Yes Saloma, her husband P Ramlee, sister Mariani, P Ramlee's ex-wife (2nd wife) Norizan (am not sure if she's there) , their friend Aziz Satar and her stepson Nasir P Ramlee are buried there. Once walking through the cemetery I could easily recognised the graves of P Ramlee and Saloma as both of the graves sitting next to each other is fenced in. But now the fence is gone. FYI, before the highway was build, there is a small bridge crossing the river, for pedestrians and cyclist as there was once a squatter village behind the Renaissance Hotel making it easier for the villagers of both to move around, access is through the cemetery. Well that was about 25 years ago.
That's interesting. I never thought about how it might have been before the highway. It makes sense that there would have been some small bridges across the river back then.
Ampang line underground LRT goes right thru under their grave When that LRT line first open back in 1998, there a rumours that some passenger seing those two couple sitting in that automatic driverless LRT 🤣
The line u were using is mrt sbk(sungai buloh-kajang) line. If u use bukit bintang mrt underpass...pintu E (door E) will lead nearest to pavillion without having to cross the road.
Yea i've been watching his channel as well. Nice to see that you do a lot of collabs with locals and expats. Thats young jackfruit which you can cook as vege. The egg is actually salted egg used as an appetiser.
Back to your long rambles in KL ; reminds me of the many trips that you took couple of years back. Going to the top of Petronas or the Menara unfortunately entails taking in the views along with the haze .
Kampong baru is in the process of a massive redevelopment it will change dramatically over time.. as for the jackfruit curry its a young jackfruit which are cooked as a vegetable because it not sweet.. the salty egg is actually aged preserved eggs in salt.. its very similar to the famous chinese 1000 year old eggs.. it come in many style of preservation..
Love your vids Doug. Im a firefighter in Australia, and we receive respirator training annually. It doesn't matter if you wear a pn95 or a p3 full faced respirator, if you wear it for more than 20 minutes it becomes detrimental to your respiratory system because moisture builds up and collects pathogens. Unless people change their masks every 20 minutes, they are useless and become a health risk. But just like the authorities always say, follow the science, but only THEIR science, which makes no sense. The scamdemic is slowly being revealed
Saloma Bridge is best to visit at night if possible, so maybe next time before you leave Malaysia, you might wana visit.. Also, Kg. Baru train is called LRT. Then one u took to Pavilion is MRT and its called Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line or MRT 1. The last station is no longer Sungai Buloh but Kwasa Damansara, and from there it is interchanged with the new MRT 2 line (opened half of the line).
I was actually confused about that. I eventually remembered that the line was called Sungai-Buloh-Kajang, but when I looked at the RapidKL map, I saw that it ended at Kwasa Damansara. And that didn't make sense. Now I understand.
Actually 8n after the klcc mall you can walk straight till the end and go down the stairs and to the klcc lrt station and walk straight, and then went up the stairs into the Avenue K mall without you having to cross Jalan Ampang.
No, I don't have a drone. When it looks like the camera is floating in the air, it's because I sometimes use an Insta360 One X2 camera. And it makes the selfie-stick invisible. It gives the illusion that someone else is holding the camera or that it is flying through the air. 🙂
Mr Doug,,,there is tons of sitting in the Starbucks,,,why do you choose the most uncomfortable sitting,,, I think it's in your blood,,,, hahaha 🤣 Stay safe and stay happy 🇲🇾😁
I think it would be quite helpful to everyone involved if you linked to the channels of your RUclips friends when you mention them. Good for the viewers to find new content, good for your friends to get new viewers.
The fountain had 3 races, cos Indians and Chinese and citizens carrying the Malaysian passport, not like the Pakistani and Bangladeshi workers. So, Malaysia is multiracial due to this fact. The Bangladeshi and Pakistani will one day go home to their own countries. Just like Saudi has a large foreign Indian population but that doesn't make Saudi multiracial.
Saloma and P. RAMLEE were the great artistes in malaya and singapore long ago. Multi talented.

Doug at around 9:00 in video was wondering what MRT line he was on earlier, and at 9:44 was looking for exit to the Pavilion.
You have excellent video/audio recording equipment. Makes the experience of watching your channel very enjoyable.

All the free go KL busses are painted in one colour so that they can assign the busses to different lines /routes depending on the demand.
Doug, Saloma sings and also acts in Malay movies in her lifetime. She was the wife of another famous Malay singer and actor, the late P Ramlee.
Next, please pay a visit to the P Ramlee Memorial located in Setapak, KL and also his birth house located in Penang.
