    We were there all week, and this happened on our last day… so thankful we got to see all that we did! Also thankful that we are safe- we drove those roads less than 6 hours before it flooded!

    i can never imagine being in my house watching tv, looking out the window and seeing a bunch of water surrounding my house. that would terrify me so much. my prayers are going out to those caught in this horrible situation!

      @@danafortier4085 the barns and houses that have been washed downstream have dated back 125 years on some of them... this has nothing to do with where they built, just the amount of rain on top of snow melting this year was way too much. I'm from Montana by the way...

      No. It was originally 20+ yards from the river, well above the highest known flood level. It was ynp employee housing.

      Life at 7400ft in elevation actually... this is what happens when you get a heavy snow year on top of 2 weeks of rain. Up here where I'm at, are the headwaters of the Missouri River and it's hilarious watching people down river laugh, because guess what... it's coming your way😂 some of those buildings were over 125 years old so no this isn't a "flood plain".
