I used to live in Abasand (and eventually Thickwood) as we were evacuating, my brother's gf told us that her brother didn't have any way of leaving his home as their dad was busy evacuating other residents by bus so my brother had took a bicycle and managed to take him to another friend's who were also preparing to evacuate as well
was the scariest day of my life
still can't believe it's been 8 years since the evacuation, and another wildfire is currently out of control as of today, praying to all my friends currently living in Fort McMurray from Lethbridge
