The filter should be plugged in to an electrical outlet for it to work. It can also aerate the water if the flowing water agitates the surface of your aquarium.
When I am encountering that problem, I will just tap the motor for a minute or two to kickstart it. I also suggest lubricating the impeller with petroleum jelly. The motor is working when you feel a vibrating motion when you touch it. When it is working but you still experience the said problem, please take note that the hoses and the chamber should be filled with water to encourage water flow.
@@katropapets thanks for the reply. I've now filled it properly and gave it a tilt around to remove air so no more waterfall noise. The motor does buzz an awful lot and actually vibrates the outlet hose a fair bit
Just make sure that the motor is not touching any object like a wooden wall and place a think cloth under the filter chamber. You can also add lubricant like petroleum jelly to the impeller.

Kailangan na bakante yun para makadaloy nang maayos ang water. Kung lalagyan mo kasi ng blockage yung ibaba, pwedeng bumara yung material sa daluyan ng water na mauwi sa pagkasira ng unit. No, you have to run it 24 hours a day.

The canister filter is fine but the pump that comes with it has no real muscle. I bought a 20 watt pump and it really sucks & pushes the aquarium water through the filter.😘☺😍😝
