I haven’t liked any of the baked goods i have had so far. The first or second bite is good but then it just doesn’t taste all that great. Especially the pumpkin pie and apple strudels
I started working in the Costco bakery in 1988. This bakery was one of the best in the early days. We made about 90% of our goods from scratch ie danish dough, croissants, cookies, and many types of bread, brownies, cinnamon rolls etc. etc. muffins and cakes we had a base and added ingredients. Then Costco went to bake-off everything is made in a factory, frozen ,boxed then shipped. It’s not the same quality they used to be. And yes they use the cheapest ingredients they can get to reach the same results. So if anyone tells you they are a baker at Costco these days don’t believe it. They just need to beable to count to 12. But the pumpkin pie has always been good.
That makes sense, because, I have a cookie base recipe that, I got from The Joy of Cooking and, I can use that same base to make several flavors of cookies.
I love everything Costco offer like the chicken noodle soup.First time I bought it since I’m not aware of this it’s really good and I asked one shopper about it and she said you’re going to love it.She was right now every visit this item will be in my cart .
Love The cheesecake and Pumpkin Pie for Holidays...!! That's it... They need to make smaller portions for people of two..... Love ordering a cake for Birthdays and 🎄 🎄🎄Christmas... Excellent size for a big 🥳 🥳🥳 party!!!
We love the cranberry/orange scones! Unfortunately, Costco only has them on rare occasions. Come on Costco! We want ‘em! One more thing, bring back the combo pizza!
My favorite is the almond danishes… you have to buy two clamshells of 4 each…. Which is a bit much, but they freeze well. And, imo, they taste best after being freshened up in the toaster oven
Best bakery item I’ve ever had was a chocolate cheesecake pie, last summer or so. Before I got out the door with it, I had three people come up to me and exclaim, “Have you tried that yet?” It was beyond delicious! 😋😋😋
OH I hope they bring it back next summer. I kept hearing how good it was, and I was planning on getting one for my Birthday (July 25th). By the time we went to Costco to get one, they no longer sold them. I was so mad!
In the 90s, Costco Muffin used to be huge and I could never finish one. These days, the muffin looks like 1/2 of what it used to be, less greasy and portion right for a normal human being. The chocolate and the blueberry compliment each other!
Can't say I've ever had anything bad from Costco bakery. Their tiramisu cake is not only really good, but is a great deal. Taste good enough that the "nobody knows how to cook but us" italians that I know all love it. I also like their bagels and croissants. And those triangle chiabatas are also a favorite.
Love love love their croissants but I have to look for a container where the croissants are not flatten when, I assume, they were packed. They hold well in the freezer. I put them in my convection toaster oven to crisp the outside and warm the inside.
Just made a trip to Costco this morning here in Morelia, Michoacán,México. Very interesting to see what different items Costco offers in the United States compared to what they offer here in México. I’m sure the variety changes in their stores in other countries too. Our deli offers tinga de pollo or pollo en mole and paella on weekends.
What??? No mention of thee most fabulous Costco cookie ever??? The 4" Raspberry Crumble Topped Cookie with the light dusting of powdered sugar??? Are you kidding me??? It is THEE best cookie in the world!!! I will run barefoot to Costco if I find out they are in stock there!!! ❤️👍❤️👍❤️
That 4" Raspberry Crumble Topped Cookie with the light dusting of powdered sugar is literally to die for. Not sure why they are not always in stock (maybe they're always sold out?!) but if you find them, buy more than one package. Trust me, EVERYONE I know LOVES THESE DELICIOUS LOVELY COOKIE. They're big, moist, tender, delicately light....OMG....It's thee best confection on the market! ❤️🥳😘🤗👍
All these back to back Costco video makes me want to go there!!!! Lol. I love Costco, but usually don't buy the pastry because there's too much of it. Didn't know they were freezer friendly.
My family has been buying from Costco since it was called Price Club. My Mom has also worked there for like 20 + years. We have maybe bought 3 or 4 of the items from this list, lol. And only 2 of them have been frequent purchases. I’m very curious where the stats came from, for this list. My Mom could tell you, that the majority of these items are not the most popular/ purchased 🙈
Costco Bakery does make some really yummy stuff. Recently find the butter cinnamon cakes, oh yes! But damn I wish they would bring back the mixed berry pie and the molasses cookies! OMG! The best!!
I miss the big chocolate cake with the shavings they used to have. They got rid of it. Too bad on that! Then...long long time ago they used to have these vanilla ice cream bars that they dipped in chocolate. You could add nuts to them if you wanted. They were absolutely one of the best. Then they got rid of that.
My wedding planner actually suggested a cost saving tip to buy a Costco sheet cake to serve to everybody, but buy a small fancy wedding cake to cut in front of the guests. The sheet cake would be kept in the back away from guests & be cut up by the catering team so no one will know they're being served a perfectly delicious & cheap Costco sheet cake.
I too remember that triple berry pie -- was AWESOME! Last time I saw it was about 7-8 years ago -- along with their peach pie which went missing in action too!
I bought a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving a couple of years ago, 'cuz that's the sweetest I would want to go. It's not pumpkin filling, but some kind of squash...which was still OK...but the crust was really horrible...mushy, loaded with baking soda and tasted undercooked. We ate the filling, but the crust went into the compost heap. 🤣🤣
Our first Cosco visit. We enjoyed the bakery. At home I tried to find a pastry we bought at the store that we liked and am very disappointed with Cosco online layout. Very difficult to browse. I would rather use the online stores at Walmart or Amazon, both are easy to navigate but the one at Cosco is frustrating.
The apple strudel was discontinued last year by Costco. It is no longer available in any Virginia Costcos. It was our go-to favorite. The rest of their bakery items suffer from blah and dangerously excessive amounts of sugar and sodium. One would hope Costco could do much better! When is the apple strudel coming back???
@@howellwong11 didn't know you could freeze em. My fridge smells funny bc my parents just throw fish and meat haphazardly so I've never refrozen anything
A few weeks ago I purchased a LARGE Apple Pie. Each night I cut a slice - lasted 11 nights - and I ate the whole thing. Yummy!!!!! It was on the table with their pastries (not in the freezer.)
I've eaten the blueberry muffins and poppy seed muffins since the 1990s without issues, but last week, I had a bad reaction two hours after eating only 1 and it was the only thing I ate in a 9 hour period. My stomach felt bloated and it turned into an upset stomach for 12 hours but with no diarrhea. I researched the ingredients and xanthan gum along with the baking powder may be causing the bloating effect. It appeared to cause constipation instead of diarrhea. And the constipation appeared to make my stomachache worse. The stomachache gradually went away after I was able to do a #2. I was okay for about 12 hours, until I decided to eat 1/2 of a poppy seed muffin. Then the same thing happened again. I thought the 3rd time would be the charm and ate 1/2 of a blueberry muffin and the same thing happened again. I still have 6 muffins left and will probably not eat those. The muffins tasted good but it appears my stomach can't tolerate the ingredients in them anymore. The culprit could be Propylene Glycol, which is found in many baked goods and muffin mixes. PG can also caused bloating. FDA regards PG as GRAS (Generally recognized as safe) but I'm not so sure. At high levels PG can be toxic. May be best that I make my own blueberry muffins from scratch with no artificial ingredients and weird additives.
the croissant has been shrinking since the change in shape -from half moon to a diamond. But bread is poor quality but atleast it is not bleached bread like Safeway. Pumpkin pie& Tirimasu cake are the only good item.
If a bagel has not been boiled, it is not a bagel. I have never, and would never buy “bagels” from CostCo. Also: the Cheesecake Factory does not make a perfect cheesecake. They are far too sweet. Really, just gross. WHO made this list? What about the raspberry crumble cookie? It is the most popular, best bakery item, hands down.
Looking at the long list of ingredients, I would say there is nothing the least bit healthy or good to eat from their "bakery" Make it yourself, and avoid all the chemicals, preservatives and palm oil.
You lost me in this video when you said you didn't rank Costco's baguette higher because making baguette bread at home is easy. Most ridiculous thing I've heard this week. It is not at all easy to make baguette bread at home. Costco's baguette is excellent. If you aren't using it the same day you buy it or only want to use one loaf, freeze it, but be sure to use it within a week.
I tried the pumpkin pie.....it's horrible. I tried a second time.....same result. This has to be American. Pumpkin pie in Canada is required in October for Thanksgiving. Number 1 is wrong....they are not muffins, they taste like cake. FAIL.
most bakery items Ive purchased have been quite good, the exception was the large birthday sheet cake, tasted pretty awful, noticed all the adults scraping the icing off, only eaten by children, was quite disappointed with the taste, expected more from Costco, the lowest common denominator of cakes
I disagree with the tuxedo cake. I am a chocolate lover but this was way down on my list due to the flavour, not a good selection, leave it on the shelf and opt for the carrot cake.
What is your honest opinion of Costco?
Great company. What is your honest taste test of the baked goods?
Costco should not allow to make videos to any random person like the ones who made this.
I haven’t liked any of the baked goods i have had so far. The first or second bite is good but then it just doesn’t taste all that great. Especially the pumpkin pie and apple strudels
Wish they have keto friendly bake goods

I thought they did this when the torta rolls changed in flavor. 😢

The Starbucks croissant at more than double the price is pathetic looking in comparison to the Costco croissant. 👍
True even my pops loved it 😀

The Tuxedo cake will be a hit at any gathering. I serve it sliced with whipped cream and a few fresh raspberries. It's rich, decadent and satisfying.
We love the cranberry/orange scones! Unfortunately, Costco only has them on rare occasions. Come on Costco! We want ‘em!
One more thing, bring back the combo pizza!
We used to get that combo pizza every two weeks, but they stopped selling it. Sam's still sells it, but it's not nearly as good.
Trader Joe's has great cranberry/orange scones all the time.
@@camthesaxman3387 I actually prefer Sam's pizza over Costco's but prefer Costco's hot dogs over Sams.

I’m gonna have to check out the danishes! I am SO happy that Costco opened a second location in the Des Moines Metro! We definitely needed it!
One of your best videos! Would love to see one like this on the Kroger or Publix bakeries!
No cinnamon pull aparts at my Costco this Christmas. Devastated.
Costco croissants and their chicken salad…awesome!

The Raspberry Crumble Cookies are the best. $8.99 I think for 12.

Oh God, I had to stop buying them as I couldn’t stop with just one. They are so delicious.
The Braided Strudels are exceptional. They need 10 minutes in the convection oven.
We love the Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse cake. We have it for every holiday, It's SO DELICIOUS!
Love Costco bakery. The cakes are great, love the cookies and the cheesecake is as good as the Bronx.
Has this person ever used a microwave? If you put the braided pastry in one for "a few minutes" it'll turn into molten lava and ruin the bread 😂
