Hi, I just bought the Edifier G2000 and planning to get this T5 subwoofer as well. But I'm not really sure on how to connect it via laptop. I mean, should I connect the sub directly from "sub out" G2000 to RCA "line in" on the T5? Can I control the volume directly from the pc as I'm doing it for the G2000? Does the volume of the sub automatically follow if I adjusting it directly from the pc or from the G2000 speaker as well? Thanks.. Btw, I'm your new subscriber. Keep up the good work bro!
Thank you. First, connect the line out from your pc to the RCA input in the T5. Then, connect the RCA output from the T5 to the G2000 (that way you can control the volume with the pc).
To hook up the edifier r1700bt to the T5 via your computer like this: 3.5mm motherboard jack -> splitter to 2 female rca -> 2 male rca to 2 male rca into ‘rca in’ on T5 sub -> 2 male rca to 2 male rca out of ‘rca out’ -> rca in on r1700bt speakers.
Hi There! Great review 👍 I was looking for a small sub for my 2.1 PC setup. As of now i have a pair of Micca MB42 and an amp without sub out. The connections are PC-T5-Amp-speakers right?. would it work or am i going to fry anything?
Thanks. If you want to add an amp to the setup, you will need to RCA out from the amp to RCA input in the T5. Then, RCA output to the Micca speakers. Does that make sense?
yes, it uses RCA connections. You can go about it 2 ways: 1) You could go line out from your pc to the RCA input in the T5. Then, RCA output from the T5 to yamaha reciever (that way you can control the volume with the pc). 2) If you want to use a dac with volume control, you RCA out from the dac to RCA input in the T5. Then, RCA output to yamaha reciever. Does that make sense?
TWO ways: 1) You could go line out from your pc to the RCA input in the T5. Then, RCA output from the T5 to 1280DBs (that way you can control the volume with the pc). 2) If you want to use a dac with volume control, you RCA out from the dac to RCA input in the T5. Then, RCA output to 1280DBs. Does that make sense?
No, you cannot connect the Eris E3.5 to this sub using the RCA input because the RCA port is an input that sums with the 1/4" input to the speaker amp. In order to use this Subwoofer it would need to be the first destination for your audio and then output to the Eris monitors at the end of the signal chain. Consider the Temblor T8 or T10 Subwoofer to achieve this. Once you get the subwoofer, you'll send audio out of the audio source into the inputs on the Temblor subwoofer (via RCA, TRS, or (if you're looking at the T10 subwoofer) XLR.) Then, you'll send audio out of the subwoofer to your Eris speakers (via TRS or (if you're looking at the T8 subwoofer) RCA.)
@@GadgetExplained Thanks for the response. I Actually have the 5 inch monitors, which are both powered and take EITHER unbalanced RCA cables OR balanced TRS cables. I think i would be able to connect my audio interface to the subwoofer ins and then the outs to each speaker with rca.
Thanks, that's an interesting setup. if you want to connect to speakers why not buy bookshelf speakers like this ruclips.net/video/EHALjBhhfQA/видео.html

You can go line out from your computer to the RCA input in the T5. Then, RCA output from the T5 to speakers (that way you can control the volume with the computer). do you need the T5? Well, it depends on your needs. the t5 will handle the bass frequencies and will give you a thumping bang like a thumping car stereo hookup. Very cool if you want to annoy annoying neighbors:)
hey good day! just wondering as the 1700bts isnt available where im from. is it possible to connect tha 1700bt to the pc stereo and the t5 to the sub out?
No, it doesn't work like that. The sub needs normal speakers to sound normal. You can use any cheap speakers. It doesn't have to be bookshelf speakers. Get yourself some speakers. Does your computer motherboard have a subwoofer out port? If your computer motherboard only a single 2 channel audio output, you will need to split it and feed your speakers and the sub. For that, you will need a Headphone Splitter (3.5mm to dual female ports) like this one amzn.to/3I2SOxv And, and additional audio cable with stereo mini plug at one end, 2 RCA plugs at the other (like this one amzn.to/3EgpJfK)...you only use one of these - doesn't matter which).
Hii. Can i connect two bookshelf speakers (not powered speakers) for high and mid frequencies with the line out of this sub? Or do I have to use another amp for those two speakers?
@@GadgetExplained It means that output is not controlled by the volume controller of the sub? And also I want to know how much output in watts can i get from that RCA output? Actually I thought that this RCA output is same as the input signal. I mean not an amplified output. My speakers are 60W. Is it ok with that?
that is correct..you will need to connect the sub to computer or dac for volume control. As far as the sub RCA output, it only drives the audio signal, not power. This means, your 60W speakers will still output 60W. The only thing the sub RCA output does is send the higher frequencies from the sub to the speakers while the sub handles the lower frequencies. Does that makse sense?
