Nice to have a bit of a longer video from you. Love the short stuff too, but I like getting a fuller picture of what you are getting at sometimes. Thanks for the video.

You are one of the few photographers who says you don't need the kit. You've just stopped me wasting money on a lens and backpack I don't need. I hit a wall and thought that was doing something about it. Instead I've gone out with a camera and just started taking anything, evaluated the shots and gone back and re-took some of them, only better. It seems to help. Thanks. Love what you're doing, you are a one off, a genuine original who's worth listening to. Got the brain working again. I always buy secondhand and haven't gone mirrorless either. Enjoying the price dip on Canon EF gear.

I really enjoyed this video, basically "stay true to youself" is the overall message 😊 which I totally agree. Also really cool seing someone say that followers are good if you porsue that, if you don't, it doesn't.

Saying 50% was pretty subtle, I think it's 85%. Excellent video Scott. Thanks for sharing your vision.

Not knowing your working class untill you get to college is very relatable! I went to art college and have a degree in fine art specializing in digital media. What made my art in college really stand out and feel personal was how I related it to my own experiences. After college I fell into shooting product photography and I do love it I love the process but I find my work recently while technically on point, becoming very static and clinical like it's lost it's edge. This video really helped remind me that the skills I learned in art college can and should be transfered to product photography too. It's all visual art at the end of the day it doesn't matter if it's glitch art on a projector or product photography, It needs to true to me. Thank you!

Wow. Your videos and messages really resonate with me. Also, there are some uncanny commonalities with our backgrounds. Previous tech project manager who initially started uni studies to be a violinist. Also very much into cycling (but far from pro ambitions there). And now 1.5 years into the conversion from tech PM to generalist photographer in France. Starting as generalist because I need all the practice I can get and I frankly don’t know what my genre “should” be yet. Just kind of paring it down over time by eliminating things that I don’t care for (so far food has been one such choice, but probably for the wrong reasons). Anyway, thanks for all the good content. It really makes a difference to me.

At mm 7:10 you talk a bit about there being a difference between a top photographer and a top "online" photographer. I understand your gist here, but I'd love you to delve into this more. If you've already done a video on it, can you point me to where it is? Thanks for creating this content as I'm truly interested and learning.

When you showed examples of work that gets ridiculed online, that was a bit of a shocker. I guess trying to make anything slightly original or different exposes one to the ridicule online. It just shows from how a low place online trolls come from
