  • Those of us that use an airbrush regularly have all done this at one point or another. You set your needle down too hard or even worse, you drop it right on the tip.
When this happens you immediately go into freak out mode because now you have to do 1 of 2 things, buy a needle repair tool (actually not a bad idea) and/or buy a replacement needle for said airbrush (also not a bad idea to have on hand.)
There is a third less expensive option however, and that is fixing the needle yourself using a very very simple tool....a piece of cardboard!!!

You know you might be surprised how resilient they are. I have been airbrushing for just over a year or so and this is the first time I have had something like this happen lol

Nicely done my dude! How well did it spray once the needle was fixed and polished up?

I honestly hadn’t had the chance to use it, but it seems a heck of a lot smoother than it did so I’m really hoping it drastically helps out!

Awesome info as always. What are some signs that your is needle bent while spraying ? Spatter, frequent clogs. Ect?

You actually hit the nail on the head. One of the easiest ways to see if your needle is bent or you have some other issues around the nozzle/needle tip is to remove the cap and spray using just the needle/nozzle area and go close. If you get a lot of globs and side spray then chances are the needle isn’t going in the smooth direction it’s supposed to.

Once I polished it up using the micro mesh it went away! So there is hope lol
