I record at 2.7k and export for YT at 1440p, so the battery lasts about 2 hours anyway - this is usually enough for me. Though I do have a 12v PD charger so it could run continuously on that - I have mic2 now so that would work. It is on a gopro adapter upside down below the mirror. You still have the magnetic clip so easy to take on and off. It isn#'t permanently mounted as I use it regularly elsewhere
@@4wdfarm Thanks!Do you use the loop mode function in Action 4 or you just straight away record everything while driving? I assume it will eat up a lot of SDcard space?
@@kernelspy If you were using it more as a dashcam you could record 1080p which is still very good quality and smaller file sizes. I don't really use it a dashcam in case of accident or whatever but you could do I assume the loop repeatedly overwrites - sorry haven' looked in it. It can take at least 256GB card which would be many hours at 1080p I have a 256GB card in mine and at 1080p it says over 13 hours. - There are probably better dashcams, but if you were also wanting to do quality recording with audio for YT from time to time it's not a bad choice.
I'm using a lavalier on the sunshade thing above my head it isn't attched to me. I think it is by Saramonic with usbC plug straight in to camera. Without it you get more noise from vehicle which is not all bad but for talking vlog style seems best using it. I had the mic before with Action 3 so a while since I bought it - sorry not very specific which one.
Did you connect your Action 4 to an external battery pack? Which mount did you use?

Audio is from the canera or external microphone?
