What a journey in 2023. Can't be more chuffed to see what the Mad Watch Collector has for us in 2024. I'm sure it will be magnificent! Well done, Russ!
Spence! Thank you so much my friend! (Got the email btw!) thank you so much for the support this year it’s been a great positive boost for me honestly! Have a lovely few days and we’ll speak again on the other side!!
Russell, this may be the best watch video of 2023 I watched. Your choices were solid, your comments informative and entertaining, and it still has that MWC vibe we all love. Have a great 2024.
What a great wrap up! Well done on a big year. I'm so happy my Dad put me on to your channel when I mentioned I was ready to move back to a mech/auto watch. Watch collecting IS fun, thanks for reminding everyone.
Great list - congrats on the success of your channel this year. I picked up the CW Dune this year, whilst nothing revolutionary - im really enjoying it. Lovely dimensions too.
Love this channel - Wishing you and Yours a Very Happy New Year. Thanks you for a year of enjoyable, informative and fun content - long time subscriber . I think Longines had a great year with the Hydroconquest GMT and the Zulu 39 mm
What a list! A bit of everything in there, something for everyone. My personal favorite watches this year have been my AE1200 in black that I wear on a green 18mm nato that came with me to Ireland, and my Islander X TGV Rangemaster Mechanical that came to me later in the year but has been dominating the wrist since it showed up and has made dragging my watch roll around with me, near pointless. It’s a strap monster and I’ve even been toying with getting a blasted jubilee style bracelet for it. Bronze medal goes to the DW290 (even accompanying me to see the new MI:7) Thanks for a great year of content my friend! Hope you had a great holiday with the family and have a good new year. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for 2024! Cheers! 🍻
What a great top 10! And what a year 2023 has been for the channel! Can’t wait to see where the weird and wonderful world of watches takes you in 2024!
Thanks for all your great videos this year! Great reviews with laugh out loud extras (House of Pagani and Wife's Thoughts 😂). Keep up the good work in 2024.
I love your choices, varied and extremely tasteful. If only I could afford a Tudor🤔 My favourite I bought this year would definitely be an Orient Bambino V2 AC00009N; an absolutely gorgeous watch. If only Casio made one..
Bought 2 Oris Aquisses this year (43.5 mm sunburst cherry dial, and the 41.5 mm Calibre 400 sunburst green dial) and these two friends are never going to leave the collection.
I'm more into Casio Watches. Fortunately I got the W86 as a gift this year. A must have watch. As for AE1200h, the black resin version is first the watch I got when I started watch collecting again 2 years ago.
Great stuff, have a great Christmas and keep on bringing us watch review gold. Watches on my horizon just now are the Certina DS Super PH1000M, orange / yellow dial, Laco Flieger, CWC Diver and maybe the Longines LD Blue dial 👍
Thanks for sharing that Vertex watch which is very significant to your life. Hope you have continued success in 2024 ... and keep the show going! Happy New Year my friend 🙂👍🏼
Great show Russell! And some cracking watches! I love that Vertex! (and all Vertex, what a great brand!). My favorite 2023 watch purchase goes against the channel theme a bit as it's very much a clomage, but I love this thing and since I bought it, it's the only watch I've worn. It's the San Martin 40mm "Black Bay" in Blue. The best $180 I've ever spent. It's beautiful! Excellent build quality (much better than it has any right to be for $180). Also got lucky with the NH35 as out of the box it's losing 0.3 seconds a day. I love this thing so much! Merry Christmas Russell! All the best for a wonderful 2024!
Zero West Lancaster or Spitfire would be wonderful to own. Prices would have been nice. Now I have to look them up. My favorite watch is my new $70 Berny Titanium/Sapphire 100m dress watch. 78 grams. Watch brands have no excuse now not to make Ti and Sapphire watches.
The Zero West watch you reviewed on your channel was, by far, the most interesting watch of the year for me and will be very difficult to surpass in the future. In regards to history, the build and quality of the build, the design; everything about that watch is just perfect. It's my Holy grail watch. Happy New year to you and the Fam MWC.
@@DelcoWineDouche Aren't they absolutely gorgeous! I'm still in the process of saving up for one myself but I do hope you come back to the comments and share your experience if/when you get one for yourself.
@@zerowestwatches damn! I was looking at it hoping I would be able to ENGAGE! Now I know there’s no way to buy myself time if there’s only two left. 🤣. No chance you’re in the mood to be a day late secret Santa this season…..❤️
Great list. My 3 watch purchases of 2023 were the CW bel canto(black dial), Formex Essence(white dial) and right at the end of the year, the new Zelos Blacktip MOP teal. Not sure what 2024 will bring.
All lovely watches but the Vertex is probably my favourite, something about all school watches, perhaps isn’t because I’m old. Your little looks so sweet, you must be very proud 🧸
Top choices Russell! I do own 50% of them though 😂 And one was entirely down to you - the Seiko 5 reissue is such a cool watch! I feel 2024 might be the year a Vertex makes its way into the box… 😱
Great video 👊🏽 That zero west was really cool 😍 And how come the Formex malachite didn't make the cut....I thought you loved it ✌🏽 even though I did see it right next to your bed 😊
Hope You and the Fam have had a Fantastic Chrimbo Russ.. You've been doing brilliant job here this Year!.. Next Year I predict the Algorithm Showering You with Viewery Goodness (whatever that is lol) .. anyways.. Thanks for the Entertainment!.. Have a Amazing New Year and all that Malarkey😊
Casio b640 and Casio w800 are the best minimalist casios to me. One with 50m water resistance and countdown timer, the other with the 100m water resistance
That G is beautiful. Casio has another watch out there with one of those bronze screens, I don't know the reference tho. But man, the bronze screens just look so retro-industrial. If I ever downsize my collection, I may just have to slide one in.
Put my deposit for the Bel Canto exactly a year ago. No watch yet… Otherwise I am enjoying my blue BB58 as much as you do. An awesome watch and a forever keeper!
I qas borned in '83, obviously i had to buy the Casio. 🙈 And i have the 55th anniversary Seiko too. It's good to see, that i have 2 watches from your best list. 🤜🤛
If i had the money for a Pelagos right now it would be the new FXD in black but the BelCanto is a real sweety and looker. Maybe i think this through a bit longer while i save up.
MWC, just curious, why haven't I seen you review any of the Seiko Astrons yet? They're absolutely brilliant, with Grand Seiko-esque quality but with GPS synchronization that provides accuracy to be +/- 1 second in 100,000 years. I got the SBXC049 for Christmas and while I love my automatics, this thing is simply brilliant. I'd absolutely love to hear your thoughts on that one.
Btw, I absolutely love your channel. Fun, informative, and very practical--absolutely a top-notch channel and probably my favorite. Cheers to you and yours heading into the New Year.
10:05 what other brands are made at the same place vertex is? Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor and Vertex
Your choices are solid, except for the 39mm Pelagos. I am disappointed they took away the 3D depth and major draw of the original Pelagos with that amazing dial. Huge disappointment.
You are my #1 watch show guy. If I had to rate you out of ten I would give you a 11. Keep up with your videos they are amazing. Your # 1 fan from all of Canada. Hit the like button hit it
Vertex wins hands down in terms of materials, refinement and history. But CWC watches are built like they are actual issued tools from the military! Made well but no thrills
Great list. The Zero West is interesting - but their logo is way too big. One of your 2024 resolutions should be to embrace Ti - it’s not going away. Love my Pelagos 39.
I love the look of a lot of these but I just don't like mechanical watches. Too inaccurate, need constant winding / wearing. I like to take a watch out of the drawer & just wear it. Bel Canto is one of my favorite purchases of the year! Happy New Year to you and Mrs. MWC.
