I think the strength and conditioning coach has a lot to do with their improvement. The power and speed that they had at the end of the game during the goal line stand in the heat while wearing the dark uniforms, incredible.
Mike Elko wants to run the football and play sound defense. I’m all for it. That blue-collar philosophy can resonate, which will allow the program to compete with ANYONE…

I cant remember ever going into a bye feeling this good about the squad. Wasn't just that the team won but it feels like they are getting better every week. Great week to be an aggie.
This bye week could not have come at a better time as well. There is so much junk in the air with the upsets, and A&M has the luxury of being able to keep their heads down and out of the light. Huge shout out to Reed as you said. He was able to keep the ship stable and gave Connor the time necessary to heal and he didn't have to be rushed out. One day, one week, one game at a time. Lots of film to pour over, good and bad. Lfg.
Said it in one of your earlier videos; before the season I could argue for any result between 6-6 and 11-1. Hoping the team keeps the focus and does not let up and relax.
Not to hurry my way through this FB season but I think Elko will impact A&M and specifically other sports in a positive way as well (set the tone). FB trajectory is upward for sure. Other sports may accelerate as well.
Elko saw something in Weigman during game week practice that resonated. What a game he played! But the team can’t lose focus bc it’s one game at a time.
I still think the secondary definitely has room to improve, especially the corners with playing the ball/not getting lost. I think the d line needs to gel more to prevent lanes from opening up from the QB to escape. I think the o line really needs to clean up the penalties that are costing us drives. There is still plenty to work on but the improvement week after week has been much clearer than it ever was under jimbo and I think that’s exactly what Elko and his staff bring to this program.
I think they only passed the ball 3 times in the second half. Lots more in the tank. But that performance, if it’s the peak, is more than good enough going forward.
I was flat out wrong about Conner and I’m sorry. He showed his ceiling and why we were all so excited preseason. But one great game doesn’t make him perfect just like Notre Dame doesn’t make him the worst. I don’t wanna hear the word playoff till at least mid November. schedule is manageable but not “easy”. GRIND.
I was & remain pro CW, being one dimensional simply doesn’t work in the SEC. But as I stated in an earlier post and as you’ve mentioned MReed has done an outstanding job of keeping us alive.
GetRGetL may be alluding to this but IMO a run based offense and team w/ a defensive identity make for a more consistent performance week end week out. We should be in every game.
Perhaps we as an Aggie Fanbase placed Colin Klein in a box based on his playing history, or his experience at KSt, etc. But, we have even better, we have a coach that can tailor make an offense based on available talent.
How long did it take Jimbo to achieve his first signature win? A lot longer than six games. Now all we have to do is avoid the proverbial “rat poison.”

Absolutely. Sound Defense + run game keeps you in any game. A passing game and forcing turnovers takes you over the top

I was flat out wrong about Conner and I’m sorry. He showed his ceiling and why we were all so excited preseason. The TE room has been solid in blocking, not real flashy with production, just getting it done in the trenches.
Just need to win on the road vs SC and Auburn. Then enjoy a dog fight against an extremely good UT team. Perfect time for that rivalry to come back.
