It's also best to push the branch all the way to the saw body. That is how they are designed. They are not designed to cut half way up the bar. Put the log or branch on the chain up against the body of the saw.
You have no idea how to use a chain saw. But some loppers and hand shears. I have one of these. It’s absolutely fantastic. Your chain is too tight. You need to oil it about every 5 cuts. All chains need oiling.

When you said the chain was Blunt. Did you check the chain was installed correctly before fitting the new chain
