It's crazy how chaotic his games are at this rank.
He has top 500 aim but is being team diffed consistently. Mostly due to team composition, target selection or poor positioning.
If shroud played with some of the higher ranked streamers he'd improve rapidly.
Not in his aim, he already has pro aim, but his overwatch game sense.

9:00 been playing since OW 1, and and my friends and I share the same sentiment. The GAME IS SENTIENT. When we go for a "last win", we usually go on a 8-10 game losing streak and/or 1-2 hours until we do win. Sometimes, that "final win" is actually a steamroll on our advantage because the enemy players are below our skill level. It's very rare that you will be able to find similarly skilled ones and a balanced game that can be really enjoyable even when you lose

Everyone in casual play just refuses to go through any other choke point but that one in the middle in Blizzard World. Doesn't matter what you say to people. Just gotta flank everyone on your own 90% of the time and get the opponents' attention before bailing back to your team IF THEY'RE STILL ALIVE

torb soldier and orisa can hold that choke if implemented correctly..Ana hiding in the back darting...its a weird choke to deal with but it's narrow and with one exit on the right as you look towards spawn you can hold ppl off...I never get problems on blizzard..widowmaker in that choke can get messy..lol

It's actually unreal that Shroud loses that first game despite playing at a level at least 2x higher than the lobby he was in. Team games man.
It really isn't. He might be an aim god, but he doesn't really understand OW strategy and win conditions that well especially as it pertains to shift in priority at different phases in the map and/or which team is in control of the objective.

@@arcc4 OW isn't all about kills, but killing people back to back like that should increase your chances of winning by at least 80%; if the enemies are dead, they can't push or contest objectives. To lose a game like that, your team has to be literally braindead.
I win 60% of my games as moira but was stuck in gold. All it took was finding a plat team to play with to hit plat myself then it was almost too easy to solo que to plat 2 💀

A video like this demonstrates to me the difference between Overwatch 2 and most other competitive shooters. In other games like Valorant or CS:GO, you sort of propel through the ranks and slowly start to "get it" over time. I believe this is due to the fact that the games have a much larger focus on consequence, and obviously the "round based" system up until the winning match point. Overwatch is an entirely different animal because it doesn't matter how good your aim is or how well you understand the maps to a certain extent. The game is about drafting, first and foremost. You draft to counter and you draft to counter the counters.
Shroud is a God of FPS games, there is no denying that, but even he lacks the ability to 1v5 every single game because of how forgiving Overwatch 2 (and to an extent the first game) is to it's playerbase. When you get a pick, there is so much in the game that can re-swing momentum and buy time, even if the games feel extremely snowbally with the advent of modes like Push (a mode that shouldn't even exist inside of comp imo). You can kill the backline all day on Widowmaker, but you can't stop doomfist from dumping his 3 second long cooldown abilities on you that basically take skill out of the equation once you reach a certain level of skill (i.e, a gold player and a top 500 player will probably hit the right click on the widowmaker, ashe, anna, etc, etc).
Similarly to League of Legends, Overwatch 2 is not a game about how well you improve, it is a mental game about how much punishment you can take before you eventually roll good teams who have strong mental and coordinate with one another. I've been playing competitive since the end of season 0 (with literally no experience with OW1), and practically since the start of the new season, and after reaching Diamond 3 in rank, it has come to my attention that the only players existing inside of the highest ranks (master, grandmaster, top 500) are players who's MMR has been previously aggregated by the system to be very high. Yes, it's obvious that pro players are going to remain in pro player spots, but I've found that most of the people that I'm playing with have been Diamond/Master long before OW2, with the very rare outlier of a skilled new player being able to climb, mostly due to the insane variance in "skill" matchmaking.
The amount of players I have already run into with over 10, and sometimes 20x my hours with the defeated, stuck mindset harkens back to my days as a high elo league of legends player, and its heartbreaking. Shroud, in his suffering, has experienced why the formula of an "ability based" shooter simply does not work unless you have an actual 5-stack of similarly skilled, coordinated players who understand the game (cooldowns, ult interactions, etc) at a high level. I've lost a handful of games this season where my team has successfully held the enemy team at the first point on payload, and then never successfully even pushed past /that/ point. I don't think I've ever felt such a soulcrushing sensation since losing my first Master promos 3 times in a row than losing 8 games in OW2 in a row that were completely winnable, but lost due to a single player refusing to properly work with the team.
OW2 is meant to break your will. There's not a doubt in my mind Shroud will climb if he continues, it's just overcoming the truth that the game is toxic by design. You will eventually lose 15 games in a row, and it's going to be at the fault of "some toxic asshole". OW2 is more of a mental game than it is a skill based one. The highest level of ability execution in the game can be performed easily at a plat/diamond level, (with obvious insane outliers like Zbra's doomfist or Kraggie's tracking) and from there, it just turns into how much you can stomach playing meta picks until you eventually winstreak. (I admittedly found a decent mercy in soloq and then eventually went on to just duo-pocket with them until we both hit diamond)
SORRY FOR THE WHOLE ESSAY, I just felt like explaining my experience, and Shroud's own experience here would better help some of those gamers also watching the video climb. Good luck to you guys, keep the mental strong!

Don't think you need to meta pick, but insted always be aware of what counters your character at any givin moment. You need to be able to make the call that a certain character that you want to play isn't going to work this game.
I think shoud's problem is that he is 100% trying to outskill his opponents, insted of playing with a purpose in mind. For example, insted of fighting a sigma running inbetween their shield, he could just run past the sigma and then push him into his team with javlin spin. Making statigic plays will win you game more than "popping off". He is still nasty at the game.😁
@@D4rlex Not entirely! You'll always lose at some point, not every game is winnable. It's about keeping the mindset to keep you going even after the worst the game has to offer.
Well just like in LoL you win and you lose as a team, individual performance only gets you so far. The hardest skill that most people need to learn to achieve high ranks in Overwatch is communication, and most people suck at it, like real bad. If you can manage to stay positive, give good call outs, coordinate your team and at the same time play your role/hero correctly you can achieve wonders in OW. But yeah OW aint Valorant, its much harder.

Last night had two games in a row where I have 49 kills on dps (second dps had 25, and tank had like 23) and the next game I had like 54 and my dps and tank had both under 30. Lost both games :/

shroud needs to either make/buy another account to play solo/other competitive players. he’s stuck in low elo hell where your teammates are actually the issue 80% of the time. Shroud definitely seems like a low diamond player. He would enjoy the game a lot more if he was playing in a suitable rank group
Shroud plays widow, hits 96 headshots and still can't win. Maybe there's something wrong with the matchmaking? If teams were evenly made, in theory you should win half the games on average.🤔🤔🤔

Ive been in silver for a bit now trying to get my rank up to play with friends. We literally played the exact same games and had same winloss ratio yet I got silver and they got gold and higher somehow......Playing solo dps I just keep getting second dps that literally feed the enemy and cant shoot targets that stand still. Tanks who watch too much tiktok and just let the team fend for themselves. And healers that I literally have to stand still in front of to get healed.... Meanwhile the enemy team has fkn top 500 players.....

The matchmaking in this game is completely screwed this season. I'll go on like 17 game win streak and then next thing I know I'm on like a 2 day losing streak. Seems like all of a sudden I'm catching newb bronzes on my team while the other team has plats and GMs. I'm like WTF is happening here?! It doesn't matter how well I play as a support I can't carry a whole team that doesn't know the basics like playing corners, keeping the high ground, finding good lines of sight, etc...

Its because of the shitty matchmaking system. It will always try to keep you at 50% win/lose rate, so if you get a nice winning streak, blizz will start teaming you up with people that are pretty bad against people that are good so you're back to 50/50 win/lose rate. The ranks doesn't matter at all.. this is how i understood it

His aim is always good, the game sense and team play seems pretty gold or plat to me
