Ive played drums for the past 35 years. ive been around ALOT of drummers, been in alot of drum discussions with other drummers, and seen tons of interviews with other drummers. Ringo Starr is the name comes up time and time again as the drummers choice as their favorite drummer of all time.

When Bob met the Beatles in their hotel in NY, it changed the course of popular music for the rest of the century. It's well documented. Man, I love Ringo. I hate hearing people dissing his drumming. Ringo Starr is a brilliant drummer who has influenced literally thousands of musicians. He has that style and sound that is unique, left handed using a right handed kit. No, he isn't fast and flashy, but that's not what drumming is about. It's about keeping time above all else, and Ringo is like a fine Swiss watch. Those fills of his are legendary and anybody who says Ringo isn't a good drummer...well everybody is entitled to their opinion, but I've seen three different All Starr band concerts, one with Ginger Baker, and I can say Starr is an incredible drummer. No, I'm not comparing Baker and Starr, two completely different styles. But when Starr is behind his kit, he commands attention.
