I'm now elderly but grew up into a long line of Roman Catholic friends and family most are deceased now (my cousins still are Roman Catholics) this was way back when the Mass ( Service) was in Latin before Vatican 2. Since I'm no longer in the Roman Catholic Church I can't speak for today but back then there was more emphasis on Church traditions, rules and regulations and Catholic Catechism than it was Jesus the Gospel and the actual Christian Bible. The people in that Church, my Great grandmother and her daughter my grandmother thought the Pope was next to God. But even at the age of 12 I was hungry for God and wanted more than my Parish ( Church) was giving me. I annoyed the Nuns at Catholic School with too many questions about Jesus like why did he say those things on the Cross but they didn't seem to know because they never gave me the answers and had the attitude of its disrespectful to question them. Fast forward it wasn't until my early thirties that a few of us at another Catholic Church decided to start our own Bible study and God really moved even though the Priest didn't come even though we asked him to come teach us. God really moved and opened up our understanding by His Holy Spirit. The irony is everyone of us in that small Bible study ended up leaving the Catholic Church because we love Jesus, read the Bible and understood the Plan of Salvation, trusted Jesus as our Lord and SAVIOR and wanted more of Him.
@@josephbachota the rest of my life story was that I later joined an Assembly of God Pentecostal Church. They taught me the Bible = Word of God & I'm very grateful for that. The sad thing is they were way too centered on the prosperity gospel, politics and taught if you had wealth and material things you had the favor of God, like Abraham. The biggest irony is they worshiped the Pastor just like my old Catholic Church. worshiped the Pope. I was a member in good standing until the Pastor committed Adultery and was fired from the Church then the Church Split up. It was so very sad. (Sorry I had to edit cause my old fingers are shaky and I have to go back and make corrections in my typing. You are probably the same age as my son but I love how our Lord and SAVIOR Jesus uses your ministry to bless us with the wisdom of God. ) Many Blessings to you and yours. Whoever reads this, always Be Thankful For Jesus! He is the only Savior there is.
@ well thanks for watching 😃 I’m glad I’m blessing you in my young age 😂 seriously, your story is all too common in a lot of Pentecostal churches as well, I’ve seen it many times, sadly 😢
Thanks for the review. As a former RC now Protestant, I'll be checking out the movie. I'm sure it'll give me flashbacks and a small panic attack as I was groomed to be a priest growing up in the RC system. Ummm, yeah. No thank you.
