    Love this concept--showing the looming world and exaggerations of self closing in and juxtaposing it with people in their everyday family and friend lives. At the end, it looked like a family just having some time together and a BBQ, but it felt like a humanitarian aid or mission organization distributing food because of the wreckage of the city seen in the background. "How can I keep your heart, keep your heart when the gold rush goes dark." Amazing!

    Both videos- I've listened to THIS track since it came out, 50x. It's mesmerizing. And the lyric line, omg, "when nobody knows who we are, can I still have your heart"?
    It's pure love in that question. Just beautifully done lyric and melody are Perfect. 🩵🩵

    Is the word 'magic' not a bit weird in the Christian world? Because magic is associated with witchcraft. And witchcraft is not something of the Kingdom of God?

    • @FrozenBlade77

      This comment is strange. I don't think you understand what the song is about.
      It is a reference/inspiration to CS Lewis' work on The Chronicles of Narnia.
      'The Deep Magic can be seen as an allegory for "Natural Law", a philosophical concept that claims there are innate rules of right and wrong understood by all human beings. The source of this law is said to be above and outside of humans (i.e. God) and is a concept central to all civilizations.'

    • @thecommonnarrative1777
      @thecommonnarrative1777 Год назад +1

      Why assume that? Is God not the God of the miraculous and supernatural? Maybe one of The greatest deeds the Devil can do is have us think magic and the supernatural order is associated with “ witchcraft”

      As stated earlier, it’s a reference to a chapter in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.
      The Deep Magic from the Beginning of Time is the laws that govern the natural world, and also the rule of the law of good and evil itself. In LWaW, the Deep Magic gives The Witch the right to slay Edmund for being a traitor.
      However, there is another magic-the Deep Magic from Before the Dawn of Time that the witch did not know, but Aslan did. It is the way of both law and mercy, and allows that a perfectly innocent substitute could die in the place of a traitor, freeing the traitor forever while fulfilling the requirements of the law.
      I’ll trust you to work out the meaning of the allegory.

    MAGIC, the anti-thesis of Christianity! Magic is man manipulating the senses to produce desired results, whereas miracles, acknowledge a Being outside of space and time and Their intervention in this physical world! This song would be very misleading to unbelievers and young believers alike. So sad that many Christians overlook error for talent! This man may be a talented songwriter and singer, but talent never supersedes sound doctrine!

      Deep Magic is a quote from Chronicles of Narnia. It’s not all to be literal. It’s Literature. Metaphor. Poetry.

      @thegoodfight426 Год назад

      @@johnmarkofficial Our culture is so indoctrinated into believing in magic and so ignorant of what it really is. If Paul himself wrote this quote, I would have to call him out as well. As an artist you have artistic license, however, you are held at a higher standard than other artists because you are an ambassador for the King, Himself. In a world so mixed up and upside down, please don't add to the confusion! We have to be the voices crying out in the wilderness that make clear the will of God, and magic is an imposter that impedes the truth of God's miraculous power. May we refuse to to aid this deception in any way in Jesus' name!

      @@johnmarkofficialthank you for taking a minute to explain it. Coming from you I knew there was a deeper meaning. I find it hard to believe that anyone that knows your music would take the reference of deep magic to be referring to literal witchcraft. Great song, great lyrics. I just stumbled upon this album and I’m blown away.

      @maltomeal3 I would say in return, go read the Bible. 🙂 CS Lewis isn't my final authority. The Bible is. All throughout the Bible, we see the magicians used to oppose God's prophets.
