Thank you for these great ideas. I have 2 vacations worth of shells (at least 50). I painted some in solid colors using nail polish. I was bored with that, so this is great.

actually i thought that the second shell was a green sun reising but then when i saw the completed one i realised that it was a peacock!! i love all the three shells they were just amazing :) amazing awesome mind-blowing no words to say!!!!!!!

Dosnt it need to be glossed afterwards to seal the paint permanently?or will it stay on permanently with acrylic paint alone?
Brandii Miller I didn't add any gloss and mine haven't chipped. I guess it depends on the acrylic paint you use but for extra protection I'd advise it

Are they synthetic sea shells? Idk why but this would make me uncomfortable
If they were real shells. It feels like tacky or something. Or like you don’t appreciate the beauty of the shell on it’s own. 🤷♀️ why not paint rocks?
