- just greg remake -- remember that i had an abandoned remake of this? well it was time to do it again .. i hit three birds with one stone because i could use the same project to remake all 3 known demos of hold your colour
January demo: they played this at vienna and pirate station, earliest known one, does not have more vox than the soaking through vox

February demo: same as january demo except that it has the hold your colours vocals in the intro. adam f has it and played it out around that time (it is suspected that he got february-march versions of tunes)

Essential mix demo: not a lot is known about this version regarding when and how it was made, but it's a little longer than the others, does not have the hold your colour vox for some reason but has guitars and a loud shaker throughout the track. unusual. despite them playing it after the release of hyc, it still is 100% an earlier version than the final, rather than a VIP.

the essential mix actually does not use the vip intro. it's mixed in there but its a different file. you can tell when the the actual demo comes in when rob's singing 'when they take everything away' right after a bit of silence during his solo, as you can hear the vip buildup and the demo buildup happen at the same time. it's noticable how the original pads and sounds fade in from nothing
Yea I noticed after listening to it again earlier, still though, with the VIP intro it's pretty much perfect. But I've done that myself now using both your versions. Again, much love! (p.s. you couldn't by chance send me the Another Planet VIP if you still have it, I didn't get a chance to download it and the files expired)

considering this early version seems to more closely resemble the album version, where does the "Bipolar Mix" fit into this?
bipolar mix was made at the end of 2005, after the release of HYC and even the debut of this special mix. to be fair it isn't known precisely what its purpose was but if i had to guess it was technically a VIP born out of the track being prepared for live play for nye 2006
