His reaction says it perfectly.. /..like why would I have a problem with it? He clearly loved his wife too... love and sexual attraction don't always go hand in hand. It's a complicated thing. This is being posted 9/11/15. Darren I miss hearing your beautiful voice. I see you now have a talk show/pod-cast? Why? Are you not being visited with the artistic inspiration that used to frequent you so often,(which in the last ten yr.s has been getting more quiet); or is it something more sinister, say an unwelcoming and uninviting music industry? To all those out there reading this; this man was, is, and will (always) TRUELY, MADLY, DEEPLY be an inspiring talent and hero. I remember being a young girl in junior high in Ankeny, Iowa (United States) in a conservative religious school, hearing this other-worldly voice on secular radio stations - not yet turned on to Savage Garden. I remember being in high school in Des Moines at another ultra conservative religious school and starting to fall in love with this beautiful talent as my mother finally allowed me to listen to a secular radio station. I remember being in religious school (for nine month program) and college afterward for one yr. before my parents decided to yank me out. Instead of studying or partying, I would be on the RUclips and such watching music vids as this was my first time having my own computer. There would be 1 artist that I would always go back and watch again and again, then follow his solo career. It would be this man. He not only has a voice that rivals the greats, his songwriting touched us all that would call themselves true fans. Darren Hayes we miss you truly, madly, deeply. Would you please consider putting out another album again.
Leah Westrum I feel the same as you towards dear Darren. He said that he wanted a break from music to explore other creative outlets, as he was in the music industry at such a young age. He is just exploring right now (comedy improv, podcast, writing articles), but he is working on a musical, as he adores musical theater, so at least we can look forward to that 😁
Never thought this would illicit - is that the word - such a response! I have admired and loved this man for a hot minute. I remember getting his first solo album back in high school, and when my ultra-conservative mother heard some of the songs she vehemently disproved; going so far as to take the cd and gave it to the religious teacher at my school for him to ‘inspect’. Dirty little secret: I still kept the cd; even after was advised that it was too sensual and worldly. It got lost or broken. When I went out to Oregon for nine months to the religious program, met a fellow fan, she copied the cd -remember that?- and gave it to me. A year later, when I was in a regular college back home, wrote a poem dedicated to him for one of my classes. Sent it to him, somehow. One of his ppl sent back word to me that he loved my poem. Wonder if he still has it? ..... ah nostalgia. Well anyway thank you to all who responded to this post on 6/13/21 at 2:18am

Bloodstained Heart was playing in a local (I'm from Singapore) radio channel and I squealed and nearly had a fit because I would never have thought that the radio channel would ever play it - Darren's not exactly mainstream. So happy.
