Thanks for watching. 👌 I use it really often. You have nice control while cutting and the cuts are straight and depending on the blade also clean. But it really comes down to how straight the guides are and how to fix the jig to the material and the workbench.
This Awesome Trick. I just bought a small jigsaw for small DIY works. And it's so hard to cut in a straight line. I am gonna try this trick and see for sure. Thanks.
Hi Bilul, thanks for comment and the support. 👍Yep, I like to make the tools using either the tool it is desined for or other tools I already built that you can build as well. Are you going to make one?
@@AllFlavorWorkshop yes..I already built one. Using my jigsaw under a small (very small table). But when I cut small size of woods , it kinda kicks my hands while holding it. But when I use bigger size then it cuts without any problem.

@@bipulkalita5780 Okok, looks good at my side. But a clamp would be good in this case to fix smaller pieces. Good point. I have planned to make one in the future. That would upgrade nicely the jig. 👌
I think one stop blocker on a side is enough. No need to add double side. If you make a double side stop blocking, it is better to make sure get a longer wood sheet to do the guide. Let’s said you make a 24 inches long guide, you need to buy a 36 inches wood sheet because the jig saw and the stop blocker bar take so space.
im about to make something like this and it looks great but . . . . . i dont see the point of adding stop blocks at each end this will only decrease the cutting so i shall leave mine open so i can begin the cut earlier and finnish later

After recently buying a jigsaw and struggling to cut straight lines I've turned to RUclips for help and found your video. The cutting guide looks great so thanks very much for sharing the video. Just one question, at 09:35 you line the slot in the guide up with your marked cut line. If I wanted to cut to the side of my marked cut line rather than exactly on it, would this guide still work? I'm trying to see how I'd be able to see my marked cut line if I moved the guide slightly off it if you see what I mean. Many Thanks.
Hello Mark, firstly, thank you. 🙂 As per your question, it would work, but you will have to experiment with the guide a bit. Try to make few test cuts. If you align the cut line to side of the guide slot it might be difficult to see, but it works. Also, what might help is making few markings on the front base and back base of the guide (mark the left and the right side of the cut slot) and align the drawn line with those. Hopefully, you understand ;)
@@AllFlavorWorkshop Hi, Thanks for taking the time to reply. From what your saying it sounds like it's certainly possible so that's my morning taken care of tomorrow. I'll get one made up and let you know how I get on 🙂 Thanks, Mark

Great ideas with the jigs....I'm going to have to make a couple of these for myself. I'm wondering though.....maybe we should get you a new pencil - the one you're using is a little on the small side. Good job, thanks so much!
Hello Susan, nice to see another DIYer ;) I am building a web page that will contain additional information on the projects I make. It is not up yet so please bear with me. For this one it is - 60 x 14 cm outer, 24,5 x 8,4 inner. I am keeping the jigsaw shoe. Sight holes are 2cm diameter at 5,5 cm from each other. Total height is 2,5 and the base is 1,2cm. Hope that helps. 👍 Thanks!
Hi Chris, I sometimes noticed if not glued well the side pieces tend to wobble which does not make a steady guide for the jigsaw. So I am securing it with screws as well. Feel like that's not much of extra work. Nevertheless I believe if glued well it would hold tightly as well. Thank you 👍
@@chrisham4430 I made it a bit more tight. It loosens a bit in time and I compensated with the jigsaw shoe for an easier slide. Though I sanded the surface with a high grit sand paper and that did the job for me. In the jigsaw station table video I was using aluminium angles as guides and I guess this one had even a better outcome. Though both do the job well.

Whenever I use a jigsaw and ruler to support one side of jigsaw foot, or a guide supporting both sides of jigsaw foot, I get inuppropriate results, the blade goes under angle. From my experience consequently, both types of jigs are inappropriate for jigsaw, at least for mine. I have green Bosch jigsaw. I measured the foot and blade angle with inclinometer, and they seem to be parallel say less then 0.2° mismatch, quite close. The blade is 20tpi, the reciprocial move is turned off, everything in order, but the jigs tested generally unusable. I do not advise making these, either with one or with two supporting sides. Only hand guidence of jigsaw should be practiced.
I think it's a problem with reciprocating saws, as with a scroll saw. I made long jig from two aluminum bars to cut a 2m stock, it broke blades, so I had to cut freehand. I'm not sure this will work with long work pieces. You know how you have to follow the blade as you try to cut a straight line with a scrollsaw? You don't push straight, but at an angle to keep a straight line.
@@technoshamanarchist I agree - jigsaw seems limited by it's construction. For long cutting in my small workshop I generally prefer using my circular saw with jig. The cut is precise and secure, like cutting on table saw. Jigsaw is for free cutting.
I could compare it with table saw, the cut looks neat and precise. Lovely stuff 👌
