You do realize that people who play pokemon brick bronze are mostly people who have never owned pokemon or can’t buy it? This can be looked at as an assumption the same as you made that most of the people buy the actual games.
@@pugintention2530 Most people playing fangames/romhacks have played an actual pokemon game. It's one of the most popular IPs in the world and the average person has a hard time getting romhacks to work - fangames are more niche to top it off. I got into the series because of the OG 2d games, and stopped around sun/moon because the games were just... kinda shit? That and I couldn't even come close to justify buying a switch just for one game. I'm firmly in the 'it stopped being good once it went 3d' camp and can list plenty of reasons as to why I think that. Nowadays I just play fangames, and if nintendo took all of them down I'd just forget about the IP - they're not losing sales on worse products I'd never buy. Might as well answer the actual post question but Reborn -> Rejuvenation.
RUclipsrs finally catching up to fangames but starting with the oldest and most crusty ones. Good lord I remember playing Insurgence in middle school or something like 9 or 10 years ago and now big channels like Alpharad are randomly playing it. If you want _quality_ fangames, look towards the reborn trilogy (though reborn itself is also a bit old), or the Spanish scene. Altas just got its english translation and it's pretty great. Reborn had a 10+ year development cycle and is like a 100+ hour long game with everything you could ever want in it. It blows any official game out of the water if you can get past the somewhat cringe typical edgy fangame plot. Not to say it's a bad story, it just... has its moments. Still more interesting then any actual pokemon game plot though. Soulstones 2, Infinity, Vanguard, Rejuvenation, Desolation, there's just so many better 'modern' fangames around now. Also PKMN CLOSE COMBAT is the better 2d fighter fangame tbh
FYI Delta Pokemon were introduced in the Pokemon Trading Card game in 2005, when you were about 2 years old 😂 So the presence of Delta Pokemon in Insurgence is actually just a fan adaptation of that aspect of the TCG
originally I saw your comment and thought you might've gotten mixed up with something else but after actually searching up the term "delta Pokemon" on google... yeah it seems like I was actually wrong lol. I guess it is worthy to note that that insurgence does a lot more with delta Pokemon than TPCI/Gamefreak ever has and the concept of taking Pokemon and modifying them still starts with insurgence BUT yeah they can't technically sue them I guess
Pokemon infinite fusion isn't a rom hack its a fan game. It's a recreation of fire red's world but it wasn't built in frlg's engine. A gba would be able to handle a gazillion sprites. Also if has a hack it would have you download a patch file and would have you supply your own rom. Delta pokemon aren't a new thing for insurgents, they are from the tcg. Also there's this fan game I remember seeing people play as a kid called super eevee edition. I couldn't get it to work on my PC because it struggles with rpg maker. I feel like shouting it out though.
I understand where your coming from and even though I never fully distinguished the difference between a ROM hack and fan game in the video I decided to lump Infinite Fusion along with the rest of the Rom hack section since it still borrows a ton of aspects from the original FRLG, such as the story, characters, gyms and lack of fakemon. Compared to something like xenoverse that introduces all those aspects in a new light (you can argue that unbound should be apart of the Rom hack section but the game literally starts up with "this is a Pokemon fan game" so I thought it would be appropriate to just call that a fan game in the video the delta Pokemon part was just a brain fart on my part lol I never knew delta Pokemon existed in the TCG And personally I never actually checked out super eevee edition but I'll see what it's all about!

Not that I already lost hope about the mainline games, but having all this "back up" in the community, makes the future seem a bit brighter. Thanks for telling me that 😊 And about Rejuvenation - it's good that you didn't use the game for the video. Because the game would have been just too long 😂 You can easily spend 100 hours into it without even coming to the point, where the game ends for now. Which is also why I'd recommend to play the game for yourself the fist time. No stress, no recording for a video, just enjoying~ And with that, I wish you an awesome day and thanks again for the change of perspective 😁
Just like, as a side note. Pokemon Brick Bronze actually did directly make a profit through in game purchases with real money, as for Uranium, I *believe* they had a Patreon going (I could be wrong, if so please feel free to correct me). To me, I feel like the Pokémon company is trying to take their time. This is the first year we have not had a new mainline pokemon game. And we have still not seen anything on legends z-a. To me, it seems like they are slowing down to give the games the time they need. And I am excited for what comes next after scarlet and violet, minus the bugs, we’re in my opinion the best pokemon games ever. I will die on that hill
Ya I mean giving TPC’s track record I dont think they deserve the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully they are taking their time but it more seems like they want to release the game along with the new switch. So even though they are taking longer its more for the new console
