Great lesson, Soren, thank you. We always focus on trying to play long lines, and that's fine, but rhythm is most important, it makes solos interesting and surprising. Regards
Great content...thanx very much....just a little hint...leaving space is as important as playing a note....good exercise is playing in the first bar of a given chord progression and in the next bar leave space etc.(e.g. II-V-I-VI ) and vice versa telling a story. Regards
so true so true - great exercise and practice method indeed - play a line - take time to listen and play again! Thank you so much for commenting! Inspired!
Definitely going to try this approach out, thanks. I think too much in terms of notes rather than rhythm. Will look at your exercises in different keys sequences and modes and also try to devise some of my own. Great stuff!
U do this all day every day. My coworkers hate me even though they like my voice!
Keep going :)
Excellent material, thanks!

Thank you so much for the confidence, the method works so well, I am sometimes amazed myself
As you are(body) what you eat; that's you play what you hear, simle as that.
I can only agree with you. So important
thought is the enemy of flow, listen more , think less.
True true and true
@@sorenballegaardmusic Not sure who said it originally but I got it from Matteo Mancuso.

Hey, next time you do the scat, can you zoom in to your mouth and face when you do it. Would be pure gold ❤
