Makes me very happy! I'm actually planning on making videos where I talk about keyboards in general (components, "buzz words", layouts, keycaps and such). Hopefully I am able to make it interesting, understandable and informative ;-;
@@ricecloud i like that sound and the soft 'thock' ones ;D im keeping ur videos in my fav because one day i wanna build one hopefully in azerty if it is possible xd happy modding and thankyu for your cozy and well made videos !
i absolutely love your channel! i’ve been watching keyboard videos for maybe a year and never got the chance to get into the hobby until a couple months ago. your videos helped me get some inspiration! matter of fact i just finished my first custom keyboard build. thank you!! it’s also so cool seeing the progression of your setup! it looks so clean ^.^
AAAAAAAAA its been so long since I've commented in ur videos, its still so satisfyinggggg, I just finished my exams so I'm gladd that I got to listennnnnn. You're so cool :DD
yess! I have been waiting for this modding video for a while, amazing like always! ( i literally have no idea how you make every single keeb sound so good!) Also, I really like the camera angle (ik this sounds kinda random) but it really makes your video look cozier :D. i recently received my tm680, and I followed ur modding video, and the end result turned out so good :D thank you for ur amazing content and keep up the amazing work!
I was so scared of modding my keyboard bc I thought I might screw things up, but watching ur vids make it looks so easy!!! I'll be trying to mod my keeb when i have less school works to do and hope that it would be close to what u can do 😭
Great video! I just wanted to ask did you not have to cut the PE foam around the IR sensors on the PCB board? I thought the foam would block it. I'm really keen to give your mods a try.
i did the mod on both boards and idk on which one but the pe foam did interfere. you could just try it out without making cutout first, and if neccessary make them if needed.
Good afternoon! I bought an epomaker sk64s keyboard. Help me find a good manual for this device! Any questions about the operation: - how to view the remaining battery charge? - how to determine that the keyboard is fully charged? I am very much waiting for your answer. Thanks
This is probably a really unpopular opinion, but I sorta like the way it sounds before modding too xD I mean the mod sounds WAYY nicer but I don't mind the before either.
Lubing helped this thing a ton. I will say though, you can really hear the mushiness from the tape. Just ditch tape altogether; tape mods are shit worthless. Overall though this turned out pretty damn good.
To me they are not mushy at all. At least they don't feel mushy. They do sound a little bit mushy, however mushy sounding stabs are not only caused by holee mod or tape mod, but also by wrapped keycaps (or a off center legs) and how accurate the plate is cut, determine how good the stabs will sit on it and how much distance they have to each other.
@@ricecloud Yeah holee mod can sometimes cause a bit of mushiness depending on the stabilizer and what's used. I've seen people use everything from bandages to electrical tape to bible paper.
as far as I know the pcb uses infrared for registering the keypress, when the key is pressed down, the stem pole will block the connection. The pe foam I used is really thin and airy so I guess it does not block the connection, however I did face some issues this time, so maybe using switch pads would be better, or just make a bigger cut out in the area, but this is a little bit time consuming.
i own two of optical boards and did the mod on both, on one there was no problem at all and on the other, there were interferences. so if you want to use this mod, you might need to make cutouts
Does it matter what kinda tape you use for the tape mod!! I noticed you use masking tape while some of the others tend to use painter's tape! what's the difference??
a quick 1 minute google search says that they are pretty similar, they differ in adhesive. masking is a little bit more sticky, but i can get it easily off. so I think you can use both for tape mod
Glad you enjoy the content :D you are not the first one asking this question. To be honest I barely use discord, nor do I know people who could help me out, so it would be pretty much a single person job to manage the server. I don't know if I can manage YT, work, private life and discord at once. I would love to have a server, where you all can hang out and chit chat, believe me ;-; I will do some research and consider publishing one, if it goes out of hand, I still can close it. But as for now I will wait until I feel more comfortable with this idea. I hope you understand
@@ricecloud yeah of course! there's no pressure at all it's completely up to you, I get if it's too much and that, and it's rlly okay! But I'm sure there's plenty of people in the community, including myself, who'd be willing to help out if you ever decide to do so, no worries at all :)
I have the same keyboard and I didn’t do any mods to it cause I’m scared to break it but it has gateron yellow switches I’m getting a lube kit for them cause u will lube it and ya and the keycaps I think are abs or pbt I’m not sure but ya no mods but gateron yellows well I don’t have the same keyboard it’s a sk64 but it’s basically the Chinese version of it cause the manual it came with was Chinese and the app was Chinese also but overall it’s a good keyboard
hey, i got the sk64 just yesterday. could u mod it for me as im not good at it. i really like the sound of it and always wanted a custom keyboard sounding like this. maybe you could respond to this. great video btw
Lubed my first stabs last week, and it worked out well! These videos really inspire a lot of us who are new to mech keyboards you have no idea

I'm impressed at how you manage to pull all the keycaps without pulling any switches! For some reason I can never do it...
yes this video was posted 1 min ago and i already love this btw
this is the best budget mod of this model on youtube by far
The after sound was SO satisfying, no pings, what an amazing job!

The sound definitely improved but there's still a little hollow. Great job!
Waiting for you to custom a $500 keyboard someday💚

Nailed the holee mod here
Wonderful, nice job. I'm thinking about buying the Skyloong SK64 and doing this. Thank's for the idea !.
The look of defeat was palpable on your hands when that first screw dropped!

I love modding keyboards but my poor joints hurt from lubing and pulling key caps and holee modding. I'm jealous that you haven't burnt out yet.
An hour long of this one plz
bnager video as always
when I have my own mecanical keyboard, I'm going to modded as you do
Good afternoon!

Help me find a good manual for this device!
Any questions about the operation:
- how to view the remaining battery charge?

You should try out the THIC THOCK marshmallow switches they look really cool and match your keyboards
Wath are the lubed?
interresting to try
This is probably a really unpopular opinion, but I sorta like the way it sounds before modding too xD I mean the mod sounds WAYY nicer but I don't mind the before either.
What deskmat is that? I love the asthetic of it!
So cool!
hiii, love your videos
will you ever do a mech keyboard buying guide? i love your taste
I can for sure do that! not sure when tho
How were you able to do the pe foam mod on an optical switch board. When I did it, none of my switches worked
Lubing helped this thing a ton. I will say though, you can really hear the mushiness from the tape. Just ditch tape altogether; tape mods are shit worthless. Overall though this turned out pretty damn good.

Hello!! May I ask where you got the deskmat?💓💓😮
Honestly I think that those type of switch pullers are awful. Idk where to find it but the switch puller that comes with the tm680 is amazing to me.
mikeneko cat stuffed toy is cute😊
sound is good
I love your videos your keyboards are so nice I wish I had one but I'm too poor 🤣🤣
Me too, Spaceninja, me too.
Nicee
Hi what kind of tape did you use for putting tape on the plate for stabs?
Hey, out of curiosity how do the switches connect to the pcb with the foam in the way?
as far as I know the pcb uses infrared for registering the keypress, when the key is pressed down, the stem pole will block the connection. The pe foam I used is really thin and airy so I guess it does not block the connection, however I did face some issues this time, so maybe using switch pads would be better, or just make a bigger cut out in the area, but this is a little bit time consuming.
I’m moding my first keyboard in a month or so :)
you must be exited, which board did you end up with?
valo immortal hands :3 !
Damn, you turned a board that hurt my ears to something I wanna copy so I can have one for myself.
You should do a green themed keyboard in the future 👀definitely isn't my favorite color or anything
wish me luck on the qk65 r2 in light green
cute vid ^^ can i ask where that small plush cat is from? =}
that white film you have placed over the board, how are they switches functioning with that film inbetween them and the board?
i own two of optical boards and did the mod on both, on one there was no problem at all and on the other, there were interferences. so if you want to use this mod, you might need to make cutouts

Hi! Where do you buy your O rings?
love thisu should do a giveaway ( for those who dont have a keyboard)
I have the same keyboard and I didn’t do any mods to it cause I’m scared to break it but it has gateron yellow switches I’m getting a lube kit for them cause u will lube it and ya and the keycaps I think are abs or pbt I’m not sure but ya no mods but gateron yellows well I don’t have the same keyboard it’s a sk64 but it’s basically the Chinese version of it cause the manual it came with was Chinese and the app was Chinese also but overall it’s a good keyboard
Kinda shocked how your spacebar still thocced hard even though you didn't cut out holes for the stabs on the plate foam.
what tape are you using for the holee mod ?
I added a link to a picture as reference, it is band aid tape
what's the song at 6:00 ?
Is this keyboard silent enough in person to be used in office environment?
it is pretty loud i would say, so not very office-friendly
i subbed 2 u when u had 700subs
does anyone know the polling rate of this keyboard?
Good job
hey, i got the sk64 just yesterday. could u mod it for me as im not good at it. i really like the sound of it and always wanted a custom keyboard sounding like this. maybe you could respond to this. great video btw

I linked it in the description :)

You can tell how long ago the keyboard modder started modding by how old the model of the iphone they use for wire balancing is!
