I had a TKR when i was 26 yrs old. I'm 39 now and it is still holding up well. For the last few years my knee swells and causes some pain, but it is functional and the parts are still good so that's what matters. To those looking for a doctor to do your surgery, keep looking!! It took me 2 years to find my dr. By the time i found him all cartilage in my knee had died, it was locked in a 45° angle and i was on a walker. Then i found the doctor. So it will happen. Good luck!!🙌🙏
I am 25 and had a TKR this year on 30th jan..i am doing totally fine except its range is not completely came back as i need to take this step because i have rheumatoid arthritis which already affected my other joints. But my right knee got so much worse that it got totally stiff there was no movement in right knee this is why i need to took this surgery.

I'm going to see my orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. I have osteoarthritis in my right knee that's beginning to be rather bothersome. Even driving is getting a little difficult because when I use the brakes even the slightest pressure causes pain. I'm only 46 and seeing this video is definitely inspiring me to ask questions abut this knee replacement that's designed to last thirty years. I'm rather active and this condition slows me down. Thanks for the informative video. I can now feel at ease if I too , would have to undergo this surgery.

For all the people in this comment section that are extremely young and are looking at total knee replacement, there is another natural better option worth trying first. It is called knee joint distraction. If you are below 65 years of age and are looking for a total knee replacement, than chances are you will need revision surgery from which the results are way way worse end the life span is way shorter. After that you have amputation or fusion of the knee joint, which is ofcourse not a great option. Knee joint distraction will regrow the cartilage in your knee and you will be able to use it again for anywhere between 5 and 15 years if the surgery is succesful. There are patient stories with patient being able to walk 10km again after knee joint distraction. If it doesn't work you can still try total knee replacement. I would combine it with APS injection and SVF injection for better results, but be warned there is no research on this, except for an animal study on rabbits. Good luck!
