  • Martha and Ro have a very special guest on this episode of Bewildered…Ro's mum Paula!
Paula has a mind-expanding story to tell about the time she followed monarch butterflies on their migratory path and learned that 10% of these butterflies always follow a different path-and for an unexpected reason.
Tune in to find out the purpose of these aberrant butterflies' journey, why Martha and Ro relate to them so strongly, and why all paths through life, whether "normal" or divergent, are valid and valuable.

Absolutely Magnificent… Tears of gratitude and love for the breadth and depth of Bewildered… “The Aberrant 10%… Wandering… Wondering… In Defense, not Defiance…and with Love… Serving Everyone…” Thank you so very much. I’m certainly saving this episode to watch whenever my Spirit needs a lift. 🦋🦋🦋🦋

That was beautiful, thank you so much! Especially that the wandering/wondering is following your truth, so it is what you have to do💙. We're not broken, just taking a different path!

Hello Martha and Rowan. I was flabbergasted to listen to this episode, especially since the title didn't give away the topic. I have been listening to this podcast, as well as the one Martha does on her own, for a long while but this is my first comment. I have also been reading - and re-reading and highlighting! - your books, Martha, for 15+ years. I was diagnosed with autism about 3 months ago, at the tender age of 54. So your decision to focus on neurodivergence now is both very welcome and timely. I too have felt like an alien most of my life and it is very nice to know I'm not alone. Or broken in some way. This episode made me feel extremely seen and validated. I am also a writer, by the way, and I wonder if it is easier for neurodivergents to express themselves in the written rather than the spoken word at times. I am delighted to be part of this community and I thank you from the bottom of my weird little soul. Tara xx

Oh my goodness!! I wish I had a mom like Paula!! I had a father who bullied me into living in conformity because it was all about what others think of his family and a mother who complained about how unlady-like I was and I was always so angry as a 6-7 year old verbally expressing my unhappiness. Eventually my parents yelled and controlled me so much that I would stop being me and being a happy child. Currently living in Rural NV where I feel the percent is 1% abberant/99% conforming and some of them are severely intolerant people. Needless to say I've had to experience this intolerance. I realize that it comes from a place of fear, but it makes me sad. Thanks for this episode. Thanks for helping me remember there are others out there.😉

My daughters & I have the same conversation all the time about how everyone we know is neurodivergent like us. We always end with the question, “Do neurotypical folks really exist or do we just somehow avoid them?” Loved the episode.🦋
