Hot tubs aren’t high maintenance. We’ve moved five times in 42 years, and a hot tube has always been one of our first purchases. One house, my husband came home a few weeks after we moved in and said, “I bought a hot tub on the way home. You need to go pick out the color.” Granted, at your elevation it would be best under cover, but well worth it. Not only is it the best when bones and muscles are sore, it is our time to spend together without distractions. A glass of wine and good conversation. Great for a relationship. Do your homework. Get one that high rated for insulation. That’s the key.
He has a teenage son from a previous relationship. He worked on the garage build at the framing stage but is only available at holiday times due to college.
When the snow is gone, a French drain all around the back of the garage, should take care of the flooding. Drain pipe laid on a bed of gravel, will redirect the water.

In a shot looking up I noticed moisture on the underside of the roof plywood (0:23). I think it would be a mistake to drywall that ceiling until the final roof panels on the outside are in place. Even a little water coming through could really stain and damage the drywall. BTW the drone shot along the creek (7:54) is gorgeous.
After you finish the garage… you could turn the basement into a recovery center with a yoga room, infared sauna, hot tub and cold plunge. Allie and you would love it. Your older selves will be very grateful. ❤😊

Good work on the furr-downs, guys, but I'm wondering why you can't just leave the plumbing exposed in the garage, especially since the garage is heated? If anything springs a leak, it's going to be a real pain in the neck to have to tear out drywall to get to the plumbing to fix it. On a brighter note, watching Leo, Allie, Frank and Lika enjoying the sunshine is such a joy! Carry on! 🙂
That’s exactly what l was thinking!! Why not just Sheetrock up to the plumbing..? Closing it all in sounds like a nightmare because you then have no access to it if there is a leak..

No issues. i do drain and refill it two times a year...once in beginning of summer and once again in the late fall before winter. Easy bro
Trent, there is an epoxy-like substance that goes onto the cement chainwall that you apply like paint. It dries clear and seals the entire wall, cracks and all. Once the snow has melted, consider applying a couple coats to the exterior. It may help out for next year. It's gotta be dry when you apply it. I wish I could remember what it's called....but ask for it when you buy supplies. Also, since that heated doormat works so well, consider some for the steps up to the door, and maybe scatter some on the deck before the first snowfall. It may help with melting the snow.
Trent got a Snowmobile, a Rockcrawler, a garage full of tools, a car lift, a man cave and if Ally wants a Hot tub. Ally should just order her own Hot Tub. Trent would just have to suck it up.
Where the new foundation wall meets the old foundation wall you can dig (outside) to the bottom then apply a foundation membrane. You want to cover where the 2 meet with a foot wide water proof membrane. That area will never let water in again.
I really don't think he is saying he won't get it for her, but that he needs to finish the garage and get the addition going before he can consider that project. Honestly, it would be better right outside the sunroom and wrapping the deck around and somewhat enclosing it.

I have an apartment above my garage. I would check the building codes. They made me fireproof the ceiling and the wall between the house and the garage.
Hey Allie, you may want to turn your desk towards the front door for FengShui purposes (The Command Position). Ideally, there would be a wall behind you (The Mountain), but it’s optimal to face the door, but not directly (slightly offset). You could then have a second surface against the wall (like an L). You will not BELIEVE how much better it will feel once you do that!
I know you plan to build a roof over the porch, but you may also want to consider putting one over the stairs too. You use insulation support rods to hold batting up. Cheap and come in two lengths. We use a small submersible pump to evacuate ground water that pools with a garden hose away from our buildings. In Minnesota lots of people have outdoor hot tubs with an insulated cover. It gets to -39 F here and works fine.

Maybe you could get him a set of childrens brooms and shovels so he can dig and sweep to his hearts content!! Take good care. Stay positive.
Personally, drain tile bedded in gravel along your foundation of the garage coupled with better sealing around the pipe and other cracks in the foundation is the answer. Need to give the water an easier path to escape through...

If the water is coming through cracks in the foundation, you should use the hydrophobic epoxy injection process to seal them up! It’s very affordable and easy to do! Usually costs about 200$ per 10’ crack.

👍🤩😍💝@ 8:05 & 9:49 Leo is so adorable & cute in his little outfit and trying to shovel the deck.🤩😍🤗
Allie is truly the glue that holds this all together. I laughed when she was so determined to have chairs on the deck between winters.
Between winters?
Exterior foundation wall sealing. Exterior foundation wall drainage.
french drain, French Drain, FRENCH DRAIN!!!
Proper ground surface contouring.
Garage and house!
I realize your in the middle of a huge melt but, from where I am seeing it, it is a huge change each video. Good luck guys may the force be with you .
Have to say that little man is the sweetest sweetheart 💜💜💜💜
#1 priority this year - drainage system around both the house and the garage. And a drainage system inside the garage as well.
I don’t know about you guys, but I get really geeked going and being in a box store, all the stuff to look at and possibly buy.😊
I love seeing Leo and each phase he moves into. It reminds me of my kids❤. His smile is so happy & adorable. Now, he is starting to build his memories and relationships. Enjoy each step along the way. 🤗🐶
I have been watching for a while. And I can't wait to see this project completely done.
Good morning guys hope you have a wonderful weekend love you guys. Love seeing just how much fun Leo was having on the deck. He's just so so so so cute. He's the cutest baby ever. Love you guys too and your videos. ❤❤❤
Well done, Trent on correcting your grammar! It shows you care! I sure wish others in the you tube world would work on their spoken words , it does matter.
@trent You have a garage FULL of your hobbies. Get Allie the hot tub! 😅
Yes, working on “ran” vs “run”! That’s a big one for me. You got there, Trent! Good job! You ran the wire. You had run the wire. You will run the wire. 😀👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I can’t believe I just clicked on your video so early!!!! I love you guys! Have a wonderful weekend ❤️☺️
I have a stem wall that was leaking and flooding my carport. I cleaned the wall with a wire brush and painted it with clear flex seal. It fixed the water leak.
You are ALL doing well under the conditions you are working in!! It just can’t be easy. Just hang in there it’s got to dry up soon!
Love seeing Leo outside enjoying the snow shovel.
Leo with the shovel, "maybe if I take a big run at this I can break out this ice dam". Too cute, he is really on the way to growing up into a helper.
You can also tape your sleeve to the gloves.
Time to start digging snow!!!
On our garage we put up ceiling drywall with a panel lift, with extension. Then blew in insulation above drywall. Went very quick
You guys rock! Brandon is a trooper and a real friend! I love how the three of you work together! Common goals and lots of fun! Trent, get your wife and you both a Hot Tub! She deserves it you deserve it too! You both need it! Brandon and his Hunny could also come up and enjoy it too! Little Leo is a funny little guy. Any minute he will start talking up a storm and you both will be in a lot of trouble! LOL Can't wait for Monday! Enjoy and stay safe!
If the water is coming through cracks in the foundation, you should use the hydrophobic epoxy injection process to seal them up! It’s very affordable and easy to do! Usually costs about 200$ per 10’ crack.
We always sprinkle talc on our skin first. Shower as soon as done. It keeps the itchies from insulating away.
What ever happened to your construction consultant ? I believe his name is Kevin
My husband finally got us one after years of me asking, it is second hand, so just got it moved, still have to do a few things before we fill and use it but looking forward to it!
Thank God the snow is melting!! The roads look great for driving. Trent and Brandon, you both work so hard... Im so sorry about the water leaking, that SUCKS! But i have All the faith in you two that you will figure it out and fix the problem... Allie, I love the fact that you are always so positive, you always have kind words of encouragement for TRENT and the struggles you go through with the garage/ casita build... You are such a Beautiful Soul Allie and such an Amazing mother and wife❤ I love that you put the chairs up on the deck, it brings us Hope to a new season and warmer weather.... Blessings and Love to you All 🙏❤️🙏💖🙏
Pretty cool...spring soon will be back...and cute little baby, not a litle baby anymore....wow ... is getting taller and taller and so cute with his adorable smiling face ❤
No reason for the trader not to be working now. I know I know more snow on the horizon but I live where it’s often hovering around minus 30 Fahrenheit in the winter and we still barbecue lol. I agree the chairs are a wonderful idea. Hopefully you won’t get get another 20 feet of snow
Sure, you get shop lights and all your “toys” and she doesn’t get a hot tub..not fair 🤣
