My 4th of July 2022 Firework Show!

- 4th of July 2022 firework show! This show contained 239 cues across five positions. A ton of prep work went into making sure this show was a success. Music selection normally starts right after the 4th of July the previous year and the final section is made weeks in advance. Music editing, scripting, and pre-show prep can take weeks to finalize, all for an 8.5 minute show!
Minus a few effects not firing on the right most position and a few cakes going longer than they should, the show was a success!

Most people that watch a show like this go "Fireworks! Neat!" not having any idea how many hours of work go into it. Between scripting timed events, stepped events, step-timed events, poking cakes, fusing items, then getting multiple modules wired on the day of the show, it is DAYS of work. Good work Joel! Some of us see a show like this, and know EXACTLY how much work went into it!
I appreciate it! I actually did an announcement before the show talking about this a bit because you're totally right. It's a full on production lol
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics Yeah, my sister helped me wire the modules for my show last year, and got her eyes opened. She asked:" You mean you have to do all this for every show?" LOL! Well yes you do actually. She made sure everybody at the show that night knew how many hours it had taken us to organize, label, set, and wire the show. She didn't even get in on all the poking and top-removal I already had done before that.
Most people here are pyros. We know.
@@nunyabidness1972 Lol right, that's good though because it spreads the awareness
Fireworks!!! Neat!!!
10 out of 10. Congratulations on the show. Gonna watch this on repeat for the foreseeable future. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you, that is awesome to hear!
That was absolutely epic!! I love how you set up your firework shows. Can’t wait to see the next one in July 2023! Great work Joel!
Thank you! Hopefully I can do another one before next year!
This looked amazing! And when I realized there was a house in the bottom right corner, my perspective of scale really blew me away
same here
Thanks! The positions were 50' apart, so 200' total between position 1 and 5 for prospective. All of the cameras were between 330 to 350' away.
Absolute greatness
Finally much appreciated 🙏
This show is definitely slept on , This deserve at least 40,000 views by now. The music selection definitely pulls you in even more!!!!
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words
That was amazing Joel!!! One day I will do something like that. Just found out a friend of mine wants to do the same thing and he knows how to design and program that detonation control boxes. So maybe my dream of running or helping with a pyrotechnic show may still happen.
This is the type of show I would love to see in person instead of just randomly lighting the fuse.
This has to be one of the best shows I've ever seen you display!
Me too. I agree 100 percent. Me and my bro are pretty good and organizing an entire show with fuses. It’s completely our thing. Pyro maniacs. But yes this is our dream as well. With control boxes linked to music. One day brother. Good luck with your dream show.
@@dre1334 thank you. You too!
Thank you guys so much! It's definitely something you can do as well. The biggest thing is getting the firing system. From there it just takes a bit of practice and creativity
What an incredible job this year Joel! Loved the dramatic twist and pauses in this years show and it was well worth the wait! That fake to real finale was also awesome. I thought it was over for a second 😅
Thank you, glad to hear the fake finale got you haha! I thought that song was perfect for that
just no comparison - nobody out there does it like this fella - on another level by far - amazing!!!
Thanks brother!
Wow amazing show Joel those girendolas were great job well done
Thank you!
Good Job Joe that was one hell of a show. Those people watching that show in person were so lucky. Man I wish I had family and friends that are into this. They just don’t understand the excitement like I do. My goal is to get to where your at Joe. Awesome show bro
Thank you! I hear you there. You'll get there!
Such an amazing show, perfectly mastered, Beautifully designed, you are a true Pyro musical specialist!!!!💯💯👍🍻🎉🎉🎉😁🇺🇸
Thank you so much!
I use to watch your firework shopping videos as a kid and I think that’s what made me a pyro
That is awesome! Sorry for your addition haha
Dude that was down right fantastic! A lot of commitment to get the timeline to match up as it did showed! Keep up the great shows.
Thank you so much!
Take me to your leader!!!
Great show and I love the girandola effect!
I’ve loved watching the evolution of your firework artistry over the years! You are always looking for ways to take your shows to the next level.
I’ve added various effects to
My shows after watching yours and I’m definitely getting some Girandolas for my next show!!!
What was the cake at 7:50? Strobe Mine to Big Strobe breaks.
Thank you man! That was Amazing Strobe by Boomin' Bulldog
I think a narrated version of this video talking about what’s going off when, what didn’t work and your thoughts would be a great follow up to this video! Especially for us non-pyros!
I was thinking about doing that too actually!
Amazing work!!! I look for your firework display video every year for at least 6 or 7 years straight. I love all the different affects you use and how they all have a different purpose for them. Very well done!!!!
Thank you so much for watching all these years!
Awesome show as always Joel .... loved the girandolas placement, the false finale and then of course the grand finale. Spot on man!!!... Paul (aka, Shinobi Pyro) ;)
Thanks man! The girandola integration was one of my favorites too and they worked quite well!
I think it's safe to say that you nailed that again. Outstanding. The control you have over these shows is just amazing 👏💥💥💥
Thank you so much!
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics just telling you the truth. Look forward to seeing your shows every year. 💥💥👍
@@fastfireworks3177 I appreciate the support!
Great job. You should do a series on how and what you need to put music to a firework show
I intended to do that this year. Basically start my "prep" series with music selection/editing and then another on scripting, but I threw it together two weeks before the 4th and didn't have time lol. Hopefully in the future though!
Those Girandola's OMG!!! music and all!!!
WOW
This was sooo good!!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Awesome firework show Joel!!!! All the time, money, and effect you put into it and for it to turn out amazing like that is a great feeling. 👍
Thank you so much!
All that hard work paid off, beautiful show brother, well done, thank you
Awesome job and great show
I watched this on my tv and had to jump on my phone just to comment how amazing that show was, the timing of everything was perfect and the effects were so good I was dumbfounded. Great work as always.
Thank you so much!
WOW!!!! Now this is a true art piece of a firework show ! I have never seen anything like this ! I wish all firework shows were like this ! This beats ALOT of 1.3 professional shows , in my opinion! GREAT JOB!
Thank you! Most 1.3 shows are hired to shoot fireworks for X time and have to use X music the client picks. Totally takes the creativity right out of it!
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics and what tops it all is that you did this by YOURSELF !!
Very well done! Your timing was perfect!
Thank you!
Finally got around to watching this one. That was some of your best work yet Joel! There is definately some creative moments in there. Keep up the good work and stay green!
Thanks a ton!
I'm exhausted just thinking about the planning and work put in to this show. Kudos, Sir. That's a LOT of planning and calculations. Timing and coordination was excellent.
Thank you! You're 100% correct haha
Outstanding show, done perfectly like a true pyro, amazing job !!!!!!!
Thank you so much!
All I can say is that this is an amazing show! Joel your hard work is appreciated ♥️🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸♥️
Thank you!
Really a great show really awesome what you can do with fireworks
bravo , espectacular amigo
Thank you!
Ho--ly-shit! You outdid yourself, again. Great suspense, unique sequences and a perfect balance between ground and sky effects. Insane that your "hobby" show is way more spectacular than any show I've seen done by a big, professional company in my country.
All the best from The Netherlands!
Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback!
Cheers from the USA
you out did yourself this year!!! best one yet!
Thank you!
Joel you’re so talented Dude! Amazing work!
Thank you! Cheers!
GREAT SHOW Joel - Love the Drone Footage too... Great Hanging out in FL - Look forward to hanging out in Iowa at PGI this year.
Thanks brother!
Great show
That was the most badass firework show I've ever seen!!
Thank you!
Great show! Some really nice product in there. I think my favorite part was the Girandolas!
Right! Those turned out so well
That was a show! Great job. I live outside Cincy OH and I'm lucky to attend almost every Rive fest webn show. My little country town spends a fortune on booms and ahhs. No thought though and no soundtrack. It's just not the same without the time and effort to mane it its potential. Great job
Thank you so much! You might enjoy taking a short trip over to Blue Ash for July 4th. Best show in that general region for sure!
@Joel Robinson Pyrotechnics We do Blue Ash for the 4th, and Riverfest is always 1st Sunday in Sept. Thunder over Louisville is only a 1:30 from us but it's before the Kentucky derby. It was April 22nd this year. Keep up the bangin shows
I watched all of your videos leading up to the show that was amazing might be the best firework show set to music I have seen this year.
Thank you! I'm happy to hear you watched the setup videos too. They are some of my favorites
🤩 wow thank you sir for the show.
Thank you for watching!
Awesome show! Really enjoyed all the videos leading up to it as well
Thank you and I'm happy to hear that!
Awesome show! Great taste in music!
Thank you!
Top Notch, Top Notch
Fake Finale FTW! You got me!
Mission accomplished!
Was doing a firework show in my own property with some family members I blew some canister off then about 30-40mins later had a karen neighbor complain about my shells landing on her property. She attempted to complain to the cops but thankfully the cops understood and let us still continue my show.
That'll happen! Glad you got to continue the show
This is it!😊🎆🎆🎆💯
Great job man
Impressive. Most impressive
Beautiful show really enjoyed 👏👌👍👊
Glad you enjoyed it
man bro i look up to you so much your show are crazy !!! im still wiring with one fuse and timing it out with 9 one boards and fan cakes and mortars and it soo much work biggest show i did was on a big trailer with about $3800 timing everything out with week or two of set up . i have learn so much from you been subed for a long time git geting so hard with cost going up . your the man love ur shows !
Thank you and I am happy to hear that! That's how we all start and each year it can keep getting better and better
That is awesome!
Was this shot on the 3rd?
Very nice
Great job!!
Very Nice. 🧨 🇺🇸 Thanks. 👍
Very cool. I like my shows to go a little longer but I have found that if you go over 15 minutes people start getting bored.
I totally agree, 15 minutes is about the cut off in my opinion. It has to be a really good show to go beyond 15 minutes.
The rise and thunder was timed so perfectly great show man. Keep up the good work
Thank you!
wow man that is some kick ass work!
Thank you!
Amazing work man!
Thanks a lot!
That was amazing! Really great show! Thanks Joel!
Thank you!
Phenomenal job!! I know how hard these setups can be , especially contending with the rain.
Thank you! It all worked out in the end
Absolutely magnificent! Beautifully set to music, the timing was fantastic. Those girandolas are so cool, there is just nothing like them. My show didn't go as planned due to a miscommunication about the shoot site so I was only able to do 10-15% of my total stash but I had to do one of those girandolas, absolutely a crowd favorite and I was asked to get another case to make sure I have plenty for next year! Lol.
And who knows, maybe it was for the better. Now I can get proline stuff, get music set up, and really try to wow the audience like you did with this show. It was really something else.
Thank you! Sorry to hear about your shoot site but at least you were able to make the best of it! 100% agree with you on the girandolas!
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics I also just noticed the Glow in the Dark in my second watchthrough, those look awesome! They definitely live up to the demo, the colors were extremely vibrant!
@@mallowpuff2649 I thought so too! They looked amazing 100' apart with other cakes shooting between too
Great work sir! Looking forward to seeing you at PGI and/or Sky Wars!
Watched it the second it came out. Great show Joel
Thanks for watching!
that was spectacular !!
Thank you!
Joel that was absolutely incredible!!! Amazing job my show was Awesome Thanks to all the tips and stuff you gave me!!!!! Can’t Waite fir more videos in the future also when. Do you think you’ll have the firework Stash video out Always look forward to what everyone bought for the years ti celebrate!!! Keep up the amzing work!!!
Thanks man! That's awesome to hear. Most likely on Sunday. Traveling for work for a few days
That 2nd song sounded familiar 😁 Awesome show Joel! See ya in Newton
Did you use it too? It's a fantastic song! See you in Newton!
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics yeah, I used it at the spring MOpyro shoot last year. The bridge and the ending is what got my attention when I caught it on a stream. I dumped 5 cases of nishiki kamuro into the last minute and let it rain for the lead out. Great song!
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics I had a small issue when I started the script and had to stop and restart, so Chris's video didn't catch my opening shots. I was only doing one song, so I just threw every que I had at it 😆

@@pm9650 Oh nice! I need to watch that!
Awesome show!!! Just did my first ignite show designer for the 4th. You were one of the first few guys I watched on here years ago that got me to where I am with my shows today. Would love to hear you feedback on this year's show my first video loaded in here.
Thank you, that is awesome to hear! I'll have to check it out
What a show, super enjoyed that one. The ground effects and music were a perfect match. Makes me wonder why I have a 1.3 license seeing what you do with consumer. Bigger isnt a substitute for better. One question....Why are you the only one setting up. I always have a helper and enjoy teaching others safe practices. So many are eager just to help and learn in my opinion. Great way to pass on to the next generation. Either way thanks for sharing the video for us to enjoy!!!!!
Thank you! I lost two of my helpers last minute due to sicknesses and two of my usuals were out of town. Hopefully next year will have more help though!
Awesome show and thanks for sharing! I can only dream of doing a show half as grand as this one day. Thanks for sharing your supplies list and prep videos too.
Would you be willing to share the cost of the show?
I missed fireworks this year due to other family obligations, so this one really hit the spot; almost brought a tear to my eye knowing how much work and love went into that show while watching it.
Thank you for the comments and support!
Sorry to hear you couldn't do fireworks this year. Hopefully, next year is better for you! I would estimate this show cost about 3k and that is a mix of retail/wholesale.
Great show! Loved the timing with the awesome choice of music!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was amazing my man, hopefully one day I can make a show like this
You absolutely can too!
Great work on your show as always Joel! I took your advice for my show this year and I have to say it worked out amazingly. Is there any chance you can do a video on how to fuse properly?
Thank you and that is awesome to hear! Check out Part 5 of my prep series this year. I cover fusing shells with tips etc. Let me know if you have any questions!
What are you using around 5.20 mark?
Brocade sky mines from 76 Pro Line up top and gold gerbs down low.
Dude!!! That was amazingly timed!! All the little ground effects...the rainbow!!! Just wow dude!!! What were those beautiful single color fountains you used for that rainbow? Great job bro 👏
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it! This year's show is going to be posted today as well
Very nice show!! Good job!
Thank you!
Amazing job!
Thank you!
Not about this show, but a general tip for all our pyro friends. An all cake finale with consumer product will have stragglers. We want a hard sharp ending, no stragglers. Script your all cake finale, but make your final event be a step event of 5 second finale cakes. DON'T time script the last event! Hold off on that last event till all the stragglers have popped. Then hit your final step event of 5 second cakes, as many as you can afford across as many stations as possible. Another way is to fire your cake finale, wait for the stragglers, step slam a bunch of slices (which can't really straggle) and then hit your 5 second cakes. In this case your last two events are stepped after the cake stragglers. You'll get a sharp ending. ruclips.net/video/yDKWdOPwqHg/видео.html
Dude that was great! I love the grand pause at the end before the finale. Great work!
Thank you!
Happy Fourth of July bro nice show
Thank you, happy 4th!
Awesome show Joel!
Thank you!
Great show! Technical question, What is the distance between the front positions? Putting together my first with one-shots and slices and looking for perspective.
Thank you! That year the positions were spaced out 50' each, so 200' total frontage.
I second all the comments. Simply stunning and unlike nearly all the shows I've seen uploaded. Your music selection was the star in my opinion. Very cinematic, percussion heavy and moving. Who was it by?
Thank you! That was my goal with this show. To use a bit more cinematic music. I edited all the tracks together, but the song tags are on the video.
That was a dope show bro amazing 👏
Thank you!
Brother I've been watching lots of pyroz in my day an this was by far the best coordination need so 5 inch I think 🤔 😆 lol
Cheers to that!
Hard Hard work nobody has any ideas on what it takes to do what you presented. Fabulous choices, nice nice products. Onward 🌈 with the total ways to be, and that's Fabulous. IM me anytime I want to speak.
Thank you so much!
Awesome show again but the music.. o well.. keep up the good work
Thank you! Totally understandable as I know some don't like music, or don't like the music choices. But hey, it's my show so I did music that I like.
how long does it takes you though? that is quite impressive
There is a lot of work that goes into these shows which you can see in my prep video series. Music selection, editing, scripting, and prep work are a solid two weeks of work if I estimated. One of the factors that affects scripting and prep time is the lack of the product I want. So I have to find something to substitute into it's spot.
So none of my friends or family are allowed to go to your shows LOL They will all know I am a hack and a fraud who likes to light fuses and they LOVE the show (even if I am just doing a shoot) and rave about it. Never would again!! LOL Excellent job!!!
Hahaha! There is nothing wrong with lighting fuses. They are enjoying the show as much as you are enjoying lighting it. Five years ago, my shows looked nothing like this.
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics I am remote firing, just went with a P1200 and P12 combo. Let's me do a lot of effects still just not nearly as capable as the cobra is. BUT price per cue was a lot more inline with my budget to start off remote firing. So I will have to work in a Cobra and slowly add cues to it! Excellent show though! We will see where I am at in 5 years... I just got the Pyro bug 6 months ago and I have learned a lot and gotten better since then! Excellent content though, great shows, I appreciate all your hard work.
@@denfireworks That's where I started too! That is exciting to hear and I am happy you have that pyro itch. Don't tell the wife I said that though lol
Amazing show as always Joel! That fake finale was amazing, had I not know it was fake from watching your set-up vids I would've totally been fooled! Is this your show, or are you hired to do this? Additionally, what's the best way to directly contact you I have some more indepth questions if you'd allow.
Thank you, it worked well in person too! This is 100% my personal show. You can hit me up on email, social media, or through comments. I try to respond to it all in a timely manner
Oh and out of curiosity what's the cost of a show like this in products?
I don't have an exact amount due to when and how I purchased the product, but it was probably close to 3K.
Awesome show -Neal
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the show
