2 weeks, I kept being told I needed to move faster. I'm pissed because I liked the job but they just wanted too much out of me. I couldn't keep up with these 5 ft machines. lol Got retrained today and said I knew my stuff but I needed to move faster. Just couldn't do what they wanted. I'm 40 years old and in fair shape. I thought I was very quick. I was wrong. I worked for my first 50 hrs last week. It was a game changer.
You mentioned other warehouse jobs you had, like UPS, you seem like a smart kid , so here is a really check, you are not meant to work at any of your past jobs, you are meant for something greater so the universe is pushing you to something better, you’ll make stops along the way to your destiny. Things really do happen for a reason. If it wasn’t for this experience you wouldn’t have something to say on this video and hear all the support and advice coming your way. Best of luck.
Excellent video. I just gave UPS 8 years of my life and finally got sick enough of the company to leave. I've been wondering how life would be at Amazon. I really hope for the employees sake that they can get a Union. I hope you're happy wherever you are now.
@@mitchruns9667 at the HEB Warehouse. Much better atmosphere and pay! HEB is a grocery store located only in Texas. Where I’m at in Houston is a Warehouse / Manufacturing building.
My advise to others as well is, DO NOT take the job as an Amazon warehouse worker too seriously, but serious enough to prevent yourself from getting injured. Also, if Amazon fires you, they WILL rehire you in as little as 30 days IF you apply to another facility. So don’t be afraid cause it’s a revolving door. 👍🏼🕺🏾
It is based on location and role, I work at an FC here in Texas as a problem solver and it’s been a great 1st year, I go in do what I need to do, then go home. My Am’s and Pa’s don’t micromanage me and only approach me if I need them for assistance. I don’t feel like they over work me or take advantage because I am cross trained in many areas, I don’t feel like a robot or a number, but as a person. I will say stow and waterspider are 2 areas I haven’t trained in so I can’t say what is like to work in those processes. So it is based on location
Totally agree. I have never bought anything off Amazon because of the way Jeff Bezos treats his employees. You can get everything you need other places. No need to make Jeff Bezos richer. Let his empire fall.
But you’re paying for the convenience. And sometimes, prices are cheaper on Amazon. And sometimes they definitely are not cheaper. I just look around for the best deals🤷♂️
Yeah, but how many sites do you have to go to before you find whatever it is you're looking for? Amazon almost always has what I'm looking for. One stop shop.
@@CaesarInVa You can always walk to the shops and find what you want . The connivance of shopping on Amazon does not compensate for the damage that Amazon causes to our society and our way of living . If tomorrow there was no Amazon , i am sure the world would be absolutely fine . I haven't bought anything there in over 2 years and still have all i need .
Great vid, very insightful. I worked at an FC three and a half years. Very strange phenomena there. The nature of the work, combined with the schedule/hours, ruins you for any outside interests, family, friends, goals, etc. That's why it's a "free" job for any one who's up for it. You are signing over your life/existence for the time you are employed until the time you quit, get fired, get injured, etc. They basically treat people like disposable robots. It's not really difficult work, BUT... it's mind-numbingly basic and repetitive and it's all under this oppressive atmosphere of "You have to go faster, but you better not make a mistake!". It turns the brain and body to jello imo. Even the active jobs like picking, it's not a healthy kind of active, it's the "mess up your body" kind of active. Twisting your back in the same motion over and over while lifting items of odd weights, asking for a hernia, wrecking your knees going up and down ladders. Glad you got a better situation going.
@@KevawnTv A friend of mine was overweight and lost a lot of pounds in the packing department. Then he switched to inventory, and they made him cross train in picking. Now he has all kinds of back and knee issues from picking and is always on medical leaves. Same with a bunch of others. I had a bad knee that gradually got more and more painful from working there, thought I might need surgery. Could barely put weight on it. After quitting it went back to pain-free in about a month. Getting hurt is just part of the deal there, probably the main reason they give you insurance on day 1. They have to.
I applaud those that depend on Amazon for full time work. I only work PT Seasonal for a side job and having that frame of mind makes it bearable. There is no way I could do this full time.
I have seen videos showing a lot of seniors working for amazon. Many without pensions are desperate for income to go along with their future social security or to increase their future social security.
I’m Literally watching this videos as I’m watching my amazon training videos right now and tomorrow is my first day.... whaaaat did I get myself into. thank you for being so honest .
@@damiant2557 I eneded up quitting after a week. What people are saying is true . You aren’t really valued as a person and they don’t take you seriously or personally . I wasn’t trained one on one so it was difficult to preform in the way and consistency they asked . You are very disposable there and they make you feel that way. This shows me the value of working a job that is worth your well being and asking yourself , is money worth it ? No, to me , happiness is .
I start next week, I filled out my docs online, but haven't receive my email for training videos yet, my only motivation for working at amazon, is to work to pay off my car, save up a few thousands for emergency saving then look for another close to my home job.
I used to work at Amazon for three years. I worked inbound received. I had to handle pallets of items that weigh from 5 pounds to 50 pounds. I was the fastest inbound receiver. I pushed the rate up to 200 every week. I quit Amazon when I realized that I couldn't move up and grow within the company.
@@brsugarbabe Moving from a regular Tier 1 to a PA ( next level up ) only requires no active write ups, and like 10 hours of UPT in ur account. Agree with the livable wage, but they need to address the issues that keep prices rising because otherwise the number for livable wages just keeps going up and so do the costs
I agree 100% with you. That place is nuts. The environment is toxic, and everybody seem to have a bunch of attitude’s. The expectations are very unrealistic and tiring. If you want to feel that you can never quite measure up, then work for Amazon. No matter how fast or how loyal you are….you’re still just a number. Nothing is good enough for them people lol. There’s always (in their eyes) better, better, and better. I truly believe that they’re actually just prepping for robots to take over because that’s how they treat their employees. In my opinion, that job is mainly catered for college students looking to make a few bucks for the summer time before school comes back in session. It’s back breaking labor, at best.

This video was really important to me. You gave great insight on these jobs and their ugly bureaucratic BS. I'm glad they didn't call you for your hearing, you would've missed your opportunity to be in a way better position. Thanks for sharing.
It's not just the income that makes you need a roommate, it's also the rent costs. If rents were lower and more reasonable, then the Amazon wage might be enough. It's not just livable wage, but livable rent, livable utility costs, etc that should be adjusted.
Personally, I think ALL work is important whether it be "blue collar," "pink collar," or "white collar." We all contribute to the growth of the economy. Everyone should get paid a living wage.
The reason you give somebody more opportunities with less experience is the more experience you have the more that you see (the bigger picture)going on and the more questions you ask the less experience that you have the less questions you ask and the more you are a yes sir person. Corporations tend to not want more experience they want mindless people who don’t ask any questions and just do what they’re told. But I would agree with you B. as a business owner I would want a team of people around me who ask questions to see the bigger picture at least that’s what I did when I ran Kitchen’s as a chef I want to cooks sous chef dishwashers and even servers who saw the bigger picture and would come to me and keep me informed on the goings-on in the front of the house in the back of the house.
He was referring to March/ April of 2020 ( during covid ramp up ) Amazon didn't know what to do so they gave every one in the network ( T1's and PA's ) access to unlimited UPT for like a month or so before they pulled the plug kekw
I am 9 months in and everything you say is absolutely true... I have been tryIng to get a internal transfer to packing, but they hire outsiders first. Simply, Amazon has no sense of seniority.
You're a good man who thinks about others. We also need to think about the history of domestic unpaid labour- never acknowledged, never appreciated, never was paid, and never will be paid. Basically, the work of our mothers.
I'd love to be a driver. Doing that I don't mind working those amounts of hours. I'm use to working between 15-17 hour days 6 days a week so even 50-55 hours is much better.
I have noticed an ongoing theme about people that worked at Amazon. That theme is they don't like working in a warehouse. Now i say that, but i also say this, it also appears amazon is the modern day capitalist big brother. He watches everything you do and he ensures he is getting every penny out of you. Now every company is different and every kind of warehouse job is different. I worked in two different kinds of warehousing, one was a fulfillment job essentially where i got orders from big companies and i filled them. So i get the order, hunt down the product, hunt down an appropriate sized box. label it and ship it. Easy, just try to use as few boxes as possible while making sure the product is safe. Was a real chill job working with honestly the nicest company i ever worked for. Sadly the pay was kinda bad, but they do take care of you. Also you can go at a chill pace, use your phone, listen to music and my boss had a fucking snack drawer for us. One of the few times i felt truly guilty when i quit, especially since i only gave the guy like 1 week notice before i went into law enforcement. My next warehouse job was a receiving back end job for a retail store. So i was on the other end of things. So i get trucks in, get on my lift, unload and then organize the freight and break that freight down to send it to where it needs to be. Was a fun place to work, not to crazy either. You worked your ass off though, but it was also fun and chill in many ways. You can use your phone, use the restroom whenever and all that good jazz. Just crappy pay and no benefits since they start everyone at part time even though you were working 40+ hours. I made real good friends working there and tight bonds because we all struggled together kind of mentality. Worked there for almost 3 years and was my first cool job. Worked at Walmart and KFC prior, never again. The thing these 2 jobs have in common is pay. They both paid less than 14 an hour (One being 13.60 and the other was just under 12). Meanwhile the Amazon place paid 16.50 starting (In 2019 as well) and that was actually not terrible in Colorado Springs. Plus benefits. So Amazon at least will start you at a much more fair pay rate and the work you do is really simple. At my other jobs i was responsible for a lot more than just putting a box in one place to another. I could fuck up 10,000s of dollars worth of things. Plus i was certified on heavy equipment. YEt i got paid less. Honestly i wish Amazon was an option when i went into ware house work originally. Not that i would ever consider staying, fuck no. Warehouse work breaks your back as i later ended up fucking up when i worked in a concrete block plant. Which is another point. I worked in a concrete plant, which that kind of work will put hair on your balls, and i got paid pretty bad there too. Most days were 8 hour days thankfully, but god damn it was a work out and if you worked inside the plant you were slaved away. But if you want to get fit fast and so long as you watch out for your back, its a good job. But i remember working 14 hours of just straight heavy labor. So there is worse out there. Not sure i went on a huge rant or what ever, but ya.
I think Amazon is a steeping stone company, Once you get your foot in the door (work 6 months) look to move up or move on. Apply for other jobs at different companies in the meantime and setup interviews during your day off.
I've faced this treatment in other jobs. While amazon is an innovator in screwing people over. The other companies and industries out there are definitely taking note to use people..thus is capitalism. Making huge profit off the backs, blood and sweat off workers. I pray the unionized efforts happen. I now work at a unionized position and I am treated well.
Yep! already witnessed this at another warehouse gig i had, didnt even let me finish my last month out as a temp apperantly couldn't make their precious numbers per the hour like my latino co-worker's could despite me rarely talking on the job unlike them. These "productivity managers" need to fck off!
@@Clonest Yes they have a knack at cutting people loose without warning and without compassion. Yet executives get "severance pay" even if they are being outright fired from their positions for doing a poor job. Imagine that? The 1 percenters take care of their own and not the "wage slaves".

Yes they tried to give me seven days by giving me one day off. Monday Tuesday, Thursday to Sunday and Monday again is seven damned days. That is seventy hours. I do not have that kind of energy.
I didn't hear you mention anywhere in your video about working to better your circumstances. College or trade school, online schooling and such. If you're unhappy with the money you are making, learn a skill that will allow you to make more. Your employer should pay you what you're worth, but it is Not an employers responsibility to pay you what you think you Need. What you Should be questioning is why housing costs are allowed to be so high in your area, not why you think you should be paid $50k a year for unskilled labor. I too am an Amazon fulfillment center employee and i agree conditions could absolutely be improved. Living within your means is your responsibility not your employers.
Your comment seems to give mega corporations a free pass for contributing to the overall unequal state of our socio-economic system. Everyone, and every entity, has responsibility for this; it’s not a matter of self-responsibility alone.
even if that true he did mention the area he lives in is hard to live in cause of the costs. your comment doesnt seem to address that theres is a unequal balance between the rich and poor these days in terms of housing costs and that many jobs just dont pay enough to get buy on. certain jobs may not exist where he is. plus like most people he was attracted to what amazon offered and later discovered it wasnt as good as it seems. california would be a better example. the reason is obvious. weather, big tech companies. hollywood. the beach. alot of those cause housing costs to be very high. if youre speaking as an employee there at amazon you should be expecting better for you as a work and not accept harsh treatment. as a worker you do have rights and shouldnt allow someone to tell you why you dont deserve them cause a company tells you so. they dont own your existence unless you give them that power. its fine if employers feel that someone doesnt deserve the money they have to pay you for. but that doesnt give them the right to avoid tax payments and to look down on workers either. theres a difference between having morals and decency than just straight out bullying and disrespect. ps remember as worker at amazon. youre just a number to them. regardless how hard you work. they can fire you without giving you a reason
Its gonna get worse for everybody after inflation. The cost of these bailouts and the damage Covid caused they will create a new system caled the great reset to come to a solution due to high debt and inflation and many wont like it especially in this country.
worked there for a couple weeks as a seasonal & couldn't fathom myself doing it for months on end. I could feel myself beginning to lose my social life. it felt like the longest 2 weeks if I'm being honest. it was literally work, eat & sleep every single day. I couldn't do anything in my free time cause I was so beat and tired so I would sleep until my next shift. (1:20am-11:50am) to those who are applying or seriously thinking about applying I'd say do it! one thing I will never do is push my realities upon someone else. everyone is different. there could be another person that could experience the same things I did & say they love it. it's subjective. my reasoning for not continuing were not work related. I just felt I could find something better. the ppl I worked with were all super cool & each day I came in I tried to have a positive attitude. don't let anothers misfortune determine your decision. sometimes it's good to just give it a shot for experience & growth as an individual.

Which FC did you work at? I'm guessing either a Seattle based warehouse or GEG1? I'm currently at GEG2 (the new facility in spokane valley) and I also stow, but we have order pickers/pits, as well as stowing on foot on the second and third floor. Water spider for the 2nd and 3rd floors is insanely labor intensive, and I get blisters on my feet despite wearing 2 layers of socks, but that's because I literally hustle, spidering for Stowers, changing pickers cages out and grabbing and replacing receivers cages for the tuggers and carts for my elevators for stowers on the Two other floors. Overall, I've had a pretty good experience since I started in November. Our FC also has a fun committee for associates who want to be a member and think of fun activities for the fc....but yeah, you do need to work your ass off, something my managers and other dept managers have noticed I do....oh, and I actually liked the 12 hr shift/60 hr peak season before Xmas (surprisingly we only had 1 week of that for stow) pickers had a lot more met.

Jeff Bezos could actually spend 11 million dollars everyday for the next 50 years and STILL have lots of money left over. It's absolute dog crap what his own employees are making. He could probably even give every Amazon worker a million dollars and still be filthy rich.

Very well said! I agree, most people take for granted when they shop online. Especially when ordering big, heavy bags of pet food, 24 case of sodas. I mean seriously. The convenience of AI and technology is making people lazier. Use cash, drive to your local supermarket to buy these things.
I worked at Amazon for nearly 9 months. I recently got disposed of because I didn’t put enough hours in last month. I was a flex associate for most of the time I was there. When I first started, I worked night shift full time from Sunday thru Wednesday. I worked at the fulfilment centre in Troutdale, Oregon just outside of Portland and I live in Vancouver, Washington. Yep I’m a Washingtonian myself just like you Larry. Anyway, it was hell working at night. I hated it. It really made Sundays hell for me because I had to get up early so I can go to Church and I never got much rest after Church because I would have to get ready for work. On my off days, I was so drained that I didn’t get much free time. It was even worse when MET was called which happened on consecutive weeks in October mainly because of the wildfires that happened in September and we had to close our warehouse during that time. I even got called in for my overtime day still in October which was on my birthday too. I did not want to work on my birthday especially since I was too drained to do so. Luckily I had the option to call UPT so I wouldn’t have to come in that day. I used UPT several times during my night shift days because I was too drained to work during those days and I should not have had to use UPT so much. Luckily I requested a schedule transfer and finally got one after working nights for two and a half months and I was now in charge of building my own schedule. I always picked day shifts always during the afternoons and that was so much better too. I had to work at least five hours each shift I selected and I usually picked shifts from Monday through Thursday. I had to at least get 20 hours of work in each month. At least I was able to enjoy my Sundays again can especially enjoy going to Church again. Even with the flex schedule work was a challenge due to the pandemic that’s still ongoing even as I’m writing this comment although thankfully it could be coming to an end soon thanks to the vaccines. I decided to take it easy while still attempting to get my 20 hour minimum for each month. The last time I successfully got the minimum in was in April. I was not able to do so last month because I went out of town for a wedding. Just this past weekend, instead of being given the option to continue my employment at Amazon like they said would happen once I got my flex schedule, they just flat out terminated my employment. Amazon lied to me. They even gave me 90 days to appeal and I didn’t bother at all. I just cut them out of my life, threw away my work badge and my prime bag which was cheap plastic. All I have left from them is all my work gloves I ever used there as well as a bunch of of box cutters I used over the time I was there. I’m now trying to work elsewhere. I’m considering working at the VA since I already volunteer there although I haven’t been able to go there at all since the pandemic began and everything shut down. Hopefully I can go back soon
hi, how did you do the schedule transfer? I heard something mentioned about doing it recently it but on the other hand (I also emailed about it once but was told it was not available at that time)I know that they advertised the internal transfers for other positions inside the building, and there were the other roles in new locations transfers on the app-you also have to be in good standing specific to policy to apply for this- is this the same for schedule transfer? I am presuming it is, unless perhaps one has a special case.

Thanks for sharing...seem like a good person. Appreciate the input.
i work security after hours for $15/h. and i just hang out.
I’m watching this @ 3am getting ready to go work @Amazon in 3 hours wow good info

Heavy turnaround is a key component of their business model.
Everyone, and every entity, has responsibility for this; it’s not a matter of self-responsibility alone.
that's right.. it couldnt Possibly be any Ones fault. you're so full of shit dude.
even if that true he did mention the area he lives in is hard to live in cause of the costs. your comment doesnt seem to address that theres is a unequal balance between the rich and poor these days in terms of housing costs and that many jobs just dont pay enough to get buy on. certain jobs may not exist where he is. plus like most people he was attracted to what amazon offered and later discovered it wasnt as good as it seems. california would be a better example. the reason is obvious. weather, big tech companies. hollywood. the beach. alot of those cause housing costs to be very high. if youre speaking as an employee there at amazon you should be expecting better for you as a work and not accept harsh treatment. as a worker you do have rights and shouldnt allow someone to tell you why you dont deserve them cause a company tells you so. they dont own your existence unless you give them that power. its fine if employers feel that someone doesnt deserve the money they have to pay you for. but that doesnt give them the right to avoid tax payments and to look down on workers either. theres a difference between having morals and decency than just straight out bullying and disrespect.
ps remember as worker at amazon. youre just a number to them. regardless how hard you work. they can fire you without giving you a reason
Yea the living situation in cali is the same. 60 hour work week and you still can't afford anything
American nightmare
Its gonna get worse for everybody after inflation. The cost of these bailouts and the damage Covid caused they will create a new system caled the great reset to come to a solution due to high debt and inflation and many wont like it especially in this country.
You might not last that long to even see the stocks vest. I’m ready to throw in the towel.
worked there for a couple weeks as a seasonal & couldn't fathom myself doing it for months on end. I could feel myself beginning to lose my social life. it felt like the longest 2 weeks if I'm being honest. it was literally work, eat & sleep every single day. I couldn't do anything in my free time cause I was so beat and tired so I would sleep until my next shift. (1:20am-11:50am)
to those who are applying or seriously thinking about applying I'd say do it! one thing I will never do is push my realities upon someone else. everyone is different. there could be another person that could experience the same things I did & say they love it. it's subjective. my reasoning for not continuing were not work related. I just felt I could find something better. the ppl I worked with were all super cool & each day I came in I tried to have a positive attitude. don't let anothers misfortune determine your decision. sometimes it's good to just give it a shot for experience & growth as an individual.

Great video good info. I don't know how you put in 3 years. I used to work at a book distributor as a picker back in 9/11, I was let go bcuz my percentage rate was low. I can't imagine trying to do that for Amazon.
I think they meant to get rid of you. Maybe you are intelligent and have opinions which could cause issues. They just need robots that can’t think or have a life, one day, they will replace everyone with robots, as they have hired and fired most residents in nearby towns, no one left to work for them, Now you are not a Amazon’s slave, hopefully things will get better for you.
Yes.. these positions are EASILY replaceable by robots. I'll give it at least 3 years before it actually happens

its cuz after 3 yrs the 401k starts to kick in and amazon has to give 1.5 times more than employee's contribution.

He made some great points from people that I know worked or still is working for them. They do not care for your long term health. If you work as hard as they work you your medical bills will be out of this world at age 65 or 70. Let's not forget that no one has worked this hard for them for 20 years retirement !!!!! Man you deserve something more for staying for 3 years .😩
I'm gonna start working at Amazon on Sunday night, and after watching this I'm starting to have some concerns
Go man. Many locations are different. If you don’t have a job go in and work while looking elsewhere. With a year or so of experience in a warehouse like this you can take that to A lot of different places! This video talked about positives but focused on negative personal experiences. Jobs are just that. A job. You’re not going to sit on your ass and make jokes. You’re going to work and that’s fine man. Goodluck on your start date
How’d your first month go?

@@celestebrusciano3637 the work I did wasn't bad. I only had a hard time with packing. The really downside was the 10 hour night shifts. So ya, be very careful with the hours you work
That is why the workers should have a union and an employment contract...
I don't know how you are to work with but you seem really smart. Surprised you never got moved up.
Here is the bad news! Politic is everywhere no matter where you go. There are jobs that you take as a stepping stone for a better jobs. Every five years, a person need to review your progress in life and move on to better things. If one don't do something to move himself/herself forward, then look in the mirror and blame yourself for it. Good advice for people that wants to work for Amazon so that they can prepare themselves mentally.💯👍
well here is the thing, politics have no real place in a good workplace.
@@asadb1990 Very true, but yet they are always there.

Thank you so much for this video. I was on the fence to start working in 5 days. I am so broke I may go in for 2-3 days so I have a bit of cash. My advice to you Is to work in a sort center instead of a fulfillment center as a sort center is much more of a relaxed environment as a fulfillment center has much stricter rules and performance guidelines that have to be followed.
@@dr.tobiasgoodfellow5174 You right, I'm working at a sorting center and it is tough, but compare to fulfillment it seems to be an improvement. I thought I wasn't going to last, but I'm about 6 months in and trying to save as much money I can before I quit or let go.

While you are working at Amazon and thinking about how much your boss is worth. You feel hopeless because you are only making peanuts. 😂
That’s life
Jeff Bezos could actually spend 11 million dollars everyday for the next 50 years and STILL have lots of money left over. It's absolute dog crap what his own employees are making. He could probably even give every Amazon worker a million dollars and still be filthy rich.
As airport shuttle drivers we work 15 hrs a say, 6 days a week because we get cash daily, no checks, are indepedent 1099s but since COVID the ports havent decreased our fees so me and my friends migrated to gig work and it works great but I am also curious about what most consider labor intensive, underpaid, etc. I worked for Sallie Mae, its hella political, lousy pay but stable, OT, benes and highly social. We all have to put up with corporate BS, I kinda miss the drama 😄
It's just a warehouse position. Same everywhere.
I worked at Amazon but got fired car broke down I used all my pto and upt. Amazon didn't care. I killed myself working for Amazon. Before that I worked at UPS for 13 years once I started making good money at UPS the company found some way to fire me. Fedex I worked a few days 10 hours no break. I thought about going back to Amazon thank you for changing my mind. I just started working at Wal Mart I got covid I brought a note and the manager told me to put in a for a leave. I put in for a leave and I didn't hear nothing took me off the work schedule. Didn't approve the leave these companies don't give a crap about anyone. Now I am out of work again looking for a new job but to hell with Amazon I forgot about all that pain.

I complain about my desk job everyday but I never forget that what I'm going thru is trivial compared to millions of workers in this country. I absolutely hate my job, but at least I can pay my rent and save money. I'm already transitioning out of buying things from Amazon.

Very well said! I agree, most people take for granted when they shop online. Especially when ordering big, heavy bags of pet food, 24 case of sodas. I mean seriously. The convenience of AI and technology is making people lazier. Use cash, drive to your local supermarket to buy these things.
Have you ever call the business ethics line?

3 years 👍🏻 way to go . It seems that some Amazon depots are better than others ! Here in the UK it doesn’t seem too bad . One thing most people say is if you are prepared to put in the hours the pay is pretty good ? What I have heard is the fulfillment centres are the worst ❗️
No not a job as a career. The repetitiveness is a killer. Ive worked a similar job and now have alot of physical health problems. Depression, anxiety, neuropathy, etc. My doctor says to find a different job cause it will get worse on me as i get older.
I feel the anxiety and depression daily from the AA’s and I’m HR. I walk around and feel it.
