I have an 8" Millennia too and love it. There's an 8" chef knife available in their BPX series now and it is *uncannily* sharp. Just few dollars more than the Millennia. You should try it!

Now that you have used the wide chef , do you recommend it over the regular 8 inch Mercer ? . Is the wide inch similar to a cleaver or Nakiri in profile ?
looks good for heavy duties .. like you, by the end of the day, I would still prefer the normal one for being multi-purposes (Gj with that intro thou lol )
