Sure do y’all think I’d miss bloopers. I’m surprised that Diesel didn’t get into more of the shots, I know mine sure would’ve had to be the stars
I couldn't help but notice how much the main support bar attached to the hitch receiver bends when you load up. This is quoted from Mad Ramps site
"Add together the total weight of the MAD-RAMPS Pivoting Ramp System (151 pounds) and two-thirds of the weight of your ATV or UTV (⅔ = machine weight x 0.67)."
2018 CAN AM XMR weight=990 lbs dry
Mad Ramps weight =151 lbs
990x0.67+151=814.3 lbs.
Class 3 hitch tongue weight up to 800lbs.
You guys are on that thin line. I would keep an eye on the structural integrity of your receiver if you plan to use this ramp system. I'm not even going to get into the weight distribution issue with having your quad sitting 1/2 to 3/4 way off the bed.
Very wise...and accurate.
At the cost of $1000 USD I’d rather buy a small utility trailer to pull my atv that’s crazy
Would take a ton of weight off the axle too and free up the bed for storage.
I was thinking the same thing.
That would be the wiser choice if this thing costs $1000
Wow! Might take some time to fully trust those ramps. Seems like a lot of weight hanging off the ass of that truck. Great Bloopers!
If you ever get them in your hands you'll know they can be trusted :)
When you put that amount of payload behind your axle it's dangerous. I dont like them. I'll tow a trailer any day.
But you hook a trailer to the bumper and tow it! How much does it weigh 750-800lbs? Similar to tongue weight on an enclosed trailer. It’s just a flawed design.
@@turbomustang8417 someone who has the same thoughts as myself 👌 people aren't the brightest these days 🤦♂️🤦♂️
For sure.
@@turbomustang8417 nope. I hook a trailer to my reciever hitch witch is mounted much lower than my bumper and my hitch tongue rating is 600 lbs. With a 6000lb trailer capacity. I can tow 2000 pounds of trailer and 2 atv's combo and my tongue weight is around 250lbs. My bed is empty for other items I may need.
@@foxracing0211 I've had many different brands of ATV's, dirtbikes and snowmobiles in the back of my truck with a 6.5" bed. The longer the snowmobile the lighter my steering got. The heavier the atv the more body roll I got and lighter steering. I can tow my snowmobile trailer 65mph and corner alot better than having a atv or mountain sled in the back. Your axle is a fulcrum, the more you put the weight behind it the worst the steering and handling gets......DUH. did you miss the part of school about weights and measure and fulcrums?!!! I Guess some people ain't that smart these days!!!
Ive seen those before , not big fan how far back it sits off truck . But I’d need to see in person one day . And I love the dog at end , he wanted to be part of show lol 😂
Far better than a trailer, assuming you're solo of course. The angle it's on makes your departure angle as good as you were with out it.
Mainville ATV and Outdoors , I hear ya . I’d need to demo one or see in person . Hard to decide on video . My set up works good for me . Good video though 👍🏼
Buy a truck with a real bed and spend $100 on ramps. “It’s as easy as that!”
Well that a problem when you have the truck already
@@gardnetbush9768 you mean you don’t have a real truck my wheeler fits in my box with the toolbox up front🤣! Real trucks don’t have spark plugs
U know it is getting harder to find the 8 footers. Truck dealers can’t keep them on the lot and the half bed it the “new normal” I have a 2019 8 foot and I had to order it and test drive one with a short bed. 🙄😤
@@duffman1241 I solved the case. He listens to hip hop no wonder he knows nothing
@@duffman1241 dude I sold my diesel. To cold where I live, went back to 3/4 ton gasser. Diesel took forever to warm up
great video, was looking into something better for transporting just one ATV and not having to use my big enclosed trailer. the bonus to this video is i get to see it on the back of a Ram Rebel a i just bought a Rebel last Thursday January 4th. thanks for the video.
That looks like an accident waiting to happen buy a truck with an 8 foot bed.
Not sure that solves the problem that they're solving here........ loading. IOWs ramps.
Great job on the video. I'd be interested to know how the extra rear weight affects the handling of the truck. Always good to see diesel. He's upping his actor cred.
I suppose I can only speak for myself, and my air bagged rebel but I had zero issues at all. Couldnt tell it was there really
One more blooper: You totally missed the part where you secure the atv with lines in order to safely transport it. :-)
In fact you could make a video how to safely strap your atv for various transporting situations.
It would be interesting to see how mush weight that setup takes off of the front STEERING axle.
There are been set ups that take the weight off tailgates for years by using the trucks rear hitch and some linkages to support the rear of quads. This is no different.
It will do that- bad for breaking and handling. A trailer with trailer brake is a safer solution.
This is perfect for people with limited parking and storage space. Trailers take up space . And not everyone has the room for a longer truck. I have a crew cab 8’ box .I am fortunate to have just enough room to park it in my driveway. Before that I had a 6’6’’ truck bed and used an atv riser platform to get the quad in enough to close the tail gate so I could tow a trailer if needed.
Her yoga pants was the only good thing about this. Ramps are gonna knock someones teeth out and for that price you can buy a utility trailer.....
Maybe next time you could complete the review with how the quad offloads and how you remove and store the ramps when not in use. Just a suggestion.
Good point.
Nice video guys, my 700 griz rides in the back of my Tundra double cab 8’ bed. I watch all your vids. Thanks
So much room for activities! My baby box ram, not so much. They are the perfect product for me! Thanks for watching Jim!
Mainville ATV and Outdoors you guys rock
Are those safety approved flip flops for working in a shop. Lol that's a pretty handy setup.
I approve of all high speed low drag safety equipment in the Mainville shop!
What a hokey setup! If that Canam is a 1000…. I bet that pickup could do a wheelie if you punched it. 🙄 Imagine some kid using that contraption on a 5’ bed. Lol….. and it looks goofy as hell.
I'm more interested in the long term effect on the tailgate.
“Today we are going to be reviewing and installing... diesel” 😂
hahaha, doggo is a good shop dog :)
@@MainvilleATV my dog is getting old, he used to run and play alot but now he just lays there, wags his tail and looks at you.
Cass is rocking!
Thanks! - Cass
She did a good job.Love the mad ramps.
Thank you! I was so nervous haha. - Cass
@Tsunauticus III Very nice of you to say! Thank you :) Cass will love reading this
If I’m leaving my tailgate down anyway, there are much cheaper options out there.
Best things
No paying for a plate, MVI and insurance
Don't have to store a big trailer either
Lol, Loved the bloopers at the end. Awesome job.
Its easy when your wife is a natural born clutz :)
My woman responding - I would never be without a diesel pickup and gooseneck or Tufflift(hydraulic sled deck, which uses snowplow motor and cylinder to set deck down over a closed tailgate. Things I never knew existed, now my superman shows me all about - traded in my bmw suv for a lifted duramax like my superman's
You're a natural Cassandra.
Loved the bloopers.
Love the bloopers! Looks like an awesome product. Don't forget to strap the machine down though!
I never woulda been installing these ramps with flip flops. Drop any piece of this system on those toes and you'll be in a mess. BTW, that Girl has a rockin body!!!
Hey, I salute the effort in innovation. I’ve worked on ideas and got to the end of the project and realized that it’s not gonna work. At least they got the name right.
Wow awesome job cass it was like i was watch a commercial or a tv show really professional again great job on the vid. I think they need to use this to advertise their ramp
Im really glad you think so! We're always unsure of our work but people like you make it far easier!
@@MainvilleATV i absolutely love the quality of your content an how you get involved an like talking to the camera explaining different things. An u actully take time out an try to respond to every comment that you get that says alot about how you are an that its not just veiws an how much you can make from youtube. You actully care about your veiwers an what they have to say and think.
Great Job Cass. I've seen this system in person and it's a pretty neat setup and I'm sure you guys will find it handy.
I know what you mean about towing a big trailer around for one quad, all we have is a 18' car hauler. Great for two or three quads but overkill for one haha.
Great video, nice product
Nice unit. looks easy to install.
Hot host!
Awsome idea.
Do the back tires just strap to the pivot ramps?
Nice job on the video guys, you're really upping your game and it shows! Question for you, do you find your steering "light" with the load of the ATV sitting so far back?
Thanks Gary! We are trying to improve slowly but surely. I didnt experiance that at all especially considering my trucks on airbags.
That’s good as long as you don’t have to hit the brakes to turn a curve your set.lol
I'm the 79th like. I might be getting a Yamaha grizzly eps soon. Reply or like so i can show my parents the support. Lol or don't if you don't want to.
Support! Support! Support! XD
@@MainvilleATV I'm buying it off a woman in Montana living with her parents for $1,000 because her husband passed away.
That is a ridiculous ATV. Lol. To bad they don’t sell 8ft beds trucks anymore. Thanks for the video
Nice well planned out design
Nice neighborhood.
Thanks!
Nice job Cass and the only thing I see you really did wrong was........SAFETY PLAID!!!!! Lol y’all are fun to watch and I am really glad I found your channel!! Kyle get that Lady some Safety Plaid haha !! Have a great one
We have literally closets full of plaid lol
Mainville ATV and Outdoors lol I have a few pieces myself but I normally run earth tones. I don’t worry about anyone else being able to see me because 99.9% of the time I am alone. Oh and by the way I as a viewer and subscriber do enjoy that y’all take the time to interact with with the commenters, for that I say thank you very much!! It adds a personal touch and keeps you real people not just personalities on YT.
We do try our best, thanks for watching! It helps up keep doing what we do. - Cass
Great video agan 👌👍
Thanks!
I bought a leftover 2017 6x14 trailer brandnew for $1100.00 bucks.by the way take that quad out and get some mud on it.
Very Slick!
Thanks nice video...BUT gonna stick with my smaller cargo trailer!
Man I need this I’ve got the MAX as well so I’ve always had to use the trailer this would definitely help a ton
I hear your struggle man! Shes a game changer no doubt!
Why do you need a trailer I got a short box GM and I have a MAX and it fits perfectly in the box with tail gate down
Holy haters Batman, chill. Awesome and informative product video! It’s so cool you guys do this stuff together, keep it up!
-Neighbor from up the road (11).
Hey fellah thanks! If you see us out and about pop in
That was a legit video Professional. Cool setup Good job
Thanks!
"Or just buy a long box if quadding is your thing!"
Don’t like the design but for everyone asking . Payload capacity is around 1500lbs Atv weighs 759-800lbs So it’s more about securing the load. No different than have a load of lumber in the bed.
That is a Can Am XMR 1000R which is on the Max 2up frame. From the factory it's a 1014lb machine. I have the same machine it sits in the back of my 5 1/2 truck bed basically from window to the end of my tailgate. You definitely know that machine is in the back. I've added DG tailgate supports because I don't trust the cables to hold that beast. Been on the fence about going the Mad Ramps route to get it off the gate or just buying a trailer. Only bonus about the mad ramps is storing them. I don't really want a trailer sitting in my driveway all year long but the trailer is definitely the safer way to go.
Just buy a truck with a 8 foot box like the lord intended!
So many problems with this...by law your license plate cannot be obstructed and has to be visible. It’s solving a problem by making life more complicated.
I really enjoyed the video!
the design is crap i dont trust that an atv is hanging off my tailgate.
Nice looking product but too over priced! You can go to your local utility trailer dealer and save 25 to 50 percent
OffroadDan uses these and they seem to work great. I'm lucky that my box length is big enough to just drive the Grizzly in and close the tail gate.
My old 1st gen was the same way I miss it, but theres always a solution!
@@MainvilleATV Thats why there's companies like Mad Ramps!
I'm confused, if you didn't have the truck cover would you still need that ramp? looks like it'll fit if the quad was pulled all the way into the bed or buy a truck with a long bed.
THAT IS SLICK, I JUST GOT REGULAR RAMPS . I HAVE TO TAKE MY COVER OFF EVERY TIME. WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN THIS VIDEO FIRST.
I ordered an extended cab with an eight foot box for this reason, and a trailer. Quad stored inside trailer for the winter frees up garage space
I don't like the quad sitting on the tailgate, loading is one thing - driving for miles with a load on the cables is another.
With the load that far back [1000lb ATV] how much weight is taken off the steer tires?
How far do the ramps stick out from the rear of the truck? I believe anything over three feet needs a red flag.
They look well built, just not for this guy. Keep tryin'...
Well that just proves she's better then you to do these videos 👍(but we also love you Kyle)😂😂 you guys are awesome, ou du Québec vous êtes incroyable!!!
Haha shes certainly a natural! Merci beaucoup!
oh my lol she talked about overkill at the beg of the video but those ramps are truly overkill, cant the tonneau cover just fold up and the back tires sit on tailgate like on my dodge dakota 5.5ft bed ?? ive got a grizzly 700 tailgate down back tires are right on gate tonneau cover folded against my back window
To each their own. I have NEVER seen this contraption used anywhere. Did not know it existed. And I can see why. So many cons to it. Others no doubt will cover it all. But wow, not impressed. I was wrong. Nobody mentioned the fact that driving a quad into the back of the truck with the cover not completely out of the way was an accident waiting to happen. lol. It only takes a few well thought out moments to do something correctly. Impatience/laziness invites disaster. ;).
hey great vid..
hahahaha...husband jokes....lol
lots of fun you two have...great to see
drive safe
Glenn.
This is our real life lol we cant make this up
DiamondBack cover, take both quads with you and storage in the bed of your truck. 🚚
Price ?
Need a 8 foot bed. Can’t pull another trailer. It’s kinda nice.
Super bien fait Cass!! Bravo! 😊
Aw, Merci Jay!!
Awesome job Cass!
Thanks!
Would be interesting to see that setup scaled before and after to see how much weight gets transferred off the front axle... Air bags improve sag but don't do anything to limit weight transfer and that's a lot of weight leveraged behind the rear axle. Lawyers would have a heyday in the case of a rear ender collision.
Good job Cass!
Do you guys have bags on the suspension?
Yes, the rebels have bags from factory
What is your hitch tongue weight capacity?
Wow 🤪 ok I don't except u to believe this but... as I started watching this video I thought "they should do a bloopers video " and I don't know if you have ever done this in another video like u did at the end but..... when I saw the outtakes at the end I was like 😲 no way ! How crazy is that? 🤪
Haha we have done it several times before. We leave it for the people who watch the whole video ;)
@@MainvilleATV lol ok well maybe I saw it once before and have forgotten about it subconsciously and that may have been why I suddenly thought that. 😅 maybe I'm just getting forgetful in my old age lol
Our Dusty Dawgs box video has one for sure, it's usually the shop videos that have them lol, especially the ones that have me in it cause life's hard hahaha. - Cass
@@MainvilleATV yeah lol life is definitely hard. An we r only human so it's great when we can share our goof ups an get a good laugh 😆
If those ramps get bent theres no way they are going to slide back in the black things
They won't get bent if you don't overload them?
did you tie down the atv, also in the truck bed?
how do you take it back off when you aren't using it?
Simply pull pin and lift it off. Not very heavy.
That’s a really cool system
Those are sweet, if only I had a truck😂😂
Guess I missed that step in the video lol. Edit: Step 1: have a truck. Hahaha thanks for watching! - Cass
ya I should've jumped on buying one of these from a atv buddy of mine.
How did you get you Tiger tail installed that way in your quad? I have an ‘19 XMR 850 and would like to do the same! Do you have a video or link on that?
I tuned in for the purple yoga pants
That's the scariest solution to a non-truck hauling an oversized load. Anyone who buys the useless 5.7 bed is just tossing their money away and has NEVER owned a truck before. They dont know how useful it becomes and how many friends want you to help them when you own one lol.
You never showed strapping down ATV to secure it; do you have to?
Yes you do. I did 4 box straps and 1 strap to the ramp bar.
Dandy setup for shur, and great install instructions.
Thanks fellah!
Great video! I have a Tacoma, would you consider this set up on your Tacoma?
Depends on the atv weight, personally. I didn't mind in my ram cause it had air bags
These are truly nice, but $1,000!!! 😳 I don’t think it’s worth it🤨. I was honestly expecting $500. Even then wondering if I wanted to spend that much on a ramp system. But $1,000, wowzers!!! Will not be getting them😕.
Holy crap. Way to destroy the talk gate ! This has to be the worst I’ve ever seen.
Yea I don’t think so.
Just buy a trailer, it will be so much more useful.
For my situation these ramps are the perfect solution. I camp down a fire service road and towing a trailer 40+ kilometres down a pot hole and washboard road is miserable. I’ve also gone the sled deck route but it’s a pain to remove and store while I’m not using it. Also my truck is a 3500 mega cab so I don’t have an 8’ bed option to begin with.
I dont know if this was mentioned here yet i did notice though when you have the quad in the back and the ramps retracted to driving position thay they are really close to ur exhaust tips wonder if the heat would cause some melting or discoloration of the product ?
Sorry, but I’ll stick to using my trailer to haul my four wheeler around.
You could put those ramps on the atv and take the truck. Ps me likey yoga
Has anyone heard of Latch n Load? Much cheaper and works great.. $199 US and very easy to use. I looked at the Mad ramps love to concept but to much for me ..
Very interesting.
Does this product even works for a lifted truck?
Great video, is this ramp legal to use in Ontario? Noticed you had Ontario plates. Thanks!
As long as you follow lighting regulations and maximum weight capacities yes. Depending on your truck and atv ie utv weight I'd suggest air bags or a 3/4 ton truck. That being said if it's a grizzly or something of that nature I wouldn't worry at all.
Can load the ATV with plow on mad ramp?
Definitely could.
Great
Thank you
How to order ?
Great theory most likely after a day of riding you return to find the ramps missing in action... Good luck
Nobody would waste their time and energy stealing it.
NEVER wear flip-flops when you are talking safety issues, really?
As much as these cost I'd just buy a trailer 😂
