WOW! This happened to my '09 Chrysler T&C yesterday. I came across this video and gave it a try and it worked! I had to park and restart the van and the warning lights were off! I have been running errands in the van the past 2 hours and the lights have remained off - Thanks so much for this information!
Mine worked! 😊 had to try it a couple of times but stay at 10 to 15mph, then put on Neutral. Then, shut the van off for 10 to 15 seconds, then start it and walla! 🎉 I was about to buy an instrument cluster 😮
I have a 2008 T&C. Lights would come on over 12 mph. Tried this suggestion, lots of experimenting, maybe 20 attempts. I think this combo finally worked: First, I found an empty parking lot, Sunday evening, after hours. While moving at about 10-15 mph, put shifter in Neutral. Turn the key full OFF (all dash lights out). Wait 2-3 seconds. Turn key ON (not START) for a few seconds till most of the dash light "tests" go out. Getting ABS/BAS/ESP lights to stay off took me a few attempts. Might have to keep key OFF a little longer to clear the warning lights -- AND REMEMBER: with the engine OFF, you're rolling with no power steering/power brakes, so be sure to have plenty of straight empty space ahead. While still rolling, with warning lights out, turn key to START. Put shifter in Drive and keep the vehicle under 10 mph for about 8 min. That seemed to "retrain" my sensors, so far. I didn't try the "shut off, wait 15 minutes" others suggested, and that might have worked, too. I didn't try a cold start with no warning lights and just driving under 10 mph for 10 min (I don't know if this would work, but it would avoid the dangerous rolling with the engine OFF stuff). Please be safe. Do this with lots of empty space. Also, this won't fix a failed sensor, electrical short, mechanical issue, etc. Hope something easy works for you!
My advice is to be patient. I first tried it three times...didn't work. Came back and read more of the comments...tried it several more times no results. Then I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes still no change. Then I read the post about letting it run for awhile and making sure you turn the key all the way to off. After that took it out and on the third time it worked. Drove it around for awhile and the lights never came back on. A total of 14 times but it finally worked.
Final report.....It's been over three weeks, driven the van almost 500 miles and the lights are still off. I even spun the tires once a week ago on wet pavement but they didn't come back on. Final report because at 263,251 miles we've donated it and bought a new vehicle. Kind of a sad day.

This happened to me and when I turned the car off. Everything was back to normal. The code reader said two O2 sensors were bad and I had a misfire on all cylinders. It did make the gadge cluster flicker and the van eventually cut off. The next day I drove it no problems, so I tried this,just in case and I thought it was fine. Later that night on a delivery all the lights came back as I was doing about 45mph. So I tried this and haven't had a problem yet. Fingers crossed. Thank you!
This worked for my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. It took a few tries. On the last one, I had given up, but I left the car running for about 15 minutes afterward. After I went back to it, the ABS and brake lights were off and have not come on, after some driving. The lights initially went on when I spun my tires on wet pavement. THANKS!
Thanks this fix helped us! We got it on our '08 Grand Caravan after a hard brake that activated the ABS. Hasn't come back afterwards so I think the sensors are fine.
My 08 Nitro was shifting weird with all the lights as well. Once the lights got reset, all is well with shifting again. Thank you for posting this it worked!
I have had these lights for a really long time. It's 4am and I came across this video. Took my 2009 for a quick spin and had no luck I tried multipletimes times at different speeds. However, I did not tourn the key all the way to the off position. I'll try that in the morning. Thanks for sharing it seems that it works for a lot of people.

To all you guys that sound mad in the comments I am not claiming that this will fix your sensors all I’m saying that this will reset them and you can clearly see in the video that it worked this video is 100% honest and I have no interest if you fix your sensor or if you don’t , all I know is that if you go to a dealership or to a dishonest mechanic they will make you replace a bunch of sensors you don’t need to . Sooo just try this first you have nothing to lose
We sure don't have anything to lose by giving it a try. If it works, that's great. If not, at least you gave it a try. Whining never solves anything. 👍
How do i contact your mechanic friend? My wifes 2010 Town and Country is a mechanical clusterfuck. We have had the entire TIPM replaced and that solved alot of problems. I will try this "shift to nuetral" fix. Can't hurt.

The transmission control solenoid on the front of the transmission was toast and needed replaced. With that done, it has been shifting fine, so far. I had already replaced the transmission solenoid module for a different problem and my mechanic said he thought about calling and asking about replacing the shift control solenoid while he was in there since they have a tendency to go out, but then he didn't! and just replaced the module. He's one of those that doesn't add things just to change more. Then that single solenoid went completely out and had to be done anyway. I like when a RUclipsr finds something they tried successfully and shares it with us. Over the years, this has saved me time and money. Sometimes nothing but replacing a bad part is the only answer.
What part of the country are you located in? My mechanic doesn't mind diagnosing a local vehicle or one that has been trucked in to him, but he works alone and is swamped all the time. If you're close to Elk Port Iowa or want your vehicle hauled to him to diagnose and repair I'll be happy to give you the name of his business. You need the proper diagnostic tools to go with the knowledge one has. Phone diagnostics take away from jobs already being repaired.
My lights came on at 75 mph and went off after I hit the traction control button. However, the lights are back so, I will give this a shot and we'll see what happens. Thanks for the great video!

2007 Dodge Nitro (jeep liberty big brother). Had this problem for 3-4 days out of nowhere. Drove local street 30 mph and put into N and turned ignition off so engine stopped running. Let it roll a few secs then started the car while still rolling. 2 days later problem has not returned. This can work if your car doesn't have any bad sensors or wiring.

I just did this a couple minutes ago on a not too busy street. At first it didn’t work. Then I did it slower at my office parking lot and turned the ignition completely off and then put it in neutral started it and the lights went away. I think the key is to make sure you turn the fob all the way to the off position instead of just enough to kill the engine. I’ll follow up as I drive today.
Did the vehicle have to stop to put it in neutral or did you turn the vehicle off and immediately put it in neutral and then as the vehicle stopped put it back to park and then start? Or did you start the vehicle in neutral?
2010 gc has those lights on plus the speed needle in the cluster jumps down to zero then jumps again but most of the time it goes down will this fix my problem thanks
Didn't work on my dodge nitro ! Was out for about 35 minutes straight trying it with the hope that it might work on that one last time and be a success story I could tell the future grandkids.... that one last time never came 😥😅😅 Well back to the drawing board
Super funny Jaime. I was planning to try this on my Nitro as well but now I won't get my hopes up. What's really annoying is that one minute you drive with no problem. The next time you start driving these lights come on and you didn't do anything to create this problem.
@@MarketingCoachKen yeah it's super frustrating. For me it turned out to be a front passenger side wheel speed sensor that had actually somehow snapped and frayed apart and so when one of the 4 wheel speed sensors go it makes the car play up with a whole array of weird problems. For me it still drive okay but the ABS and traction control lights where constantly up on the the dash and it also knocks out the cruise control for some reason. After the garage replaced the sensor it was back to normal again.
@@MarketingCoachKen but saying that it can also be the TIPM that's playing up.... that's the little electrical circuit control board under the hood that controls all of the sensors and electronics for the car.... And it's quite the common and well known problem on the dodge that the TIPM plays up. Iv actually got a TIPM override system that you just plug in to the TIPM... literally just fits like a glove on to the circuit board And all of these people having problems with they're dodges windows going up and down and the horn going off on its own and the headlights flashing on there own or just randomly not starting and then starting again etc etc can be avoided with this TIPM override system. so you'll never experience any of that crap!

Now this is a cool trick to reset it. Normally you would have to get a obd2 abs scanner to trouble shoot or another way is to put it on a lift and spin tires or pull fuse but yeah cool quick trick 👍👍
Would you ask your mechanic friend if it is possible to completely turn off the ABS, traction control, and BAS on a 2009 VW Routan 3.8? It keeps turning on automatically and is causing this horrible sound periodically until the system finally shuts itself off only to come back on when I restart the van. I do believe that the wheel speed sensor is faulty but I can’t afford to fix it right now and every time the system turns on automatically it is causing more damage and problems. I don’t have anyone to ask and you mention having a really good friend who is excellent at what he does and I thought I would ask.

Only problem with me is to change between park reverse drive neutral is in order to switch, I have to be pushing on the brake, so do I push on the brake to do it, or am I not supposed to push anything except for putting it into neutral as I turn off the car?
This just helps you reset the sensors If the sensors are bad, they have to be replaced or your traction control doesn’t work The Dodge caravans are pretty decent cars, but they’re really bad on gas you’re not gonna get more than 14 to 16 miles per gallon
I have a 2007 300c. Test sad that my two rear speed sensors was bad. Replace them, but all my lights are still on on my dash. They be flashing while driving. Speedarmitor sits at 0mph but i be moving
I have a 2008 Grand Caravan 220 KM and just couple of days back all those 4 lights ABS, ESP, break etc. came on the dashboard. I could drive it normally without issues for about 2 days and on the third day the van started vibrating on start (and continuously thereafter) and the four lights come back only after the speed touches around 20 km per hour and keeps vibrating. I towed it to my mechanic and I believe the engine cylinder is gone bad and replacing the engine is expensive. The problem you have described for your van looks similar except that my van vibrates continuously. Can you advise if it is the engine failure or just the ABS module that is creating the issue of vibration and the lights. The van also does not pick up speed fast enough like before. Appreciate your response. Thanks
Could you help me out? I'm desperate! My Grand Caravan 2010 3.3. was working just great! I took it to the mechanic to have the rear break paths and distribution chain replaced. They gave me the truck back with three major failures. The ESP OFF is permanently deactivated, the code P0344 is permanently on and now the transmission doesn't go beyond 3rd gear and Cruise control is not working. I told the mechanic that the problem was in the distribution area. He removed the new distribution parts and ended up telling me that those were not the good replacement parts. So he mounted again the old parts and they "reprogrammed" the entire vehicle but the problem continues. ESP OFF and Check engine related to p0344 code continue to appear. And the transmission is a mess. I don't know exactly what they did with my truck but it's now useless. Please help anybody.
Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. Tried 10 times they are still there. I had issues the week prior my horn was honking windshield fluid spraying wipers whipping locks locking. Just everything electronic going off like a spooky ghost movie. Damn I hate dodge Chrysler.
So I see the yellow light staying on on far left..my van has that same light staying on..a 2010 Town & Country..an exclamation mark inside a U shape..it is a brake light too? Right?
@@MONSTER-sf5il hi..thanks..shortly after posting, I found another web page explaining dash lights and IDing them..and found this tire pressure warning symbol which is close looking to one of the brake warning lights with exclamation mark inside a circle..glad I come acrossp your video here or otherwise I might have went the brake troubleshooting since just had rear pads and rotor replaced and thinking maybe the ABS sensor was not put baock in correctly..found a tire over filled and one at 26 Lb. Got all 4 tires at 36 lbs. And light went out..yay..😀
Dougie Fresh It resets the lights only!! keep in mind if your sensors are bad it does not fix the sensors Sometimes on these vehicles after you spin your tires of your ABS lights come on And they will not go off until you go to a technician and if it’s somebody that you don’t know they could lie to you and put all new sensors for no reason so this will reset them if they need resetting
Usually some thing is wrong when it keeps coming back That really means that something has to be This method is meant just to reset it more than anything else
I do this when it won't shift to 4th gear . And goes back to shifting normal. Obviously you need to take it to honest mechanic. But to make it home . avoid towing fees..
Ok so this happened in my 2009 dodge Journey. And with the lights on my AWD doesn't work. And when the lights go out it spudders and has a hard time accelerating when the lights are on it drives ok. Idk i do t feel comfortable with doing this to my car. But these lights came on after I spun my tires on an icy road that's it. And the lights came on and never went away.
I had the same thing happen!!! I just drove it for a few days and it eventually went off. I think the ABS computer senses a fault with a speed sensor and trips the dummy lights. It’s probably a speed sensor that’s giving faulty data and is going bad.
Yeah I would suggest doing this in a very big empty parking lot. You not only lose power steering you lose all steering. The steering wheel literally will lock when the key is in the off position and if you have trouble getting it back into the on position cuz you're not usually doing this you could be in big trouble on a road. Besides that have fun.
@@jenramos9225 Mine had a floor shifter (automatic). I believe I went in the console and broke of the thing that keeps you from shifting into reverse while driving. The lights never came on again. I sold it anyway. Lol
@@kalielwebb3774 it cost me $1600 and from what can tell its a pretty common problem with dodge. I just sold the car it was a money pit it was one sensor after another. Good luck
@@brianj123458 oh wow. I ended up getting mine fixed. My mechanic got one from the junkyard and I paid $350 for labor and parts. He would’ve got one from the dealer brand new but since it’s only a dealer part. I told him to get the junkyard one because it was much cheaper and I’m only going to keep it for another year or two and then I’m going to get me a new car
I fixed mine by being in neutral and parking brake set, and pushing the brake pedal all the way down to the floor 5-10 times. Vehicle needs to be running while these actions are performed.
making the light go away doesnt solve the acutal mechanical problem with the car... sure it removes the light but does the car actually function properly... i mean what if your ABS, and EPS BAS system has actually failed... smh

Whats the step by step procedure please..i dont understand putting the car the neutral from drive without damaging the transmission

All right, so unfortunately this did not work for me. Tried it 4x and the lights came on every time.
If you tried it, and it still doesn’t work, that means more than likely the sensors are bad and something has to be changed/fixed

That yellow light is mean your tire air very low I have that problem when you put air some air it turn off light him self 👍

Super funny Jaime. I was planning to try this on my Nitro as well but now I won't get my hopes up. What's really annoying is that one minute you drive with no problem. The next time you start driving these lights come on and you didn't do anything to create this problem.
@@MarketingCoachKen yeah it's super frustrating. For me it turned out to be a front passenger side wheel speed sensor that had actually somehow snapped and frayed apart and so when one of the 4 wheel speed sensors go it makes the car play up with a whole array of weird problems.
For me it still drive okay but the ABS and traction control lights where constantly up on the the dash and it also knocks out the cruise control for some reason.
After the garage replaced the sensor it was back to normal again.
@@MarketingCoachKen but saying that it can also be the TIPM that's playing up.... that's the little electrical circuit control board under the hood that controls all of the sensors and electronics for the car....
And it's quite the common and well known problem on the dodge that the TIPM plays up.
Iv actually got a TIPM override system that you just plug in to the TIPM... literally just fits like a glove on to the circuit board
And all of these people having problems with they're dodges windows going up and down and the horn going off on its own and the headlights flashing on there own or just randomly not starting and then starting again etc etc can be avoided with this TIPM override system.
so you'll never experience any of that crap!
@@jaimeclark9149 I'm going to look for a video on that item. I was able to try this hack from this video yesterday. So far it is working after 2 days driving. It worked on my first attempt.
Now this is a cool trick to reset it. Normally you would have to get a obd2 abs scanner to trouble shoot or another way is to put it on a lift and spin tires or pull fuse but yeah cool quick trick 👍👍

Would you ask your mechanic friend if it is possible to completely turn off the ABS, traction control, and BAS on a 2009 VW Routan 3.8? It keeps turning on automatically and is causing this horrible sound periodically until the system finally shuts itself off only to come back on when I restart the van. I do believe that the wheel speed sensor is faulty but I can’t afford to fix it right now and every time the system turns on automatically it is causing more damage and problems. I don’t have anyone to ask and you mention having a really good friend who is excellent at what he does and I thought I would ask.

Only problem with me is to change between park reverse drive neutral is in order to switch, I have to be pushing on the brake, so do I push on the brake to do it, or am I not supposed to push anything except for putting it into neutral as I turn off the car?

If the sensors are bad, they have to be replaced or your traction control doesn’t work
The Dodge caravans are pretty decent cars, but they’re really bad on gas you’re not gonna get more than 14 to 16 miles per gallon

I have a 2007 300c. Test sad that my two rear speed sensors was bad. Replace them, but all my lights are still on on my dash. They be flashing while driving. Speedarmitor sits at 0mph but i be moving

I have a 2008 Grand Caravan 220 KM and just couple of days back all those 4 lights ABS, ESP, break etc. came on the dashboard. I could drive it normally without issues for about 2 days and on the third day the van started vibrating on start (and continuously thereafter) and the four lights come back only after the speed touches around 20 km per hour and keeps vibrating. I towed it to my mechanic and I believe the engine cylinder is gone bad and replacing the engine is expensive. The problem you have described for your van looks similar except that my van vibrates continuously. Can you advise if it is the engine failure or just the ABS module that is creating the issue of vibration and the lights. The van also does not pick up speed fast enough like before.

My Grand Caravan 2010 3.3. was working just great! I took it to the mechanic to have the rear break paths and distribution chain replaced. They gave me the truck back with three major failures. The ESP OFF is permanently deactivated, the code P0344 is permanently on and now the transmission doesn't go beyond 3rd gear and Cruise control is not working. I told the mechanic that the problem was in the distribution area. He removed the new distribution parts and ended up telling me that those were not the good replacement parts. So he mounted again the old parts and they "reprogrammed" the entire vehicle but the problem continues. ESP OFF and Check engine related to p0344 code continue to appear. And the transmission is a mess. I don't know exactly what they did with my truck but it's now useless. Please help anybody.
Mine ended up being a bad speed sensor for the left front wheel. $20 later and I was on the road again. 🙂
Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. Tried 10 times they are still there. I had issues the week prior my horn was honking windshield fluid spraying wipers whipping locks locking. Just everything electronic going off like a spooky ghost movie. Damn I hate dodge Chrysler.

@@MONSTER-sf5il hi..thanks..shortly after posting, I found another web page explaining dash lights and IDing them..and found this tire pressure warning symbol which is close looking to one of the brake warning lights with exclamation mark inside a circle..glad I come acrossp your video here or otherwise I might have went the brake troubleshooting since just had rear pads and rotor replaced and thinking maybe the ABS sensor was not put baock in correctly..found a tire over filled and one at 26 Lb. Got all 4 tires at 36 lbs. And light went out..yay..😀
My 08 dodge Grand caravan went into limp mode and all the letters ( P R N D L) had a box around it. Does anyone know how to fix it

Dougie Fresh It resets the lights only!! keep in mind if your sensors are bad it does not fix the sensors
Sometimes on these vehicles after you spin your tires of your ABS lights come on And they will not go off until you go to a technician and if it’s somebody that you don’t know they could lie to you and put all new sensors for no reason so this will reset them if they need resetting

I do this when it won't shift to 4th gear . And goes back to shifting normal. Obviously you need to take it to honest mechanic. But to make it home . avoid towing fees..

Ok so this happened in my 2009 dodge Journey. And with the lights on my AWD doesn't work. And when the lights go out it spudders and has a hard time accelerating when the lights are on it drives ok. Idk i do t feel comfortable with doing this to my car. But these lights came on after I spun my tires on an icy road that's it. And the lights came on and never went away.
That is what exactly happened on my car and they were on for days until I tried this and it worked
I had the same thing happen!!! I just drove it for a few days and it eventually went off. I think the ABS computer senses a fault with a speed sensor and trips the dummy lights. It’s probably a speed sensor that’s giving faulty data and is going bad.

Yeah I would suggest doing this in a very big empty parking lot. You not only lose power steering you lose all steering. The steering wheel literally will lock when the key is in the off position and if you have trouble getting it back into the on position cuz you're not usually doing this you could be in big trouble on a road. Besides that have fun.

@@jenramos9225 Mine had a floor shifter (automatic). I believe I went in the console and broke of the thing that keeps you from shifting into reverse while driving. The lights never came on again. I sold it anyway. Lol

@@brianj123458 oh wow. I ended up getting mine fixed. My mechanic got one from the junkyard and I paid $350 for labor and parts. He would’ve got one from the dealer brand new but since it’s only a dealer part. I told him to get the junkyard one because it was much cheaper and I’m only going to keep it for another year or two and then I’m going to get me a new car

Looks like u got a bad tpms sensor!!!! That flashing light on your dash is for the tire pressure monitor system and when it flashes it’s a fault

I fixed mine by being in neutral and parking brake set, and pushing the brake pedal all the way down to the floor 5-10 times. Vehicle needs to be running while these actions are performed.

making the light go away doesnt solve the acutal mechanical problem with the car... sure it removes the light but does the car actually function properly... i mean what if your ABS, and EPS BAS system has actually failed... smh
