Chief of WG Trng., then the 62nd OSS/DO, then the 62nd OSS/CC for 4 months at the CC deployed overseas. Previously at Charleston AFB 1996 to 2000. Lots of follow on assignments... Absolutely breathtaking video...well done!!
The C-17 wants to be a fighter so bad, it can taste it…😁👊🏻🇺🇸
I don't remember ever designing Bose A-20's into the C-17 LOL
C-17 from Grissom ARB non stop to Rhein Mein AB Germany, 2003. That was a great ride. What a great airplane.
The pilot looked very young and it looked like he was on a training flight with an instructor?
Absolutely a training flight!
Yes it was a training flight. Fully active pilots wear a regular flight suit.
@@Thunderbolt462 must be new. Wasn’t like that up to 2008.
Seats look like they are upholstered with Cookie Monster fur, nice
Un grand merci pour cette vidéo passionnante +1
Looks like the right seat is instructing the left seat. Is that correct?
Thanks for the awesome ride. Felt like that was me in the jump seat.
guy on left being trained by guy on right. well done. very impressed.so young and trained right...
If you want a thrill ride try a tactical landing and takeoff in a c-130J
I did, in and out of Baghdad. One hell of a ride!
Was gonna say....what, no JATO?
C5 Galaxy is awesome to watch take-off and land. It's so big that it seems like it's not moving
The pilots are so young and I am so old.
I know. They look like they're about 19 or 20 or so. But they know what they're doing.
thanks for the virtual ride.
You are welcome 👍
Selah Airstrip, Yakima WA. :-) It's been shut down for 15 years and reopened last year.
That's my guess as well. Yakama Firing range, or whatever they're calling it these days.
Seeing all the 737-MAX planes that's Moses Lake.
CloudNine... Just found this video of yours... Nice. KMWH. Grant County IAP. Moses Lake, WA. I know it very well. I was in the C-17A 16 years from 1996 to 2012. I was at McChord AFB from 2000 to 2003 as the wing transitioned from C-141Bs to the new C-17As. Initially in the 7 AS. Then up as Dep. Chief of WG Trng., then the 62nd OSS/DO, then the 62nd OSS/CC for 4 months at the CC deployed overseas. Previously at Charleston AFB 1996 to 2000. Lots of follow on assignments... I did a LOT of training flights, high speed low levels into and out of Moses Lake as a C-17A IP, training our very YOUNG crew force. Surprised this crew isn't using the "tactical" C-17A specific assault concrete runway 09/27 (3,500 x 90). Regardless...great to be a part of the USAF that trusts, empowers very young Airmen to safely fly (both pilots and loadmasters) a then $250M aircraft day/night, on NVGs as required, in tactical operations, airdrop, globally in support of the American people. THX. Randy L. Witham, Col, USAF (Ret.)
Nice to see the Air Force finally woke up and gave those pilots a Huey's cyclic stick grip! Better control touch..ha ha
I expected the right seat to identify himself as MAVERICK. But that was Navy. Great video. Wish I was young again. Scoops and Flaps from USN Retired.
Lol thought the same thing Jim...BTW does anyone know why his hand never left the throttle on take off as normally at V1 the hands come off in a commercial plane
Looks like they're taking off from the Yakima firing Center outside of Yakima Washington
That’s exactly where they took off, no runway number. I was looking for awhile
Yep, then landed at Grant County on the super long runway
Mike from Sacramento CA, I remember these babys, I was on one when it was fully loaded with vehicles and equipment, barely room for your knees. I'm a Navy veteran, MIUW1920
Your adrenaline must be pumping taking off in one of those !!!
Such an awesome video! Thanks for posting it!!!
You are welcome!
This was my dream job when I was a kid. Every day, I kick myself for not doing it.
Thank you for your service.
Do your parents know that your out flying this big jet????????
@@maqthedon8969 Boy did that go over your head Lidstrom !!! I was paying them a compliment on how young they are. Im also a pilot - so nothing needs to sink in other than your trying to turn my comment around as an insult on these fine young pilots serving our country. Think next time before you comment.
Interesting yoke !
Derek Lidstrom - woosh
Maq TheDon do you feel stupid now, Maq?
Shhh don't tell mom I took the keys from my dads drawer 👀
The engine sound is second to none. Nice flying. The people that hate this video are probably living in a cave?
Wow, look at 13:26, those appear to be a whole lot of 737-Max that Boeing cannot deliver yet.
... good Job douglas/boeing 👍👍👍...
The pilot in the left seat looks like he's about 19....lol........God Bless our troops. The best of the best!
lol ))
The pilot doesn't look like he's much older either. Must have had some fabulous intensive training.
dit was echt mooi, wat een jonge piloten nog echt geweldig dat je dit mag doen
Damn, I know I'm getting older but, but, these pilots! LOL Cool vid.
I thought the tac descent would be steeper on final. But, I'm comparing that to what I saw in Vietnam. Cheers to my brothers in Blue! (Bob Powell, CMSgt, USAF (Ret) 1965-2000)
Thank you!
these young people will fly better than old pilots
The C-17 sure demands a lot of attention from the pilots :) very cool video
Wow those are the coolest planes ✈️!!!
Your departing from KMWH, Moses Lake Grant County Airport.
Landing there... But not departing from.
they landed there
Flying through that big ass Cloud was crazy.
