As a middle school teacher, I see firsthand the effect that a bad environment/relationship has on the psyche of a child. I can see who is mistreated and who is loved just based on their actions in the classroom. All of these contestants remind me of certain students that I currently have. The kiddos who were shoved aside so now they have issues with self-worth, the kiddos who are constantly tormented by family and peers so they become a bully as a form of armor, the kiddos who are constantly nit-picked so they become a perfectionist to their own detriment, the kiddos who are used to abuse at home so they end up in an abusive relationships themselves because that’s what they feel is “normal”. I have fallen in love with all of these performers throughout the competition and admire ALL of their talent as entertainers and artists…but this episode completely brought out the teacher feels in me and I just want to reach through the screen and give each of these beautiful people a hug. Part of maturity is recognizing that all people are the way they are for a reason. If you don’t like a contestant for whatever reason, step outside of yourself and into their shoes. Imagine what they have had to endure and are still enduring. This world would be a much better place if we all tried to understand one another rather than tear each other down. We are ALL going through something, including the contestants. Be kind. Always. YOU have the power to make someone’s day better, and you also have the power to make it worse. Although I find these episodes with side quests a bit boring, this one was fantastic. We get some drama at the beginning and then we got deeper insight into the characters of all contestants. All confessionals were really emotional and I'm glad we saw this, because it shows them in more human and vulnerable light. Good job everyone.
I don’t wanna call hypocrisy but isn’t Hydra calling Orbit’s outfit trash equivalent to Orbit calling Tyler’s drag “boo-boo”? Like I don’t think either are “mean” they’re just real.
Looking back, Hydra's comments are all about outfits, performances, the actual drag aspects of the people she was critiquing. It's neutral stuff that never attacks the person behind the drag character, just the measurable outcome of their efforts. But all comments on Hydra are on her as a PERSON. You can paint a better mug, you can come up with a better design, but what Hydra is being showered with is 'you are a bad person, you are negative and worthless and nobody values your opinions'. That's an awful thing to do to a person, and it shows no compassion.
Legit excited to see Mera next week! I watch her daily and I'm sure she'll be an incredible judge, plus I love seeing the wider community supporting this show!
Thank you Tyler for sharing your experiences. It's unfortunately an experience that is all too common amongst 2SLGBTQIA+ peoples. I know I don't know you personally, but seeing you excelling in this competition and sharing some of your most vulnerable moments with us has me feeling so proud of you.
I really wish people were kinder towards Hydra... But I think a lot of the crew think they have comparable experiences and just, ignore the fact that Hydra is very isolated where she is, in a country that hates everything that makes her amazing. Trisha wore makeup TO SCHOOL, while Hydra had to practice with makeup late at night when her parents were asleep, and slowly create a makeup stash by ordering it online to keep things hidden.

Loved these queens this season Orbit for the win ⭐, Sh'needza or Titanic Donovan for miss congeniality ⭐, Hydra for shade central 😄, and everyone for fan favorite 😘
I think Susan's really hit the nail on the head with how she described Hydra! To me, Hydra has never seem as someone who's trying to be shady, except when the challenge called for it (the roast), but rather as someone who's just brutally honest but without ANY malicious intent, just say it as it is, as she feels it, she can't help if she feels negatively about something. It kind of reminds me of Yvie Oddly situation on season 11. Obviously I don't know what's going on in the background when the cameras aren't rolling, but I really don't understand the hantred towards her, it hurts to see her beat herself up over it like this, especially with the calibre of drag she presents and the love she clearly has for the art form. #teamHydra
Idk the difference to me is hydra seems to enjoy putting people down. Maybe it's the smirks but she seems to be looking for fights. I know competition can be shady but if she can't take it she should be nicer and not dish out so much...
Girl.... I got lost.😅 So Hydra is hated by the cast because she clearly voices when she is not impressed with someone's performance or drag??? I kinda agree with Susan? that Hydra just does not have a filter and is brutally honest. I am intrigued to see how this will develop. Great episode, rooting for all the drag performers for the next challenge.❤

Idk susan. Malicious and viciously honest is kinda the same thing. To be malicious is to intentionally hurt people and being viciously honest is the same thing. Why choose to be brutally honest if that’s not the reputation you want.? You can be honest without being hurtful or mean. Ppl who use being brutally honest as a way for them to get away with being rude to ppl isn’t the move. You can be viciously honest all you want, but you gotta be ready for what comes with that. You have to know there’s a possibility of hurting someone’s feelings when you’re saying hurtful stuff and you don’t get to choose how they react to it.
