ND8 (rolling shutter - prop blur) test - LGMT RWY 32 landing - 2.7K

  • This is a test video using a GoPro Hero 4 Black (no housing) with a cheap 22mm ND8 filter attached on the lens @ 2.7K/4:3/30fps. The target was to remove the ugly propeller artifacts of the CMOS sensors (rolling shutter) and induce prop blur.
    As you can see the ND8 filter does a pretty good job in a bright shiny day (the ND4 is not that nice). What I like is that you can "feel" the propeller, but not see it clearly enough (hence you can even take screenshots).
    The video was captured on 15 August, 2016 and shows a landing at LGMT's runway 32 in a fire patrol mission in Mytilene Airclub's Cessna 172N Superhawk.
