Does it change the action of keys ? Keys are coming back up slower when I play. Is there anyway to fix this ? I sent the piano to voicing and regulations. These people couldn't figure it out.
I recommend contacting the local authorized dealer you purchased your system from. Allow their technician to troubleshoot the problem. If it is hardware related, PianoDisc offers a five year warranty on the electronic components they manufacture. All the best.
Can these be used as external midi devices? Would I be able to connect my computer and have it feed midi data through it? This would be amazing to have.
I don't think that you can play any type of music files, except the ones created by the company. Those files have to have information about how the pianist plays music on a piano, actually, how he or she strikes the piano keys.
Alan Roberts comments are right on target. I have a piano with Piano Disc which does not work any more and Piano Disc will not support it ,they have no parts for it and could care less about my system they only want to sell there new system because the technology moved on, and want me to plunk down another $3500 for it. Scam Company run away....
does this also do midi, for example to connecting to computer, and perhaps midi into the piano, so the piano plays a midi file, or even a playback from say Garageband from a computer
It has MIDI in and out on the controlling unit. So yes it is capable sending and receiving MIDI cc from your computer. Sadly no cc64 which would require another actuator for the pedals.
Evan, you need to contact your local authorized dealer for pricing info. They have to factor in their labor plus transport of your piano to and from their shop. Please contact PianoDisc at 916/567-9999 for the dealer nearest you.
You must have a minimum of two years experience in piano regulation and attend one of our free installation courses held in our factory. Please contact our Tech Support team at 916/567-9999 and they can send you the current schedule. There is definitely a need for more installation and service techs.
Yup ! All sounds great doesn't it ? ! --- until 5 or 10 years from now when the technology has moved on a little --- your player system needs replacement electronic components such as a memory board -- what's that ? they don't make them any more ? oh , now what do I do with my piano that won't play by itself ? shucks! I should have bought one of those vintage players that use wood , animal glue and skin in their construction -- THEY can be repaired !! unlike your Piano Disc system which will be redundant in only a few years from now !
Most old folk who have this system fitted will be dead by the time of failure so it doesn't much matter , anyway , getting all that animal glue and muck replaced you talk about will cost more than a replacement electronic system do you think we could get the guy to smash a bottle of bubbly at the piano like when they launched the Titanic ?
dam he was about to get some at the end
The perfect selling video. ;)
Seriously - I love this idea.

How much does it cost to install one of these on a 1978 Yamaha Upright?
