We're so back, the problem is, the boys have no idea where we're back to.
Hopefully they find some dads to kiss
The boys are back somewhere!
@theothertonydutchthey’re back in town! Which town they’re in isn’t important
Excited to find out which places look like Florida.
All of them.
@withquillexcept florida itself
All the ones that aren't Andora.
All of them with the exception of Minneola, Florida
Palm tree? Florida.
Hotel? Trivago.
Arin sees a coniferous tree:
"Carnivorous plants"
That's my boy right there
I was looking away from my phone and looked back, expecting to see giant venus fly traps like something from Jumanji 😂
i think you mean cartiferous
@fellephant229cartiferous is literally not a word
@lilykat. yeah. tis the joke.
He is cogniferous
Arin, sees a pine tree: "This is Oregon or Maine."
Arin, sees a palm tree: "This is Florida."
@perciusmandate Except when they missed all the palm trees and guessed Minnesota. 🤣
To be fair, Florida does have a couple palm trees.
Lol yep. When literally almost every Midwest, North East, North West and some southern states have pine trees xD
"Maybe not. It's blue."
As if Florida doesn't have any private roads.
I'm a floridian refugee and I also fall in the same pitfalls.
so funny story: they banned social media for under 16s here in australia and now the kids are all outside causing havoc like the old days. naturally the same boomers that banned the kids are now mad the kids are outside causing trouble
Maybe the point is to try to get them to be productive, not just to get them off social media. That's like saying "the boomers made robbery illegal but now their mad people are committing arson."
@JackLopez92 Why the hell are we trying to make kids productive, just let kids be kids.
@JackLopez92 "the kids aren't being productive" is crazy work imma be honest. and comparing phones and playing outside to robbery and arson is even crazier work lmao
That's fucking awesome
@fuzzysham88 Maybe it's not such a bad idea after all. The internet has plenty of good stuff outside of social media, so it's not locking their creativity or anything. And they get to go outside again and see people their age? Dream come true. I think this may lead into something good if it keeps this trend up
Man who has only lived in Florida and California: "I'm getting a lot of Florida/Cali vibes here"
Me at 9:30 "Huh that kinda looks like my uncle's old neighborhood" *Location is out skirts of Atlanta* "Because it is---"
THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME
10:54 Cue me dying as they walk RIGHT past a historic landmark sign without looking at it
would really love to see a florida vs new jersey episode of geoguessr to see what grump knows their state the best 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Pinetree: Jersey
Palmtree: Fl
Thats how it'll go
Oh I hope they do this for an episode! It would be so funny😂
I love how Arin still thinks nothing south of Pennsylvania experiences winter
I mean, he's not entirely wrong. Wrong yes, but correct in spirit.
Technically incorrect; realistically spot on. Perception is a tricky thing.
I mean, as a captive of FL i get it
"Let's try Gainesville...I hate that place" briefly made me sad as a Gainesville native and then I remembered I moved away because I also hated it.
''There's a way to see if we're going North.''
Yes Arin, litterally the compass at the top of the screen...
omg i never noticed that, nice to know if i ever play geoguessr myself
@the_gaiaphage It's very useful for trying to figure out which hemisphere you're in. =)
I just thought the same thing bro 😭
@the_gaiaphageive watched captainsparklez and his friends play where the compass was a lie 😭
Was anyone else screaming at Arin as he constantly dragged the cursor back and forth over Florence looking for Fayetteville and Myrtle Beach?
@tkeithgabriel I watched him do that and said ‘IT IS RIGHT THERE!!!’
from the moment they ignored "Florance" at the gasstation
Genuinely maddening
Them not knowing that highway signs lists major cities for direction and assuming they were near Georgia when they were in South Carolina was actually painful
I've never heard of Florence
18:05 a good trick for Hawai'i is to see if there is a lack of area code. All islands use the same code (808) so typically it is omitted on signage~
"The trees are dead, that means it north" ah yes, everything under the 43rd parallel is immune to seasons
Me in South Carolina…bruh we get snow too sometimes 😂
I will never get over how every time they play this game, Arin will immediately dismiss that pine trees grow anywhere but the coldest of tundras. They grow everywhere, Arin. They're in Florida, warm sunny subtropical Florida, your own home state.
Florida isn't a home state, it's a state of mind...riddled with meth
its all the peanuts scenes betraying him clearly, not his fault😂 it is sofunny though, like in the desert pine trees are the only trees haha
Haha, I once had someone argue me that there are no Seagulls in Colorado. Same thing. Seagulls follow trash, and everywhere has trash.
Heck, pine trees grow in Nevada, where I was born. Those are about as adaptable as humans. XP
Me, someone from Alaska seeing the pine trees, yellow license plates and house types I grew up with: oh they aren’t gonna get this one lol
@classicleecatastrophe1941to be fair, a lot of the house is built around Metro Atlanta and the '80s look exactly like that too. I was thinking Mid-Atlantic myself until I saw the mountain in the background that was definitely not part of the Appalachians. Lol
@classicleecatastrophe1941 ngl, I thought it was New York. They have the same color license plates!
GOD i just wrote something so similar to this. the yellow license plates and the mountains in the background got me.
@classicleecatastrophe1941 I was thinking the same thing. Looking at it I had the thought “Wait, is that in anchorage? Have I been there?” Lo and behold, it was and I have.
okay, at least i had northwest based on the type of pine 😭
All the times Arin immediately assumes anywhere with a palm tree is in Florida, and then he finally comes across a spot in Florida and completely misses the palm tree.
Nice name.
@Roxfox Thanks. Same to you! And nice pfp!
24:14. Just so we’re clear there are tons of Fayetteville’s. Including one in NC, GA, and TN just to name a few
22:52 chef's kiss for "which way are we traveling?" with the compass right on screen. I've done the same, no notes.
I was going to comment the same time stamp. 😂
31:39 the deadpan "trauma" while staring into a wheat field perfectly describes growing up in nowhere, Kansas
Me, in the middle of my Iowan corn field:
Me, a North Carolina native, watching them dance around Florence, SC:
Honestly I was almost in tears 🤣
I screamed at my phone the entire time they were there waiting for them to realize.
I'm a South Carolina native and have been through Florence soooo many times. Dan insisting Fayetteville was in NC was painful.
I was screaming “north, north!” I bet my neighbors think I’m watching football or something
Wait, are you saying there’s a Fayetteville in SC? Because there’s definitely one in NC. I kept wondering why the heck Fayetteville, NC would be on the same sign as Savannah, GA. That makes more sense if there’s a Fayetteville in SC, too XD
Me, a South Carolinian, white knuckled during the Florence segment
Dan: confidently saying Fayetteville is in Georgia
Me: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
Tbf there IS a Fayetteville in Georgia just not that one lol
Holy shit on the Louisiana one, I saw the brown house and thought "that looks super familiar I wonder if its Louisiana" and when it ended up being I realized that was literally my cousin's house 20 years ago and I used to go there all the time! that is awesome but also super wild to me.
I just freaked the f out. That one guess of that prospect church is literally 2 roads down from where I grew up.
The biggest issue when you land in a suburb or gated community is that they're often built purposefully to be hard to navigate and leave so you're stuck in a neighborhood where every house looks the same and it feels like the minotaur's maze to escape.
Why? Wouldn't these neighborhoods want less random lost rainbows
The minotaur was kept in a labyrinth.
@TheJillers Yeah but he came out into a suburb and got lost in the maze.
why they do that
Sooooo... Is the modern Minotaur HOAs?
"This is Oregon or like Massachusetts" That is like the two furthest states from each other.....
Springfield ass
y’all could do a fucking month straight of geoguessr and nothing else and i’d show the fuck up
it's like going on a mini road trip with em
Florence just sitting on the minimap really makes me want an eye tracker, like, what is he looking at!
Same with Fayetteville being there multiple times while asking where it is, and Dan saying "No it's in Georgia" LOL
To be fair, I've never heard of Florence so I wouldn't know what to look for at all
I knew that was Louisiana! I know my state’s shitty roads when I see them!
Damn, I was BORN in Anchorage and didn't know that was Anchorage! 😂
“Cool tractor” sir that is a log splitter on a trailer 😂 11:24
"I've definitely driven down this road in my mind palace"
What a sentence. 😆
the north carolinian in me was angered when he saw a pine tree and said "no, cant be nc" PINES ARE OUR STATE TREE
24:00 Seeing them scroll up far enough on 95 for fayetteville to show right in the upper corner before going back killed me
6:18 it reminds me of Nowhere from Courage the Cowardly Dog
Strange things happen in Nowhere.
That’s pretty much the mid-west. 😂
I wouldn’t have know what mountains (or hills) looked like if I hadn’t traveled north a lot.
It looks nothing like Nowhere dude 😭 Nowhere is like, classic middle-of-nowhere dust bowl west vibes
@PuzzlingPrince For real, i was like, "Don't say that!" Lol
At first I thought that one was Colorado too until they got the sign with the area code. Fort Collins mentioned still!!!
Got exited because Arne Erickson immediately stood out to me as a very Norwegian name. So I looked him up and sure enough he was born in Norway, moved to the US and eventually Alaska, where he ran a gold mine that he later turned into a tourist attraction.
If nothing else, identifying which state by the most common license plates you see is definitely a helpful way to narrow down your location. New Jersey does have a "yellow" license plate but it's more of a faded yellow plate so it'll appear closer to white when blurred. New York's plate is the same color as the Alaska plate, but has a black band on top.
Dan is kind of a hard-ass copilot sometimes lol
seeing a palm tree IN FRAME and having them guess Minnesota 😭💔
Not me tuning into a game grumps vid for the first time in a while to find the boys starting the game three streets away from my childhood home
"All the trees are DEAD" got me crying lmao I love you guys
"Minnesota!!!" there is a palm tree directly behind that sign
Nothing like shouting FLORENCE IS RIGHT THERE at your TV to get the blood pumping.
And they zoomed out and I was like "IT'S BIG ENOUGH IT STILL SHOWS WHEN YOU ZOOM OUT!!"
Me dos 😂😂
There are two constants. One is time/change, the other is the Grump's inability to discern locations.
Watching Arin being completely unable to just go North in I-95 to find Florence was maddening. He was pixels away on several occasions before going back to street view for no reason.
The way my head SNAPPED UP when I heard that "318" lol
So their strategy to get gold is to make wild guesses. Never change, Game Grumps.
The tree at 19:15 has eyes
oh christ
oh my god it does-
It sure does
holy shit
(0 )o(0 )
"its all suburbs and trees"
as opposed to the alternative, buildings and trees
not the one in iowa being driving distance from my house and I still got it wrong
Holy shit he finally said Florida and it was actually Florida
Ironically, even though Minnesota was known for their mini sodas, they were all flat and north making said mini sodas more dreary to drink than Arin's penchant for dreary and upsetting things.
6:05 love overcast, wish it happened more often
What a friggin lunch time pull. 49 seconds ago
The fucking tree at 19:14 on the right looks like it has eyes looking at the camera 😢 I’m scared
Im so glad someone else noticed. My heart rate genuinely spiked lol
the result on that very first one was peak Geoguessr
So I've incorporated "I don't like problems" into my daily life. I say it constantly. Thought you ought to know.
24:03 me yelling THERES FLORENCE at the screen
I came here to say that lol
To be fair, they got some pretty tough ones this time around. A lot of those random suburban neighborhoods look really similar!
Being from Fayetteville and living in Savannah and hearing them talk about it is wild
This may be the first time I’ve ever seen Dan more sassy and upset than Arin. He’s usual the positive one. Sometimes we just have a bad day I guess. Hope you’re doing good Dan! Love you!
I actually really love when you look at all the porches and trees
15:58 I don't know what it says about me that I was expecting Arin to say "big mommy mountains"
This was the last recording of the day and Dan was ready to be done.
0:13 really thought that was Garry Busey
8:23 at least for someone who lives here, 406 is SO iconically Montana! Because it's the area code for the whole state, 406 branding is genuinely everywhere here. I was screaming at my phone when they didn't get it lmaoo
Arin missing the palm tree for florida was hilarious 19:23
I felt seen when they didn’t know where the 804 was even though they did a show over here😊
I thought this was going to be another reel release. So happy to see another Geoguesser!!
24:12 me SOOO excited they were about to find Fayetteville and then as soon as it touches the corner of the screen he goes straight back down 😂
How can Arin look at a crossroads with nothing but fields around and not immediately think of a middle of nowhere, flyover state?
I have family in Florence, SC so I immediately knew exactly where they were on the Florence Travel Center one. They figured it out but they were so close and far for so long 🤣
Hello back at ya from Gainesville 👋
felt that atlanta suburbs one in my bones, knew it immediately. spent the first 5 yrs of my life in tucker
Look at the garbage cans in the suburbs!
The amount of times I audibly said “look at the f**king trash cans Arin!”
I have never been more stressed out watching you guys guess Florence, SC, which is relatively close to where I grew up. I was screaming all the clues you needed.
For the love of god, there’s literally a compass at the top of the screen
22:59 If only Geoguessr put a compass at the top of the page right smack dab in the middle that you have noticed and pointed out previously
I rewatched the previous episodes recently and I swear to god they've been dropped at 6:07 before. Same neighborhood and everything
I love the quiet chaos of these episodes
I can't wait for the geo to be guessed.
Really needed this today
Arin Hanson? More like Arin Hansome, alright
8:35 something wildly delightful about them stumbling across this artists house and their cool paintings.
17:40 not gonna lie, had a similar reaction as Dan, because I was thinking "Is that the intersection from Castaway?"
there are no words for how much i love when you guys do geoguessr
Kinda crazy they got the same location, three years apart at 6:52 with another Geoguesser video. Even the game is recycling old bits.
If you're curious, the video is "When did Arin get good at Geoguesser?", or something like that.
geoguessr has sent me to the same church in Hawaii on three separate occasions. i've suspected other repeats but that church was creepy enough to be memorable.
YES I love when you play this game
I'm screaming at the Florence one bc ITS SOUTH CAROLINA!! ITS FLORENCE SOUTH CAROLINA!!!!!!!
I had that exact same Castaway thought as Dan when I saw that intersection.
Arin was about to spit a hot take about Popeye's that no one wanted to hear and thankfully got sidetracked.
I wanted to hear it
woah crazy when they end up in your hometown, it's weird seeing familiar streets in geoguesser. love from richmond!
7:28 er, yeah, I sure hope it does!
Omg I've been to that travel center in Florence, SC.
Clocked dusty-ass Myrtle Beach immediately
Dirty Myrtle! As a South Carolina native, I avoid it like the plague.
alaska is gorgeous, i saw mountains in the back when you looked down the street and thought northwestern but i was not thinking as north as alaska! it reminds me of rich cottage country neighourhoods in midland ontario (canada)
7:15 Arin thinks it could be NC, and then says “pine tree. well maybe not the pine tree”, meanwhile the pine tree is the state tree for NC lol
I knew I recognized stone mill road!!!!!
