This Island in Japan has not even been named to my knowledge. It replaces the Icelandic volcanic Island of Surtsey as the youngest island in existence on earth. How historic geographically. Surtsey was formed off of the mid Atlantic ridge plate and the Reykjanes peninsula in the 1970's, Japans island formed is a part of the Mariana techtonic plate which is a different type. A parallel fault line is less seseptable to form islands than a ridge plate.
claim nga ng US ang San Diego island na almost 20,000 kilometers from their border, claim nga ng US ang Guam island na almost 10,000 kilometers from their border that is supposed to be part of Philippine territory
Check out Surtsey, an Icelandic island which turns 53 in two weeks time, if you haven't heard about it already (sorry if you have, worst case someone else reading this gets some information on the island). They did essentially what you suggested. They outside forbid travel to the island but every year a select group of scientists go there to monitor it. Before stepping foot on the island they go through a thorough procedure to stop human introduction of plants and animals (don't know if they try to stop fungi and such). For the most part they have been quite successful in that regard, but they accidentally introduced the tomato plant (or was it the apple tree) by eating a tomato (apple?) and irresponsibly leaving not taking their droppings back. When they discovered the plant and how it got there they shamefully ripped it up and didn't tell the outside world for decades :D. The study of the island has given us great information about primary succession, and the study is still ongoing and will probably go on until Surtsey turnes into a small rock containing little more than a bird colony in a few hundred years.

I saw a photo of vacationing people going on a cruise in the pacific when suddenly, they met a sea of sand. It looked like a sand bar in the middle of the vast ocean. When they have gone past it although not very far from it, they heard a huge roaring sound, it was a volcano that erupted under the pacific ocean. They were so terrified and lucky that it didnt erupt at the time they were there. To their surprise, they saw this newly-formed island, it was still spewing some smoke due to the volcanic eruption.
