When I listen to your songs, I feel like I was a child...these sounds...and what do you feel when you create your music? What message do you want to convey to us?
Greetings from an Englishman in Northern Ireland! Thank you for the kind messages. I’m delighted you feel that way. Believe it or not, when I make music I am trying to capture a nostalgic place or feeling, often from childhood. For me places are so important. I used to think places had souls when I was growing up because everywhere is so different. Everywhere from under your bed to the the top of the EmpIre State building and places you dreamt of. I know that sounds a little over the top but I take a lot of comfort being in places, and being sentimental. I’m so glad this came across. :) thank you 🙌 Ps if you listen to anything I’ve made, even in Bent, I always try to find that mystical feeling. Some days it’s difficult, others not. But making music is a wonderful luxury. Thank you again :)

childhood memories are a essential building block of ones personality and imo is where alot of inspiration comes from that gets made in to music, movies, cartoons, art, etc.. in the eyes of a child thing seem simplified hence why when you remember something it seems much simpler weather that be a feeling when playing out side with friends or playing videos games or game/movie night with family etc. in your case Simon. this song and im sure many songs that you have made have a nostalgia factor driving the inspiration. to me this song reminds me of times of playing nes and n64 games with my friends. the sounds is like those old style moog machines from the 70s nostalgia sure is complex lol. im glad you still make music :P you (bent) and the board of canada group are the few music groups that capture the 80s and 70s nostalgia perfectly.

I am curious, would you and/or Nail ever be game for doing a guest spot on my channel to talk ten records that influenced you the most? I would love to do a featurette with you guys since I sold many of my subscribers on the first couple of Bent albums. No issues though if you would prefer to pass on the idea.
