My dad always had a bilimbi tree for my mom to cook with the fruits. She’d use it in place of limes for shrimp or fish dishes. We call it piyas though. And we never eat it raw like that. Lol!
almost 4 years later I believe your idea of grafting both the bilimbi and star fruit together would give you the best hybrid fruit-- wrong my dude, bilimbi is so sour and acidic it cuts away on your gum... star fruit is very sweet when it's in those good years, if it ever works, I'd say the hybrid fruit will become a very sour star fruit or a less acidic bilimbi.... tell me how it turns out tho lol

It's the time of the year to rewatch this again
The tropics are incredible, your head must be spinning with all the plants and trees you can see and grow.
Yeah... it's overwhelming. Takes a while to sink in.
I like weirdness, so I gotta find that first Bilimbi video. David, you exhibit wry humor. Tres wonderful, man!
Wow! I enjoy watching your video.thanks for sharing
Starting ingredient for a great marinade?
Very interesting......
I loved your last video! But I was a little disappointed that there were no Chupacabras.
That was a complete oversight on my part. I'm going to have to fix that in a future film.
Hahahaha. i always gave bilimbi to friends. love their reaction.
Does your bilimbi ever turn yellow and looses its leaves? Im worried
I liked this better than the last LOL :D
That most moment of the first video... when you suddenly spliced in that clip... hilarious.
We call bilimbi souree in St. Lucia.
Whe can I get one of these trees?
Try a fruit tree nursery. A lot of nurserymen have connections for rare fruit trees.
You know of any in pinellas park FL? I had some in Thailand recently and now crave it! Haha
My gosh, i gound your video and i am,looking for this fruit,do u want to sell it? I am from Indonesia and we eat that lots.
I think I'm liking the way your wife thinks!
NO! Don't encourage her!
My Bilimbi is turning yellow and loosing its leaves, what's wrong with it? Helppp
Sometimes they do that if over or underwatered.
@@davidthegood might be over watering as its been rainy here, but i put my fingers two inches deep it seems dry. Will it still bounce back?
Mine survived serious drought and grew back.
Why don't you just air layer the tree?
Anyone else saw what I sat at 7:57 !? The tropics are horrifying.
So long as you don't crush one, they're harmless. If you mess with one, though, they eject an acid that causes blisters. Heh.
This grows wild on the island of guam n we eat it with salt n hot chili peppers. Or with soysauce.
Well I like my bilimbis raw with salt
i eat these with salt!! and it's the best thing ever!
We have a very sour fruit n Asia....we eat it with salt n crush chili.....so satisfying lol
