But you do are popular on YT - definitely among those who understand the idea of comprenensible input. The question is that many people still prefer traditional methods, but among those who fully understand the idea - you are the best.

I genuinely think you are one of the best Chinese learning channels out there, if not the best. I am surprised at times that channels like yours do not have more followers, given how good the videos are. I think the main reason is simply the lack of awareness that channels like yours exist. It's also that 'comprehensible input' is still a relatively 'novel' idea - and that I think most 'serious' learners are sticking to a cirricumlum or course given by an educational instituion. It also seems like the kind of videos that are most popular are those 'quick wins' videos - that give you 100 sentences in a row, or simply run through HSK vocab etc. There may be MANY chinese language learners, but I expect very few stick with it to reach to an intermediate stage where videos like yours really come into play. All this said, I really love what you do on this channel, it's appreciated!

After learning enough vocabulary, I can finally understand 90% of the words in your intermediate videos. This method is unmatched for listening content. 別擔心, 你的方法真的最棒啦!

You are one of my favorite mandarin teachers on RUclips because you are so genuine and have so much of your own personality. So many Chinese teachers on RUclips come off as robotic and overly formal and never talk about genuine things. You use humor which is very rare. I’ve had some experience as a RUclipsr from forming a podcast led to interviewing Elon Musk to having a show that can’t seem to break a consistent few hundred viewers. It’s very hard to crack the algorithm if you aren’t chasing trending topics or using clickbait titles. RUclips does not often reward people who are trying to be genuine. I have so much sympathy for you in this. It’s so hard, and so tempting to feel bad about yourself. Like you’ve presented yourself to the whole world and they’re all just ignoring you. It’s easy to feel like giving up. However I do think that there really are two main paths to take on RUclips. One is to chase the algorithm by trying to make clickbait titles and thumbnails and chase trending topics. The other is just to keep making stuff, betting on the chance that one of your videos will hit and will grow your audience and through those wins you find your voice and your audience and grow into something really unique. This second path takes a long time and there is in no guarantee of success, but when channels like that succeed it can be really special. I’ve learned to try to set a date for when I will assess my success, then do my best not to think about it at all in the interim. Just focus on making content then when the time comes, stop and look at what is working and what isn’t. Too much time thinking about the algorithm keeps me awake at night. Anyway, I really enjoy your content and your heart in all of it. I’m rooting for you to succeed. Thank you for all your effort and for being so genuine and personal in your approach. Those of us who have found you are blessed to have such an amazing resource.

I love your videos! Please keep them coming ❤ I think your videos are unique and I understand them better than other channel I've seen. I think your channel is the one that's helping me the most, I've learnt so much and in such a relaxing way. I like other channels too and they are helpful too, but I think every channel has its own personality and traits and yours are awesome. It's like each person is a part of an enviroment, we are like a plant, every plant has its characteristic and its benefit adds something to the other. ❤ Thanks for your work

You are one of the top on RUclips :) having your own stories helps a lot, because hearing the same old overused hsk-vocab over and over can be annoying :D A lot of teachers stick to textbook and language exam. Its nice to see soneone who has her own content. Also the fact you dont use english HELPS a lot, because I have to think more and a lot sticks naturally. Kepp up the good work.

Comparto la opinión de muchos. Eres excelente.

I love your channel! Your content and the way you talk is awsome. You are the only teacher I can follow without subtitles. The way you repeat words and structures while talking is unique. Your website is great too, I learn so much from you. And since I found you some weeks ago you have grown by around 2000 subscribers. Please just carry on and be yourself. Your fan base will grow for sure! ❤

I've been learning mandarin for a little over 2 months now and I appreciate you not having English subtitles as it forces me to improve my listening. I find it hard to do that when other teachers put the English subtitles on screen, as I tend to focus on it instead of what they are saying. I think its fine to have subtitles on beginner videos but I like the intermediate ones without it.

First of all, I'd like to say that I really like your videos ! I find them very interesting to watch and I never get bored, which can be a problem with comprehensible input. Personally, I think the reason why you don't make that many views is because your videos are for very specific kind of viewers. Not only do you have to learn chinese, but also you have to be at least upper-beginner/intermediate AND on top of that know about/being interested in the comprehensible input (immersion) method. When you compare with the same kind of youtuber, I think you're quite popular in that very specific domain.

  • @sebastiangoud

You are the best! Your content is very clear and always fun to watch. I started looking for beginner videos when I had zero knowledge of Chinese to see if CI would work for absolute beginners. I tried many channels until I found yours. I started by watching all the videos in order less than a year ago. I'm not really at intermediate level yet, but I understand quite a bit of what you are saying here. Keep up the great work!

  • @sharefail

I love your content and basically it's the best Chinese instruction I can find on RUclips. If you changed anything too drastically it might not suit my needs! For me the absence of any English is a definite plus. That said, I am a particular kind of learner. I lived in China for a bit, picked up a bit of everyday Chinese and am progressing from that jumping off point. I didn't understand most of what you said in your video but I was still able to get the jist of it, somehow. My goal is not really to speak Chinese well, as I have no real opportunity to speak it now. I mostly want to increase my level of comprehension and I'm sure speaking ability will rise in tandem anyway. An interesting topic of conversation does help but you are also a magnetic personality and I think you should keep doing you because I greater success will come through the sheer force of your personality and the way you do everything so professionally.

Hello Suqing :) I love your videos! You are the best of the best!!!!! It has nothing to do with your videos. In fact, the RUclips algorithm punishes creators who do not upload at least 2x weekly. That’s all. You have to decide if being famous is worth the extra workload ;)

  • @aquadraht4469
    @aquadraht4469 4 часа назад +1

For me you are by far the best source for learning Mandarin for several months already.
There is just no other content that is so easy to follow, but still very natural spoken and also interesting to listen to.
But I have to say that there is one key tool I use that makes your channel so valuable for me, which is a browser extension that lets me watch your videos with Hanzi, Pinyin and a translation to english at the same time. Being able to switch this on and off I get so much from your videos. Without this, many videos would be too hard to watch and I would have to stick with your beginner videos which are, however, not as interesting to listen to, compared to the intermediate videos.
I think if all people would know how to use these multiple subtitles, many many more people would use your channel. Not sure, however, what would be a good solution for you to help people here.
One other idea is to make more youtube shorts. I know you don't really like them. But I think they are also extremely helpful and it might bring more people to your channel.
Otherwise keep up your great work and I think it is not wrong to mostly do content that you yourself like most, because this is what you do best and seeing a person enjoying what they are doing is most times also the most enjoyable to watch.

  • @vaclavfiala8187
    @vaclavfiala8187 18 минут назад

It's not true that you're not popular. If someone searches for comprehensible input on RUclips, your videos are consistently among the top picks. You strike the perfect balance between beginner-friendly material and more intermediate content. For me and many others, you are the essential bridge that helps beginners transition to the intermediate level.
The fact that your channel doesn’t yet have hundreds of thousands of subscribers is simply due to its relatively small production scale-but that’s actually a great thing! It allows you to focus on creating high-quality, personalized content that reflects your unique teaching style.
When you inevitably reach a much larger audience (and you absolutely deserve to), I hope you’ll be able to maintain the personal touch that makes your videos so special. My advice would be to continue doing what you do best: short, engaging videos (around 10 minutes) about interesting everyday topics, and collaborating with other teachers as you’ve already been doing.
Wishing you all the best and continued success

wow this took a while to write even with the help of Google Translate 🤣 guess I still have a long way to go about output.
As for why there are not many more subscribers, I agree with the others that talk about lack of awareness and unfair algorithms, your content is amazing, it's just really hard to go viral for anyone on the internet, I guess.
Anyways, I love this channel and really look forward to every new video, you have been helping a lot in improving my Chinese comprehension 🚀

I think your videos do about as well as any other CI-focused channel and the main problem is that people aren't familiar with the idea. Among people who go looking for this kind of content they will find your channel very quickly and most people quote your channel as their favourite at this level. Maybe when Pablo opens Dreaming Mandarin the advertising will pull in a bigger community.
