Fighting in Hockey can be cool at some times but yeah a lot of times it’s a wounded ego team because you’re team is getting turbo-fisted and you need to get your frustration out because you are about to lose your job.
Adding my two cents - fighting in hockey is a good implementation of FAFO, but I also agree with banning it at the peewee level. For peewee, it sends the wrong message to developing kids that physical bullying and violence is a valid, if not honorable/humane/justifiable to gain a competitive advantage.
Part of it is that hockey is a continuous sport where players can escalate as long as they're on the ice- there's no breaking them up. Every play in the NFL ends in a break and a reset and as such ends up being an opportunity for the players to police themselves. Players will scrum after plays but so much of it happens on field. Juju's peelback block on Burfict will forever be a golden moment of player policing in the NFL.
