Prince George’s County judge removed by Maryland Supreme Court for misconduct

- Prince George's County Circuit Court Judge April Ademilyi has been removed from her position by the state's Supreme Court after being suspended since 2023, 7News learned.
Her removal at the request of the Maryland Commission of Judicial Disabilities followed Monday's oral arguments on misconduct accusations during her time , according to 7News Maryland Bureau Chief Brad Bell. It's the first time in Prince George's County history that a judge has been ordered removed, sources told Bell.
Ademiluyi was sworn in as a circuit court judge on Dec. 18, 2020.

Its about time!!! There's TOO MANY judges that are soft on crime and criminals.
It's a shame if judges are only removed for "misconduct," but not for being wrong a lot. If a judge's rulings are frequently overturned by higher courts etc, why should they keep the job?
Incompetent is what DEI does . She shouldn't have been anywhere near a court bench and the people being elected need to have a process to make sure they are qualified before being nominated by their party .

Judge Michael R. Pearson, a fellow Prince George’s County circuit judge, testified last week before the commission that Ademiluyi repeatedly sent him unwanted text messages and emails that grew more personal in nature and eventually prompted him to respond that he had no interest in a personal relationship with her.
They wont remove any of the clansmen on the bench anywhere in the country

When these candidates for judge are so young it’s hard to research them so people just vote the name because it’s on the ballot. It’s ok people to skip the people on the ballot you know nothing about.
I read she ran as Democrat lost, ran as a republican lost, ran as a libertarian won. Of course all judges you be non bias and never run under any party affiliation. She’s very young and obviously has not experienced working with the law. It would be nice to see experience as a prosecutor and defense attorney, clerking for a justice etc.
